I said welcome back in the fan club, Justin. But what the hell, I'll say it here too. Welcome back!

I do love those pics of Liara using her biotics. We have alot of Liara looking cute/sexy/adorable, so it's good to see some of her just flat out kicking arse!

Yes, morrie, I've noticed that Liara seems a bit, uh, "bigger" in that picture. Hehe. Liara is beautiful.

Yeah, that is nice. But one thing I don’t get, Why is Shepard often a female in fan art?

Personal preference I'd imagine, Shadow. Alot of people think Shepard's character works alot better as a woman, or prefer Jennifer Hale's voice acting.

I have to say, up until now I've only ever played my DudeShep profile. I started my first ever FemShep game recently, and I think I'm in the group that prefers Shepard as a woman, I think I like the character better that way.

MDK's Liara art really is incredible. He makes her look even more beautiful, if that were even possible!

That drawing is very nice. I honestly find it really difficult to pay much attention to art or even screenshots with Maleshep in them (not making any kind of criticism of anyone, just sharing my own feelings). My Femsheps have different hairstyles and colors and they're all Liarasexual, so it isn't that hard to get some extra personal meaning from pretty much any pciture of a Femshep and Liara. If there is a Maleshep around, my eyes keep wandering back to them and I think "Who is that and what are they doing with my Liara!"

Femshep is just really awesome on Tuchanka, especially if you let your hair down a bit and pick some Renegade stuff like headbutting that Krogan. It was kind of like being a science fiction version of Red Sonja where you're the biggest badass warrior on a planet full of of them.

Really both games are pretty empowering from that point of view, there are very few instances where Femsheps are treated differently because of being a woman. Even with being Paragon, I always smile evilly when Garrus is beating the living crap out of Harkin because of what Harkin says to you in ME1. Then I let Garrus shoot him in the leg and love when Shepard says, "You're lucky, I would have shot you in the head."

So I've been thinking, what do you guys think are going to be the consequences for cheating on the ME 1 LI. My main Shepard stayed loyal to Liara in my first and second play through. Now on my fourth try I decided to experiment a little bit. I destroyed the heretics, kept the collector base and I couldn't pass up on the oportunity to see a Jack vs Liara biotic catfight in ME 3. I'm sorry BBG. Maybe I'll be plesantly surprise with a thresome, you never know.

So what do you guys think it will happen. Will it be another lame-o and calm conversation like in Mass Effect or will their be serious consequences. I'm hoping for some heavy and serious stuff. I'm planning on getting back with Liara and blowing up Jack, I'm hoping she goes crazy and start killing people if not then the whole serious consequences stuff will be just another lie by Bioware.

Anyway I will always choose the Beautiful Blue Goddess to be next to my Shepard, side by side.Image IPB

I think I replied to you in the fanclub. I'll have to check. I remember telling someone how my vacation went. Either way, thanks!

Back on topic, I think we need more Liara using biotic pics. One of my favorite ME1 scenes was on Feros. If you gun down the Exogeni guy (I forgot his name but I can't do paragon on him, he's just too much of an ass) the guards will step up for a sec. If you have Liara in your party, she stands right next to you, leans in and starts to glow that biotic blue. They just put their hands in the air and surrender. It's so kick ass :D

I wish I had a PC version of the game so I could screenshot that.

I don't think these confrontations will be unique depending on the characters involved.  You'll just get a generic confrontation scene.  This is due in large part to the sheer number of possible romance confrontations that would exist.  I think Jack and Liara will confront you, you'll pick one, the one you pick will continue as your LI and the one you do not pick will stop talking to you.  Therefore, the Liara/Jack confrontation scene will be the same as the Liara/Miranda one and the Ashley/Jack one, etc..  This is assuming these ladies will even be around and in your party....if not this might even happen over email :o

There will be no consequences to speak of. Reason: They don't "waste" time to put things into the game that only old players will see. Everything that mattered from ME 1, made no actual difference in ME 2. It was just service for the fans (at least that), but it was all very shallow and in the end meaningless. So IF (hopefully) you can continue the ME 1 romances in any meaningful way in ME 3, it will also be available for new players, and will play out the same regardless. At most, there would be a conversation where she confronts you with it and you can either make up or break up. From there, it will be exactly the same.

That is, if BioWare doesn't for whatever reasons change their approach back to the one they had up to DA:O. But I don't see that happening with EA in control.

By the way, that picture? Very nice, and still very tasteful. Kind of like the love scenes that BioWare implemented before that disgrace of a media campaign against ME 1 that made them change their minds.

