Isn't the love scene with Liara somewhat unique compared to Ash or Kaidan's in that we get to see Liara meld with Shepard, and it's beautiful visualisation through the pink clouds and stars that surround the two of them during the meld?

Yeah, the Liara love scene has a bit more that the others, the  'pink fog' stuff.

Yes, and we see a lot more Liara then we do of the other LI's.

I love the second passionate kiss that you see during the meld, the one where Liara has her eyes closed. So beautiful, and shows how passionate she is for Shepard, and how much she loves and cherishes her.

Yeah, thats my favorite part of it.

No other LI has that scene either.

That's my favorite part of the whole love scene...even though you can't really see anything.   It's the best!!!  And Liara actually closes her eyes unlike during that crappy ME2 kiss.  There's probably some deep symbolism in all of that though.

Liara being afraid Shepard will hate her? That's what I always interpreted it as, along with her shaking her head afterwards.

Goddamit, why don't we get a second chance to kiss her after we reassure her that we still love her!? So frustrating, then we would get a more passionate kiss.

Right.  Liara wasn't sure about it...she wasn't comfortable.   Thus, she didn't let herself go and close her eyes as she did in the ME1 romance scene where it was just her and Shepard and times were happy and simpler.  Well, maybe not 'simpler' given the threat of Sovereign but you know what I mean.

Liara was my favorite character in ME1 and I was so disappointed when she wasn't in ME2. Her dialog in ME2 sucked and she had none of the compelling characteristics I loved in ME1. She was a crazy powerful biotic and the daughter of one of Saren's advisors but she still was innocent. She needs to be back in ME3

Wait for the Liara DLC, my friend. I'm very confident that we'll get deep, emotional and tender dialogue with Liara, with possibly extra lines or a scene if Liara is your LI. She's so sad and obviously miserable in ME2, that I'm extremely hopeful and confident we will be able to comfrt and console her in the DLC.

26?! Do they all look different too? I always end up with the same face. It just doesn't feel as if it's Shepard otherwise.

And the femShep face-grab smooch is my favorite moment of the entire series, thus far.  Liara is just so.... explosive in that scene.  Such unexpected passion.  I still get goosebumps just thinking about it.

Sends shivers down my spine, Liara's explosive love for Shepard.

Dont tell me you have left the maleshep boat too Les.

Im all alone now!:crying:

Well, I've only played Femshep once to satisify my curiousity about the difference in conversations with characters in ME1 and ME2. Didn't get into it, mainly because I'm a guy so naturally I can't relate to female protagonists that well, although I don't really mind female Protagonists, I usually be a Dude in games you can choose your gender.

Also, I know people are going to disagree with me on this, ALOT. But Jennifer Hale is a little unconvincing as a Military Officer, there I said it. Sure, Mark Meer is bland in ME1 but hell it makes him a little more convincing, Bioware even asked him to hold back some of his emotions in certain scenes and hell he's only emotionless in certain scenes, mostly just general conversation between squadmates, he doesn't sound bad at all, I'd even say he's a good Voice actor. Also remember Mark Meer played alot of roles of sidequest npcs in the Mass Effect and none of them sound anything like Shepard because Shepard has a completely different voice from Mark Meer.

Plus, in ME2 his performance is even better, now he shows emotion in his voice in just general boring conversation, but really you don't have all these emotions in your head when your just talking to someone.

Have to disagree here, am a female ex-marine and know Hale did a fine job, I've had commanding officers that couldn't sound near as convincing as Hale did in some areas, our Mst Gunney was the most soft spoken person you could meet until you pissed her off.

The Liara reunion definitely requires some careful thought and some knowledge of emotional characteristics of people who go through traumatic situations.
Which is technically even harder to put in the game when BioWare could have just had a five minute conversation with her where Shepard said, "I love you" and everything was fine afterward. But why would BioWare put all of this time into Liara's emotions and not Shepard's emotions?
Well, probably because of the comics and such.

But it does mean the Liara DLC will be substantial because BioWare actually put the time and effort into thinking about how Liara will feel after everything that has happened to her and what she had to go through to get Shepard back.
At first glance, the reunion seems like a cheap way for BioWare to get rid of Liara or ignore the romance, but when you actually think about it, they created a realistic and complicated demeanor for Liara.
In that one short reunion scene, she shows all the characteristics of someone who is exhausted, depressed, and several other terrible emotions.
It actually has a great emotional impact on all of us who love her, we just need Shepard to be able to express her emotions.

I don't believe BioWare would have set something up like this unless they were planning to give us what we want.

That's the last shot before the scene transitions to the bed, right?  Such a beautiful moment.  Seeing Liara passionately kissing Shepard with her eyes closed, there's something almost hypnotic about it.  You're seeing her completely focused on loving Shepard.  The way she moves, and the lack of any tension on her face, conveys a perfect mixture of lust and bliss.  I'm getting light-headed just thinking about it.

I've captured (Fraps) 12 of that part on different of my Shepards, can't stop myself, Image IPB i perfer that one romance scene over anyother either in ME1, ME2, DO:A or anything else, it's not heavy, or to loose it's just perfect.

My only complaint with the ME1 love scene with Liara is at the very end.  There's just no way at all that my Femshep would have left the bed, gotten dressed, and then went to go sit on the desk.  She'd have been snuggled up, cuddling and spooning with Liara for as long as possible.
Then when Joker says, "Five minutes to the Mu Relay, Commander." we could dress each other and head out together instead of poor Liara being the only one naked and having to hurry to get dressed to make it up to the bridge.

I have to admit, that was kind of strange how Shepard was suddenly sitting at her desk.
That probably means that Shepard had been sitting there, fully dressed, for the past ten minutes or so.
Everyone thinks that it might be the end of the galaxy, so I would think Shepard would want to cuddle with her love after the Union.
Hell, she died one month later, so I assume she regrets her choice to get dressed.

Strange choice by BioWare, but the rest of the scene is beautiful.

Wow Unata. Good find! That's scary similar. You think they'd model the in game Mars after the real one. Well maybe they did with the other side of the planet.
