I actually have to give BW credit for the f/f romances in their games, my characters would have to go without love otherwise.
It is great my Shep can love Liara. <3

I do adore Jennifer Hale, especially her Fall from Grace in Planescape Torment. I'll even run around in both Mass Effect games as Femshep screaming out, "Playtime is over!" during combat.

I get all disassociated when I see Maleshep stuff, Shepard is ingrained as a woman to me.

Although I have only seen clips of her, and never actually tried playing the game with her.
To me Shepard seems like he would be a man. Eventually I plan on trying femshep though.

I play as the gender I am and the gender I'm attracted to...it's a win/win situation!

Whats it like talking to Jacob? I always hear that femshep will flirt with him no matter what dialog option you pick.jlb524 wrote...
Inherently, Shepard is neither a woman or a man....could be either depending on the preferences of the player. To me, Shepard is definitely a woman but this 'fact' only exists in the little version of ME I have in my head. I think some prefer to play as their own gender and others prefer to try something different, or they play the gender they are attracted to.

You heard correctly.....I avoid talking to him for this reason.
There are non flirty options and you have to be careful not to pick them. The problem is, some of the non-flirty options sound flirty.

Jack is kind of like that, only the renegade options really stops her romance. I wanted to be neutral with her but she still ended up being interested in me.<_<jlb524 wrote...

I finally just had to be a jerk, and after that whenever I tried to talk to her she would just say "F**K OFF!".

FemShep's flirty dialogue with him annoys me to no end (No means No Jacob).

I play a custom Male Shep. I think I did a good job with the character creator (everyone thinks this, of course), so I carried him over in to ME2. His ID Code doesn't work, though. He looks like the child of Kaiden and Keanu Reeves. I call him Commander Squinty. The reasons are self-explanatory.

I never imported them as it is so frustrating to grind to level 60 WITH the right choices you want I just downloaded other peoples characters, changed the names and appearance, and went on. Even so, there spirit lives on.

Great post Jayla, and I agree with everything you said.
I do like the idea that Shep and Liara are desperately sad throughout the events of ME2, constantly thinking of each other and wanting to be together, but circumstance is keeping them apart. It's why I like to imagine at the same time that Shep is looking at the picture, Liara stops work on Illium, turns and looks at the sky from her balcony, silently praying for Shep to come home alive. That's how I RP it: the pair of them are desperate to be together, but the situation says otherwise.
Also, you frequent TVTropes? Me too! I wrote the entry for Liara in the Video Game page for "The Woobie". I just wanted to spread some more understanding of poor Liara's situation in ME2.
I love Liara, the BBG!

Thane annoyed me too. I started getting worried when Femshep would sit down to talk to him. Then when he used a term of endearment on me out of nowhere that crossed the line. People need to earn that right and maybe drell women put up with that condescending crap, but I don't. So Thane spent the rest of the game sitting in Life Support making shadow puppets on the wall and droning on about his dead wife to them.

Aw, I liked Thane. I felt bad for him. I watched his romance conversations, he was kinda nice.JPfanner wrote...
Yeah, the very first line each time you talk to him makes it sound like Femshep has her hand down her pants when she says it. I know people like to slander Kelly with that whole scale itch rumor, but my money is on Jacob. He can't even get most Femsheps to talk to him, let alone get any action, so he's probably desperate enough to seek alternative avenues.

If you load up a save, and go in to the Squad screen, you'll see a list of numbers and letters at the top left of the screen. That's your Shepard's ID Code. If you copy those down manually, and then start a new career, and input them in to the ID Code bar at the bottom of the screen at the Shepard creation screen, you can effectively copy-and-paste Shepard designs from elsewhere.

I believe Shep keeps thinking about Liara when she talks in a flirty voice with Jacob.screwoffreg wrote...
Fem Shep in ME 2 is horny or something. The Jacob situation is ridiculous. Even he is slightly unnerved by how strong you come on in the FIRST conversation.
I REFUSE to believe she has the hots for him.

We all dislike Jacob for FemShep's flirty voice with him (she sounds like she wants to say, "You and me, right here, right now" Goddamn it Bioware, just goddamn it).
Garrus keeps going on with his sexual innuendo and Thane does indeed annoy me as well.
At least Kaidan took it like a man when you shut him down.

It's there on 360. The code doesn't exist if you used a face you imported though. Only a face you built in ME2.

Eh, I just found it to be really boring talking to him even as a friend. His conversations consist of his dead wife, his lack of personal responsibility for his murders, or his failure as a husband and father. Then he throws out that term of endearment based solely on Shepard's gender. Then I have to read about how he was supposedly designed to be attractive on every level to women, and I find that to be so completely untrue personally that it is laughable.Somebody1003 wrote...

He's awesome as a squadmate on anti-Collector missions though for sure. Just not interesting to me as a character even without getting slapped with the term of endearment. You can ask him what it means, and he sits there all smug and says maybe he'll tell you later. And then he spent the rest of the trip sitting alone.