Yeah, I always think the same way when I see MaleShep, Shep is absolutely a female for me.
I feel as though Liara just cheated on my Shep when I see her with MaleShep, lol.
I actually think that way with other games where you can create your own character (pretty much just RPGs, lol) as well.
Liara and Jennifer Hale's voice makes it have a greater of an impact for ME. Since Shep talks, you can definitely get more attached to the character, and already seeing Liara with your FemShep, it makes it seem weird when Liara is with a MaleShep.
When I see someone playing a male character in Fallout 3 I say to myself, "Are you absolutely sure that is The Lone Wanderer? I am pretty sure she is a woman".

Harkin in ME1 seems to be one of the few instances throughout both games where you are treated differently as a woman (I am assuming MaleShep is always treated normally).
Shep is cool as a Renegade, but I just can't help but be nice to everyone (except Harkin in ME1 for his princess comment amongst other things).

Liarasexual is a great word, we need to contact one of the major dictionaries to get it put in there, lol.
Hell, the word D'oh is in there, why can't Liarasexuals be?
I guess FemShep would technically be a lesbian though.

If the ME1 romances are availible to new players in ME3 then they at least should make it better for those of us that did the romance in ME1, otherwise whats the point?

The point is to make money. As it stands, they could just as well scrap the romances altogether or again introduce completely new ones. The game would still get stellar reviews (I still laugh about ME 2 being the highest rated BioWare game ever), and it would sell. So if they actually provide a meaningful - that's the important word - continuation and conclusion of the ME 1 romances, I will be content with that. If there's even any resolve to the loyal / cheating angle, it should be appreciated. I know I would prefer that to a "continuation" available only to old players like in ME 2. This is not the old BioWare anymore, where you could have higher expectations.

I think that people who say "Liara's going to go nuts as she's so hardened and edgy now" are very wide of the mark, IMO. Liara's only keeping up this hardened facade so that she can operate in Illium's underworld, as we can see in ME2 she's still very much the same Liara at heart. Still socially inept, still very awkward, still very much self conscious. It's just she's now got her guilt and emotional pain to go on top of it, and she's using this hardened facade as a defense mechanism. Furthermore, she's doing all of this for Shepard, the first and only person she's ever loved, the person who absolutely means the most to her in her entire life. If she finds out Shepard has been unfaithful and has trashed her, that might be it for her emotionally breaking down. I think that when she finds out, she won't go mad and try to hurt Shepard. Liara will just say very little, have an absolutely heartbroken expression on her face, quietly accept it and then walk away. Look at how Liara reacts to Shepard yelling at her when you find out that she gave the corpse to Cerberus. Just utter sadness. Cheating on Liara isn't going to result in her getting super pissed off. It's going to make her distraught, as the person that she's gone through all that pain for has just trashed her.

Gah, typing that out makes me feel sad. :crying: Lets hope for those of us who stayed loyal to her will get an equally emotional scene with Liara, but ours is happy and the development of the relationship into something truly deep and special.

Don't completely give up on BW, I know they will never be as good as they once were, but EA are the ones who want the money at all costs to the game.
If you don't believe in BW in the least bit anymore, look at what has to happen logically for ME2 Liara DLC (any other Expansions with Liara as a major character) and ME3.
BW has already setup a great, emotional, romantic storyline for Shepard and Liara, that means EA already gave the go-ahead for that type of DLC/Expansions in the future. If EA wasn't going to let BW do those emotional DLC/Expansions, then Liara wouldn't have even cared about Shepard.
ME3 is the last game in the trilogy, it cannot be standalone. No matter what, BW has to make ME3 great, they cannot make it like ME2. The storyline might be a bit more lacking, but it will be better then ME2.
The Shep and Liara romance will have an amazing romantic and emotional continuation and conclusion in ME2 DLC/Expansions and ME3, BW has already set it up and they have to follow through.

Pretty much this.  With the number of LI's now and the variablity in them I don't expect much more other than generic outcomes for everyone.  A handful of unique lines maybe based on the situation but overall I imagine a Shep that cheated will have a nearly identical experience to one that stayed faithful and the same with a Shep starting a new romance with these characters.

Taking all the choices into account and creating unique and meaningful outcomes based on them isn't something BW has shown they are willing to do up to this point.

They are very small compared to the rest of the geth anyways, so I was like what the heck, lets blow them up.

I'm a paragon too, and I always saved the Rachni Queen.  I'm counting on her help in the 3rd game.
I saved the heretics too, but I'm a bit conflicted about that decision.

I hope you are right.  If they have Liara go nutso and try to physically hurt Shepard or the new LI, I will totally FREAK!!  That would be completely OOC for Liara.  I know some desire this because:  A)  They want to see a 'catfight' and have their ego stroked (which is the point of catfights I think).   B)  They need a good reason to justify cheating on and dumping Liara (OMG!  Liara is crazy.... look what she did to Tali after I dumped her!!!   She soooo deserved it!!!!)
