That sounds like a Renegade dialog choice. Not really surprising that if you spit in someone's face, slap them around, and treat them like crap that they might show a bit of anger over that. Throwing what happened to her mother in her face after all she's done for the galaxy and Shepard personally is pretty low.
Really freaking great to see that dialog to be a total ass got put in the game over being able to be a real friend, let alone a lover.

Actually it wasn't a renegade dialog choice, there were only two choices one on the right and the " you've grown cold" line alone in the left. Anyways here is how I got that line.

1- All of this happens after you finish the first round of hacking. Then talk to her and she mentions the Shadow Broker. I chose the option that said " you're obsessed." Then I chose the "How are you" dialog." She now tell you about the Observer for the first time. Then when she asked for help I chose the "What do you need me to do" dialog. After that I chose the " I'm on it" dialog.

Now here is the tricky part after all of that there is only 3 options on the right side. " Samara ", "Goodbye" and "Thane". Everyone probably already asked her about those characters the first time we meet Liara so the logical choice is "Goodbye". I don't know why but I decided to ask her about Thane again, so do that. Then I chose the " You just knew that?" line on the top left side. After that I chose the middle option that said " That's enough questions".

Now ask her again "How are you" on the top left side and then you should get the " You've grown cold" choice on the left side.

That's how I got that dialog line, I tried my best to explain it. You guys should try it and see if it works for you too.Image IPB

If it does turn out that TIM is a contributing factor in Liara's emotional torment, her struggles and the hardships she's endured, then I want the option to put the barrel of Shep's pistol up against his temple and to then pull the trigger.

Nobody does that to Liara!

That still sounds pretty harsh for a supposedly neutral investigate type option. Having her mother brought up like that is just beyond petty.

300 pages of The Beautiful Blue Goddess.
We have not fallen prey to random discussion of various subjects not pertaining to the Lovely Liara.

I salute everyone (I have no affiliation with the military, this is a special Liara salute) for the wonderful job we have done for Liara, no time to rest on our laurels though, lets keep it going.

TIM is definitely contributing to Liara's emotional torment in some way, how deeply he is involved is the question.
Why else would he lie in the beginning if he didn't have something to do with it? The only reason Shep even went to Illium was because she had to for story purposes If the two squaddies hadn't been there, then Shep couldn't have visited Liara.
I don't think the lie was a developer oversight either, I think it may have something to do with the Liara DLC.
And, Hell Yeah, TIM is a f**king dead man if he is responsible for hurting Liara for so long in any way, shape, or form.

Actually her behavior If she did have little daughter whit Shepard seems rather plausible if taking account circumstances surrounding her and Shepard.
She known that if both Cerberus and Shadow broker will learn that Shepard have daughter then both parties will do everything what possible to size her and because of that put Shepard in very difficult situation.

Imagine for example if Timmy got little Allish T'Soni Shepard :wub:in his 'claws" then Shepard will have no choice but "dance" as Timmy will play to not endangered her life.

But after eliminate SB and keeping Timmy in check after C-Base (especially having in EDI's memory data aquired from dead Paul Grayson) maybe Lili will decide to reveal truth... but only time (and devs) could tell that.

EDIT: I smiled when my Shep after post collector  ship breffing says "If he (Timmy) do that again the collectors will be last thing he should be worring:devil:"

Yes... if he will be affiliated in any way whit actions against Lili then i am more that sure Miri will help me to find him and then... NOBODY threat my beloved Lili... NOBODY!:police:

I agree with you. I'm just saying that I didn't picked the lower left option which is always the renegade one. Actually Liara doesn't really get mad, she doesn't get up and scream, she says that line while seated and without raising her voice.

I didn't wanted to incite any strong emotions or anything from the community. Liara is my main Shep LI and I would never chose an option to make her angry or hurt her, I love her too much.Image IPB I was just discussing that especific line which I found purely by accident and it definitely surprise me.

It isn't her behavior if she had a child that is the problem. It is the behavior necessary for her to have had one that is.

Plus not everyone romanced Liara. Kind of hard to see them looking at having been babyraped by Liara in a positive way.

Oh, I didn't mean to seem like I was mad at you or anything like that.  I'm sorry if it came across that way at all.  I was just commenting on how annoying that the writers would put an option to say something that harsh to her, but we don't have an option to be even warm to her, let alone as comforting and supportive as a lover would be.
So I apologize again if it came across as anything personal directed at you.  If anything, thanks for posting that, I hadn't known about that before.  I always mindlessly agree with whatever my sweet Liara tells me to do in game, so I'd have never seen something like that : )

Whenever I play Liara's reunion scene, I always avoid the dialogue choices where Shep gets argumentative or annoyed with her, I hate seeing her annoyed or upset with me! I always try to be as co-operative as possible, and I love when Liara finally opens up at the end. It's so heartrending when she finally opens her heart, and she almost bursts into tears. You realise how much she's suffering, how much pain she's been through, and it's all for Shepard.

