I truly disliked what they did to the asari in ME2.  They took the oldest, wisest and most revered species into the galaxy and turned most of them into gang members, scheming criminals, ****s or psychopaths.

True but if they created a universe of candy-canes and roses we wouldn't play it LOL

Yes, of course. I like the new customization options, just doesn't offer enough choices. I also removed the ugly heavy weapon from that Shepard (hoped that would also make the game more challenging, but so far it's been no problem).

The asari have the largest region of space, they have the largest economy, and they control the media. Along with the salarians they've been governing a galactic government for over 2700 years. I really think that they are the glue that holds everything together. In Revelations, Anderson muses on that and recognizes that his human ingrained attitudes towards women make it hard for him to sometimes remember that they're the most powerful species in the galaxy.

I think a lot of their importance, and that of the turians and salarians, is downplayed to give humans a chance to shine in the games. Sometimes absurdly so, like with the Council and Cerberus in ME2.
We've never seen asari, salarian, or turian space. Those are filled with planets that have been colonized for thousands of years. Humanity has a population of several billion, each of the other Council races must be in the hundreds of billions.

Agreed. At least Aethyta had the right idea. Too bad she ended up becoming a bartender. I hope they give her a cameo in ME3. I loved Aethyta. 

could be invited to LiLi and Shep mating ceremony if it will involve any guests. what do you think?

If only! I found the Prothean artifact to be rather unimaginative too, but hey - it's BioWare DLC. <_<

Surely there's enough bloodlust and criminality from humans krogans, turians and batarians without having to drag the asari into it?

Do you have a link to these mods handy by chance?  I want to wear casual gear outside the Normandy but haven't been able to find that mod yet.

Well, it appears the Hammerhead DLC is worth playing just to obtain the Prothean orb for your quarters along with the hopes of one day being able to show it to Liara.

Agreed. Even the codex mentions that during the Asari's rise out of being a primitive species, they sought to understand one another instead of going to war usually. Most of them share the same political and religious views. They're far more peace oriented than other species.

Right...now they're no different from humans.

I am just gonna put this out there, but all of FemSheps LIs (besides Liara:wub:<3:wub:) suck.
I have never done them, there aren't any other f/f romances in the game (not that I would romance them since Liara is there. I love Liara), besides Kelly. Kelly isn't really a romance though.
I believe Shep needed to practice her flirtation skills on Kelly to get them ready for Liara again, lol.

But no matter how you look at the other LIs, they suck. I try to ignore their advances and focus on Liara, but sometimes, it is hard because they annoy the hell out of me.

I didn't even half to think about whether to have Shepard cheat on Liara because female Shepard's options are cringe-inducingly awful.

Only if Tali was an option.

Or maybe Mordin for the laughs.

At least Kelly is there because otherwise it would be not fun at all playing ME2.  Jennifer Hale's delivery of "You're very charming Kelly" would make anyone weak at the knees. <3
