I did actually have an idea that there would be a futuristic version of a talk show, with a human-supremacist human panellist getting all pissy that Shepard's genes are being passed onto the asari and that Shep and Liara will have no human children. You'd then get the asari panellist acting all smug that Shepard's genes are entering the asari gene pool, and that the asari are welcoming them in.

Also, can you see Khalisa Al-Jilani saying something to Shepard and Liara in ME3 about their relationship? She better not insult Liara!

Yes I think Al-Jilani is gonna say something like that in ME3, and she gave a little hint of that in ME2

She better equip a good helmet then because...

SHEPARD PUNCH!!

*snip

Shepard punch. Much more effective than Falcon Punch. =]

I thought bondmates were for life?  An asari could certainly have sex with more than one person, but it seems based on all the interactions with asari they have children with just one...

She better be carful, I'm paragon but I will punch her lights out if she say the wrong thing.<_<

Why punch her? I'd shoot her

Well that asari didnt seem to have a new bondmate....
And she didnt look like she wanted a new one either.

Yeah, but humans haven't even had contact with asari for three decades yet.  So her bondmate wouldn't have died too long ago and their daughter would be still be an adolescent at the very oldest possible age she could be.  They're not callous about it at all.  But a 1000 years is a long time.

I imagine though that some dont get new bondmates, and just stay raising their children.

Wow, I just realized:

Shepard, Soldier Level 60, all skills maxed out + Liara, Adept Level 60, all skills maxed out + 5 Children=

5 Asari Level 120 Vanguards with all of Shepard's abilities and all of Liara's abilities.

Hell, they could make a small army and take over the galaxy. They shall be called: "Sheponi sisters"

My Shep will raid there base then and destroy their clones and the DNA.

I'm not talking about bad science fiction clones (like the tank bred Krogan), I'm talking about the very real and established ability for genetic manipulation to produce children.  Like as in Miranda not having a mother. Cerberus does things like sabotage starships over colonies to expose people to element zero to increase the number of human biotics.  It isn't hard to imagine them "improving humanity" by making more Shepards for the next generation.
Even without Cerberus it is still a viable option for any Shepard to have human children without cheating on Liara or even needing to carry them for Femshep.

I still wouldnt want them doing that. They better ask before they do stuff like that, and Id say no thank you.

Do you really think a reporter is gonna do that? all reporter's are dirty and thats how they make there money

Not a reporter, Cerberus.

And I wont give em a choice when I raid the base.

does any body know When and Where Liara was born?

Going by the Mass Effect Timeline on the Mass Effect Wiki. http://masseffect.wi...m/wiki/Timeline

She was born in 2077, no details on the month and exact day though and she was probally born on Thessia since she's a Matriach's daughter who rarely leave Thessia. Funnily enough, anyone familiar with the Fallout series would know 2077 was the year World War III started...I wonder if that's a reference or coindence? Probally coindence, but they've already made a Fallout 3 reference with the CAIN(Tim Cain was the designer of Fallout 3's mini nuke launcher.) so they could always made another Fallout reference. But somehow the "end of Earth, but another  bloody prologue of Mankind" doesn't seem to suit Liara that well.

Oh and answered your poll, Thessia FTW! Despite we've never seen it before I know enough about Asari to know it's probally the best place in the Galaxy.

Thanks! Viva LIARA!!!!!!!

Nope, or at least not for the life of the asari. From what Liara says, they define their relationships by mutual consent on a case by case basis. Even some of them producing children aren't from a long term relationship. That salarian stepfather and asari daughter by Memories of Illium is an example of them "remarrying". A bondmate is the serious committed asari relationship though.

I think given the way Liara's personality has "hardened" SHE should be the one to punch out that b*tch of a reporter, and I would cheer Image IPB

Im sure many may decide not to take on new bondmates after theirs dies however, Liara strikes me as the kind of asari that would do that.

That is one way I always remember when Liara was born, the year of The Great War.
Good thing Liara wasn't there to see the nukes drop, lol.

I think it might be a coincidence, Liara would probably reference The Great War in some way (like saying, "I am suprised you humans didn't destroy yourselves with Nuclear Weapons when I was born, you can be a violent species") when talking to Shepard in ME1 if it was a Fallout reference.
I love Liara so much.<3:wub:

Haha, I like it! Looks like Liara is already getting annoyed with her snide insinuations.

She's so beautiful, though. Those eyes....

I don't know if Liara would take a new bondmate, but I think she'd have to move on somehow. Assume Shepard, in the best case scenario with cybernetics/Reaper tech etc etc lives 300 years more. That will still mean that Liara is not HALF of the age should could be....

Yeah, there is no right or wrong answer for that question.  Everyone has their own particulars on what they'd like to see, or what they think will happen, or how they'd interact with Liara as a bondmate.  I know there are a lot of people who simply do not want to have children with Liara.  I think it'd be great myself, but it should be an option defined by each player rather than one or the other being forced on people.

I still believe that there is no limit to how long we can live for with the right regenerative technology and some mechanical enhancements.
By 2187 there should be enough technology to at least make it to 1000 (probably way more than that).
I don't really know what type of tech Cerberus used on Shep, so I can't really make a claim as to how long she will live for, but BioWare could easily have her live as long as Liara and have it medically make sense.

For some reason, I can't see Liara even years and years after Shepard's death move on to find another love. I'd imagine she'd be busy taking care of her daughter(s).

It's likely Liara will move on quickly that Shepard is not coming back this time around, but it's unlikely she'll just grab another bondmate. Plus I somehow doubt there'd be any love between the two.

Lust maybe, but I'm not to sure about Love. I took it from Liara's talk about Asari dealing with their partner's death as if they don't just go "Oh well, my partner's dead. Time to find a new one" but more "My partner's dead, I kind've expected this, I'll have to move on. My daughters need me."

Would be nice for the option though. I wouldnt mind my Shep having some asari kids with Liara.

well, that is a flaw with the ME universe.  Nearly instantaneous travel between star systems and no one has figured out the genetic causes of aging and how to turn them back?  We have people now who live to 90-100 with increasing regularity.   More than a century later and we barely add 50 years to that?
