The scene is so cold that I actually prefer to have my Shepard fight w/ Liara. At least in that respect you get some emotion.
I understand fully what you're saying there. It also makes Liara's eventual reveal and her opening her heart alot more satisfying, and gut wrenchingly heartrending.
But...the problem is I just can't make myself argue and get pissed off with Liara. I just sit there and agree to everything she says, trying to be understanding. I know that makes it seem like Shepard is like
throughout the entire reunion, but I can't bring myself to argue with Liara!
What's annoying is that we get the "pissed off argument" dialogue choices, but not the "consoling, comforting, reassuring lover" dialogue option. That's why I'm eager for Liara's DLC.
This, I see as a rather annoying conscious decision.
As I think I said two days ago or yesterday, they're basically trying to have two romance cliches in effect here, and it's your choice. Either you get pissed off at how cold she is and run off into someone else's arms, or you hide your heartbreak, and eventually get rewarded in the third episode, with an interim reward before the end of the game. (The evidence to me is Ash and Kaidan -- their interim reward is the e-mail, of course. And I KIND of hope there's something to the bridging expansion alleged for next year, only for people with the pic still sitting upright on their desks, of course.)
The problem is, the reward is a) not enough and

amazingly too soon. "Because I couldn't let you go" should have had more separation, and it should have had a more positive response available to us. Oh, and it'd be nice if triggering that line got us a different "How are you" line later on -- or a different delivery?
And to an earlier post of yours ... there has to be a reason why she's always the most positive character. While you can't typically judge party members based on options given, I have yet to find one place where she gives the Renegade option in ME1 and I've played practically every variation. (Including that unintuitive run-past-the-guy-in-the-chair-so-you-can-get-Kaidan-saying-RTFM bit, as well as the one time I didn't bring LiLi with on Noveria.) They made her the most pure-hearted one for a reason.
Alright, and as for the hopes for DLC ... I'm hoping for two and a half hours of missions, new convos unlocked, and if it has to be potentially pre-Omega 4, I still want to advance her on her quest a lot more. (For 7 to 10 dollars American.) Oh, and I hope I can gut Shadow Broker with a grapefruit spoon. And a grapefruit. (But that can wait until the bridging expansion, which will also have to include, as I said, a bone thrown at us loyal-lovers and all.)
