Not only that, but Liara's sad and pensive pause when she says "For better or for worse" is all the evidence required that shows she hates what she's doing and the predicament she finds herself in. Poor girl has suffered and is suffering so much, that I can't wait until we get hold of the DLC and we get to comfort her.

Also, I will be absolutely staggered if those hidden audio files ever see the light of day.

You really think they wont be used now?

When I first heard them it make my heart sink.:crying:

I agree that the audio files won't see the light of day. I also probably wouldn't purchase ME3 if the dlc makes the loss of Liara a permanant thing.

I think a previous dev post, referring to Kasumi audio files left in game, mentioned they were mostly junk and not used.  The real material will arrive with the DLC. There is A LOT of stuff that will never see the light of day that is in game.  Look at Tali/Legions conversations on Omega and various other missions they are not supposed to be involved in (unless you mod the game).

Did you read what I posted above? You're missing one vital fact: Liara doesn't want to be an information broker, and once the SB has gone she will want to join up with Shep again.

We'll see in the Liara DLC. I personally feel that Liara's really going to open her heart during the DLC, and admit her sorrorw, guilt and emotional torment. The poor girl's been through so much, all for Shepard, that at some point her defense mechanism will drop completely and she's going to need comforting and consoling. Badly.

I know, I feel the same way I dont think she likes being an information broker either, and she showed regret for not being able to join you. But I guess Im just a bit of a pessimist, and finding out that Liara wouldnt be an ME3 squaddie would kill me.:pinched:

Im so anxious for the Liara dlc, I cant wait to finally get more Liara, and know just whats going on!

If that ends up being the case at the end of a DLC or expansion without you being able to save her from herself... to be quite honest I WILL NOT buy ME3. Sounds foolish I know... but once you start a romance as epic as I see Shep and Liara... you do not end it on a sorrowful note. Someone does not go through what she goes through to get your body to save you only to let you go again for real. Doesn't make any sense. I'm hoping Bioware does the right thing... but after the KOTOR series and how ME2 turned out story wise... I'm kind of up in the air.

No, believe me if they do that to Liara I wouldnt buy ME3 either.
Liara is the main thing that attaches me to ME.

Yeah, Liara is the best thing about ME. <3:wub:

Even if I was to look at the Liara DLC at its very worst, I would assume we would get a 2 hour DLC with some emotional scenes, but not everything we want.
Realistically, we should get a 5-7 hour DLC that includes a deep, emotional storyline and most of what we want.
Optimistically, BioWare goes all the way, pulls a RockStar and gives us a 15+ hour Expansion that includes a deep, emotional, beautiful storyline with everything that we could dream of in it and an epic storyline.

At this point, I can't imagine BioWare completely and utterly f**king it up, but if they did, I would not get ME3 either (unless they somehow made Liara perfect in ME3 and she was a squaddie).
BioWare has definitely setup a great emotional storyline, even they should realize the implications of Liara becoming the SB.

Now, now, it'd have other uses. It'd make a fantastic drinks coaster. :P

But yeah, like what screwoffreg said these hidden audio files are probably just junk, and it seems evident that Liara and Shep taking the SB out was originally a side mission, something that evidently is no longer the case with the expanded storyline.

Liara states that she's a "very good information broker", but you can hear her dissatisfaction with her situation in her voice when she says that line. It's practically palpable, and it's written all over her face.

Yeah, and looking at what he said about the Tali, Legion, and other squad members that had hidden audio that never made it reminded me how they scrapped a lot of stuff. I am at ease now, and feel a lot brighter about this Liara dlc.

To me she seemed a bit proud of that, but when she talks about what she is doing, and how its of her own free will she looked a bit upset.

Don't forget, she also has that "Everyone needs information, Shepard" line that she says in a tired and weary way. Liara's obviously not enjoying it, and you can see from her appearance that the stress is affecting her health.

Kind of sad how those once brilliant blue eyes are now a more dull grey colour. :crying:

We might not know for awhile.  A small DLC probably would not do the whole situation justice and if Bioware's intention is that your LI joins you in your Quarters, they probably would want to allow ALL LI"s to do so at relatively the same time, not just Liara.  So she might be part of a larger, bridging to ME 3 expansion.  If thats the case we might not see it until the SURPRISE ME game/expansions that comes out in early 2011.

I wonder what Bioware could possibly add to the plot of ME2 for an expansion. It would be a delicate balance between adding to ME2, and accidentally consuming plot-material that would be more suitable for ME3.

What exactly has been said about that?
There really is supposed to be a large dlc expansion for ME2 in 2011? Or is it just rumors?

EA released their plan for the next several quarters.  There is listed a Dragon Age game (either expansion or a sequel, which would be wild) and a "far reaching ME release".  It doesn't seem like a full game, based on the description at the time, so the assumption is that its a large expansion.  Both of those are scheduled for early 2011, so probably between January to March/April.  The MMORPG (Star Wars) hits in Spring as well.

Also, based on developer interviews, Casey Hudson (I think) mentioned they are going to have game bridging DLC/Expansions as they get closer to ME 3's release.  The final game seems to be on a traditional two year release timeframe, so one year from release (early 2011 - early 2012 for ME 3) would make sense...

On a related note, this video on YouTube is fast becoming one of the highest rated and viewed Liara videos on the website. Seems like a lot of people are eager to see just what is going on with Liara. Feels me with hope, and makes me happy that alot haven't given up on her like some have.

Go Liara! <3

I have to say, I would rather wait until early 2011 (It would be a freaking hard wait) for a full Expansion that Liara has a major part (or even centered around her) in and for BW to make sure it is perfect than to get a smaller DLC, that isn't as good.

I agree, Liara doesn't enjoy her work at all, she is doing it because she has too not because she wants to.

Its unfortunate how easy it is to miss that important dialog, I almost missed it, and it gives you a good look at what Liara is feeling, and what she went through.

Bah.  Its still underwhelming, no matter how many times I watch it and try to make it make sense.  It just doesn't.  Her motivation doesn't make sense.  I accept everything she says right up until she says, "So that's why I have got to destroy the Shadow Broker.  For what he did to my friend, and to you, and whatever he's doing with the collectors."

I could accept her saying, "I've got to find out what's happened to my friend."  But the rest doesn't follow.  Even when viewed as pure emotion.  What she's describing doesn't seem to equal the level of hate she displays.  Also, there are a lot of guilty parties in this whole episode.  Why the Shadow Broker, specifcally?  I just don't get it.

I just hope said Liara DLC/Expansion gives us the option to make Liara happy again, to hope relieve her of her guilt and emotional torment. I hate seeing her so sad!
