Regarding Liara after Shepard has passed away, to be honest with you I can't see her taking another partner after Shepard has gone. Shepard means so much to her, and is without a doubt the most important person in her life, ever, and is the person that means the absolute most to her. I see Liara as honouring Shepard's memory through their children, raising them the right way as tribute to her dearly missed bondmate. I can see Liara taking a leading role in society, considering how well regarded she must be amongst the asari for her help in saving the galaxy. Liara would dearly miss Shepard, but she would also cherish and remember how happy she made her, and would honour and live out those memories through their children and through her influence and role she could lead in asari politics and society.

I think its a little arrogant to think Liara will never take another partner after Shepard.
That would mean she'd spend the rest of her 800 years existence never having another loving physical relationship.

Shes still barely more than a child and hasn't even got to live out her wild years and you're wanting her to settle down and look after the kids for the rest of her life.

I don't think it is arrogant, remember how Liara's entire world was shattered in an instant when Shepard died the first time?
She was sad beyond belief and she was grieving heavily.
Liara even said she never thought about ever having love until she found Shepard (or Shepard found her, lol), Shepard is the only person Liara ever thought about loving like a partner.

We know BioWare, unfortunately, will probably kill Shepard off at three hundred, possibly four hundred because of the extremely advanced cybernetics (even though she should be able to easily live till a thousand at that point goddamn it. So much for realism BioWare...).
Liara will be just over 400 years old and spent the majority of her years with her love, I don't believe she would ever try to find love again after losing someone who changed her life completely and whom she loves more than her own life.

I could imagine her honouring her love through her children and her own actions, I don't believe she would ever want love from another or would try to find love after Shepard.
Shepard and Liara love each other beyond belief (even though Shepard has a dumb look on her face during the reunion, but that will be fixed in the DLC where we can comfort Liara).

It's just in her personality.

What I'm saying is I don't think Liara would move on, and Shepard means that much to her. From the way she described the asari union in ME1, and how deep and spiritual and how much it means to her, you can tell that Shepard means the absolute world to her, and is the first and only person in her life that Liara deeply cares for.

She did indeed speak about how deep and meaningful the joining is, but she also was very open to a threesome with Kaiden or Ashley, so she is still open with her sexuality and willing to have other partners.

Look at how un-asari like Liara acts when Shepard is killed at the beginning of ME2. Rather than take the typical asari "long-view", she actively tries to find Shepard again, because, as she says, she "couldn't let you go". That's deep, and shows how much Shepard means to Liara.

I personally beleive theres 3 reasons for this.
1/ This is her first relationship.
2/ Shes still young and naive.
3/ After spending the majority of her life alone than suddenly being surrounded by humans, she would be influenced by their "rushed nature" (or however she described it in ME1).

Anyways the reason why I brought this up was I was listening to the asari and the turian outside Citadel Souvenirs and how they were discussing the "lifespan talk" and it got me thinking about the Liara romance.

I dont think she was open to that, Shepard never said exactly what he
meant, he just implyed it.
I dont think Liara understood what Shepard was insinuating.

Well humans in the ME universe are lucky to hit 150 (just like how humans in RL are lucky to hit 100), so regardless of Shepard's upgrades he is eventually going to die and Liara is going to live for another 7-8 more centuries.

That was before they hit the galactic stage. Im sure that it will be extended now with all the new medicine and technology we have aquired.

Incorrect.
150 is the current maximum age most humans live in the ME universe (2185 CE)

Yes, but they got to 150 before they reched the citadel.

They are bound to be able to go higher then that soon.

Incorrect again.
Shepard says it himself in ME1 "humans are lucky to hit 150".
That was in 2183, almost 30 years after finding the Citadel.

150 is the current maximum age.

Regardless Shepard's not going to live with Liara for the rest of her existence (It'd be childish to think so)

Uh, Liara never agreed to a threesome. At all. She never even says anything. Shep only implies having the pair of them and Liara, being her naive self, probably didn't realise want Shep was insinuating.

Regardless of any percieved influences in her actions in recovering Shepard's corpse, she's still acting completely atypical of the asari. That to me shows how much Shepard means to her.

By the first contact war they were already at 150 for their expected life, and had cured most diseases as well.

She is young but shes not stupid, she was well aware of what Shepard suggested and said she was open to it.

Youtube the scene and refresh your memory.

and to explain it to all of you:
as humans live they "burn up" DNA as cars does to simplify things, and DO NOT REFUEL max "supply" of DNA is for [b] 150 years, after we run out of DNA to command cells, so the ONLY WAY TO LIVE LONGER THAT 150 WOULD BE SYNTHETIC EXCHANGER applied long before hitting 150 to "replace burned fuel"
as to refer it to Asari-they have few "suplement tanks" to store "fuel"[DNA], so adding more DNA, alongside with ageing process deceleration is the only possibility to live longer than 150
hoe that clear up things, i simplified it that much, as i do not know how much you know about genetics and that kind of stuff:P

If you send the "biotic god" into fight the head Eclipse Merc at the end of the Samara recruit mission and Jack is in your party, she says this.

Oh, and I just watched the confrontation scene again on YouTube. Ash gets disgusted, Liara doesn't say anything until after Ash walks off when she proceeds to say "I'm glad you chose me". Doesn't seem like Liara knew what Shepard meant, let alone being open to a threesome. She probably thought that Shepard was rejecting Ash in subtle way, because she seems to think Shepard has chosen her.

Yeah, I did too.
Liara says nothing, Ashley doesnt even let Shep finish, she just says "In your dreams" and walks off.

Here's a pic of Liara from when she wakes up, and for a few seconds just stares and smiles at Shepard before sitting up properly. It's absolutely beautiful, and it's like she's saying "Hello, beautiful. I love you."

I don't known why but i alway use in next scene reply "Ready for round two?"... too bad that right after this Joker interrupt (again<_<) us whit information that Normandy is near Mu relay...

Slight off topic... i start to get so tired whit this all "Liara will be next SB" crap but i kbown that any attempt of debate about this will give same reasons as arguing whit Council about Reapers egsistence...<_<.
I seriously hope that BW will produce something what will put to the grave entire SB subject in this game and Lili will be again whi Shep<3.

Huh, I haven't seen that theory discussed for a while, Asheer. Are some people still perpetuating that rubbish? Sad.

Also, after Shepard asks "Ready for round 2?" isn't Liara's little giggle absolutely adorable? It's so sweet!
