I was sifting through my old MP3s and discovered a song that I think fits so very well with Shepard and Liara. It's called Show me Heaven by Maria Mckee. It's from the Days of Thunder soundtrack so some of you younger pups might not remember that movie! lol! If you can find it give it a listen.

Ah yes.  Days of Thunder.  A supposed movie alleged to have been made about NASCAR that apparently bombed horrifically when it allegedly came out.  We have dismissed this claim.

(Okay, that was about as forced a Turian-Councilor gag as I could get.  I think.)

Got to love this one too.

Ah, never seen this one before! I'd seen the rest of her work, but somehow missed this one. I love it!

Love Liara's little smile and loveheart above her head. She's a cutie. :D

By the way, Liara was in my dream again last night! I actually love meeting and speaking to her.

Got that right! I love speaking to her in my dreams, hehe.

I really can't wait for the Liara DLC, I hate seeing her like this:

Image IPB

I just want Shep to comfort her, tell her everythings alright and there's no way in hell he/she will ever hate her. I want Liara to be happy again, I hate seeing her so sad.

Wasn't making any suggestions as to the quality of the movie (does gag me to death sound right). Rather the song from the soundtrack.

I think it fits a Liara and Shep romance quite well.

Well, just over 2 weeks to go now until issue 4 of Redemption is released. Can't wait to find out just what happened to Liara, what she had to do in order to save Shepard. Then, after that we can really start looking forward to the Liara DLC!

Can't wait, getting excited to see more Liara!

Good morning Liara thread, and greetings from the Ashley thread! Not here to troll, I promise. Just wanted to share a realization I had last night concerning the romances from ME1.

I think the reason I regard the Liara romance differently is because she loves Shepard unconditionally, regardless of whether those feelings are reciprocated. Whereas Kaidan and Ashley, as evidenced by the somewhat rocky reunion on Horizon, obviously hold Shepard to higher standards. Now I'm not here to make a case for one or the other (forever loyal to Ashley though I may be), I just wanted to share the observation.

Hi Lord Zeuss. :-)

Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, we've all agreed on the fact that it seems that Liara loves Shepard, regardless of whether her feelings are reciprocated or not. Her "Because I couldn't let you go..." line that she says to even non-LI Shepards is evidence of this, as is the fact that it's canon that Liara is the character that goes out of her way to find Shepard's body and save him/her from being sold to the Collectors by the Shadow Broker, regardless of whether Liara is Shepard's love interest. The fact that she's terrified that Shepard will hate her for handing the corpse over to Cerberus is also evidence.

It leads me to believe that when I think Liara will be a squaddie in ME3 again, that new players will be able to romance her, as well as the continuing romance from ME1.

Also, I'd just like to say that I'm playing ME1 again for the first time in ages, and I've really come to appreciate both Ashley and Kaidan's characters, and realised that I missed having them around in ME2 as well. I really do hope and expect that the surviving Alliance soldier will be back in the squad for ME3!

You may have seen Indigowolfe around here recently. He's my brother, and sometimes seems to think I am at war with the Liara romance. ME: Redemption does make me *slightly* disgruntled, I will admit (dah durr Bioware canonizing things, fan bias, blah--he can tell you more if you want to know), but I am not actually in opposition to the Liara romance. I'm just a fan of a different one is all.;)

This one seems slightly peeved to me like "Oh geez Shepard, you forgot to feed your fish again?! >.>"

Just some sort of "Oh heck you're up to your shenanigans again Shepard?" type of dialog.  And then she huggles Sheppie because Lili can't stay mad.  :3
(Even though it wasn't really madness in the first place, just one of those "*sighs*" or "oh here we go again" moments.)

Heh, it's alright, there's no need to qualify your beliefs or anything. you prefer Ashley's romance, that's fine!

Regarding Redemption, realistically they had to have it that Liara is the character who recovered Shepard's corpse, due to the fact that either Ashley or Kaidan are dead, and putting either one of them in the comic would be "canonizing" the series. In the comic though, it's let sufficiently ambiguous so that Liara romancers can easily interpret it as Liara trying to save the life of her lover, and going through all of these hardships out of love. Or it can be easily interpreted as Liara trying to save the life of her close friend in Shepard. It's left ambiguous so it's open to interpretation, just like how Shepard's gender is never mentioned.

I do feel as well that Liara was given the comic and this role in recovering Shepard's corpse because BW see her as one of the most important characters in the trilogy, perhaps second only to Shepard, what with her role in finding Ilos, her actions as depicted in Redemption and the fact that she's the only squadmate guaranteed to be alive for ME3.

Liara does indeed have amazing lips.:wub::wub:
Liara herself is just beyond amazing.:wub:<3<3:wub::wub:
I love Liara so much and I can't wait to comfort her and help her get rid of her negative emotions.<3<3:wub:

She deserves to be happy after all the hell she has gone through over the past two years.
It does show how strong of a person Liara is, most people would have completely broken down and given up after having to kill there own parent, watch their only love die right in front of them (all she could do was watch, helplessly), and have to do some terrible things over two years for important reasons (that are unfortunately uknown to us right now, I assume she was trying to protect Shepard somehow as well).
She isn't even a violent person, but she had to turn into one temporarly to suit the new environment and situation she found herself in; I hope the emotional realization comes to Shepard in the Liara DLC that everything Liara has done was for her.
Poor Liara, she needs Shepard to help her. <3

It is situations such as this where my objective and subjective opinions are in sharp contrast. On the one hand, there was literally no way for Bioware to do the comic without canonizing something and they were well within their rights to choose Liara, since they are the game developers after all. But on the other hand... well, I think you can guess where this is going.

I do rather think that Liara is Bioware's golden girl. Between all the characters in the ME universe, certainly all the companions, it seems like only Liara and Joker have zero chances of dying. And I think even Joker's status could change in ME3. But Liara? I think Bioware are far too attached to her to ever let her go.

Yeah, I don't really like Feron either.Liara is trying to be serious and save her love and Feron keeps screwing it up and making bad jokes. I hope my Shep can punch him in the face for telling her love to sit on his lap, lol.
I always play as a Paragon, but I will make that one exception for Feron.

I have to say, you think Shepard would be hostile towards Joker after interrupting all of the intimate moments between her and Liara, getting her killed, and making Liara go through all the emotional torment she has over two years.

As a love interest and important NPC, I agree.

As a squadmate, sorry, I'm not interested in having her again. Samara is far more powerfull and it is possible that Shiala (the green asari) will join the squad for ME3. That would be 2 asari in the team (Shiala being a Vanguard or something else and Samara/Morynth just a biotic powerhouse). Another asari would be just too much.

Don't get me wrong, I love Liara, but I don't really see her taking up arms again.

Yep...since both Samara and Shiala could be dead, I doubt you can make a strong case for either being a squadmate in ME3.  In addition, neither have nearly so compelling a reason to be in the squad as Liara, or emotional resonance, or nearly as much story potential as Liara.

On the other hand...neither story potential nor compelling reasons to be in the squad nor emotional resonance were taken into account in ME2.  So I guess anything is possible.