Can't wait until we can comfort Liara or let her know how much she's loved in the Liara DLC.

No need to apologize JP, no harm done. I completely understand where you are coming from. After I meet Liara in my first play through I was shocked by how the writers handle the whole scene. I didn't know if I had picked the wrong dialog choice or I didn't know if I needed to go back to the first Mass Effect and do something different. It was just so bad, god what were the writers thinking.

I actually was expecting Liara to call me again before the Suicide Mission. I thought I could go back to her office and maybe tell her how my Shepard felt about her and maybe get a romantic scene before the end. None of that all I got was Shepard staring at the picture, which was a nice scene but It could have been so much better, like the video that someone posted on youtube.

Ahh I miss my beautiful blueberry next to me in every fight. Giving good advice and my Shepard always did what she wanted. Liara is awesome, I can't wait to have her by my side again in the DLC or ME 3. Love for the Beautiful Blue Goddess.Image IPB

Yeah, it is unfortunate that the only emotions Shep can show during the reunion are irrational anger or annoyance.
If you pick the Paragon conversation options, Shepard just agrees with everything and doesn't seem to care about the life threatening position Liara is in.
I also love when Liara brings down her shield and lets Shep know what she is feeling. I can't wait until we can do something about it though, Shepard sitting there staring off into space is not the way someone should feel about her love.

I almost wanted to pick Liara up and bring her back to the Normandy where she would be safe, her life is in danger everyday she continues her job as an information broker.
I can't wait until we can help her get rid of her negative emtotions and fix the situation she is in. I will be glad when she is safe and happy (I am still hoping she stays with us on the Normandy after the DLC).

Go Beautiful Blue Goddess DLC, we need it right now (I can wait as long as it takes for it to be absolutely perfect though). <3
I love Liara with all my heart!:wub::wub:<3<3<3:wub::wub::wub:

I found this picture of Shepard's funeral on DeviantArt, and I thought that people should see it:

jinzali.deviantart.com/art/The-Funeral-157573421

Liara, the most visibly distraught out of all of the attendees, of course.

The picture made me think if Shepard should ever ask Liara what his funeral was like.  For some reason, it seems like a dangerous, wreckless and inappropriate question to ask Liara.

You known, i just talk whit my sister (she also created her own ME character) and she pinted me very interesting inconsistency in devs reasoning of Lili's (she goes whit Lili too by the way) treatment.

They claim that reason of keeping her more or less out of events spectrum was to keep them alive for ME 3 but here lays tricky part... WHAT if imported Shepard dies in C-Base?

Devs stated pretty clear that dead ME 1 Shepard means no import for ME 3 and in effect more dark repeat of Normandy attack outcome but this time without ANY slightest chances to recover Shepard's body.

Of course to get Shep killed in C-Base required pretty "hard" work but it's still possible so like my sister ask "Where is logic in this swiss cheese?".

No... there is no true logic behind this and like she says it was very easy to create some kind detection system which will activate romance flag from ME 1 if we imported our chars or keep such flag inactive to not confused any newcomers but devs should leave US PLAYERS choice how we will direct relationship in ME 2 .

This is why I thought about a lovechild, first off we don't know how long an Asari carries a child or if they can store the genetics for another time, if she felt that Shepard was gone, why not bring that part of Shepard she has to life?

I actually wondered if I'd be entitled to any royalties from the Shepard Memorial Plaza on Elysium.  It is the galaxy's number one wedding spot, and that has to translate into some credits.
Seriously though, it doesn't sound like the Alliance recognized you as being dead for a long while, and even then they turned it into a PR event.  If they were using your face on recruitment posters for 6 months before replacing them like Jacob says, then it seems like they wouldn't have declared you dead for at least that long.
That picture is great though, and it is what would have happened if moving events like that weren't seemingly trivialized or swept totally out of the way.

She certainly does. Liara still comes across as trying too hard to appear menacing, or angry, and failing badly as she's so darn cute. :P

york, it'd definitely be an inappropriate thing to ask Liara. That's asking her to bring up so many sorrowful and awful memories, and emotions that she'd never want to experience again.

I like the idea of at Shep's funeral, if Liara is your LI, it would show her standing on her own at the grave after every one else has dispersed, and quietly and tearfully vowing to find Shepard's body, thereby setting up the events of Redemption.
