J I really can't wait either. I have a feeling it's really going to shed some light on Liara's situation in ME2. I know TIM is involved in manipulating her somehow. I just know it. If he's even partly the reason she's suffered so much then he will DIE.

Already saw that pic in your folder J, and it's beautiful! I love Liara's eyes!

I just threw this together rather quickly to illustrate how screwed up the lighting is in Liara's office, and really on Illium in general.  I used Samara's outfit to give an additional point of reference.  Shepard's eyes are all black, this is a save I was screwing around with to test out different stuff.

JP, that's a good comparison. Shepard's skin looks really blue on the Normandy and it looks more like Liara's grayish color in the office.

I bet if you take Liara on to the Normandy her skin color would look 'normal'. I wish we would get to see that one of these days...

All of us here, want Liara back, we want her to give up being an information broker, and we know she wants this too. She did everything for Shepard, and I think wants nothing more then to break down and let it all out, taking comfort in the arms of her soulmate. But we have to remember, not everyone likes/loves Liara like we do...blasphemy I know...but BioWare has to account for Liara not being a LI.

Now it seems pretty clear to all of us, that Liara is the canon LI for Shepard, but some people don't pick her even still. They have to allow for people playing a total bastard renegade character too. Thus I think it's likely that, if Shepard rejects Liara, who is her whole world...what would she do, where would she go...she could become the new Shadow Broker and live with her broken heart inside from there on out.

JP thanks for posting that. It does seem like lighting on Illium is altering the shade of Liara's skin colour, and making her blue appear more grey. That shot of Shepard on the Normandy is almost the exact same shade of blue Liara was in ME1.

Actually, does that affect Liara's eye colour too? I really hope she goes back to the deep blue eye colour, it makes them look even more beautiful.

I don't know, I just used the save I was messing around with one day trying out different stuff for that test.  So that TestShep still had my experimental "embrace eternity" eyes which are black.  Should be able to tell by comparing screenshots of Normandy eyes and Illium office eyes with any Shepard though.

@jlb524
Yep, that is definitely what it looks like.  On the Normandy TestShep is definitely asari blue and even just outside on Illium she gets shifted to a gunmetal grey.  She looks to be the same color as Liara when in the office and standing close to her.  So I'm really hoping Liara on the Normandy will be more her sassy blue self.

Think of how, after you complete Liara's DLC mission, a cutscene plays in which again Shep is sitting alone in her cabin, when the door opens and Liara apprehensively walks in. Out of her poorly lit office, her skin is it's old brilliant deep blue again. Liara then walks up to Shepard, they sit down together and hold each other's hands and just talk. Talk about everthing that's happened to Liara in the two years Shep's been gone. All the pain she's suffered, and how she's struggled to deal with her grief. Liara completely opens her heart to Shep, and vows never to let her go again. Ever. Shep apologises for not being there for her, and also vows to never let Liara go. Liara then warmly embraces Shepard, a single tear rolling down her cheek. The two hug tightly like that for what seems like forever. The camera then pans out, before slowly fading to black.

Just think of that, ratz. Just think of that...

Her eyes in the office look unreal, not the beautiful crystal blue as in me1

Hey guys, I was just playing ME2 and was on Illium.

Has anyone ever heard the ad for some cream to cure "Biotic neural itching"

That was the greatest thing I ever heard, "Because nothing should stop you from embracing eternity".

Near one of those lamps flanking Liara's desk.

Yep, her eyes aren't their normal deep, beautiful vibrant blue in ME2, they've dulled to a grey colour. Her pupils are also smaller too.

I think it's intentional, to show the stress and torment she's suffered. They say the eyes are a window into the soul, and Liara's in ME2 show her to be sad, lonely, guilty, grieving and afraid.

Reading some other topics that deal with the "what if" as pertains to ME3. It hit me that, perhaps Liara is fated to die in ME3. I might not agree, but it's been stated that people feel like a character can't be immune to death. Liara has been saved for something, we know that much. Also, there may come a point in which one of your squad becomes indoctrinated by the Reapers.

Could our reward for being faithful, be that we could talk Liara out of it? There comes a point in the game that Liara is forced to be taken on a mission inside a Reaper. Liara ends up pointing a gun at Shepard and we have to make a choice to kill her, get her to kill herself, or try to talk her down, failing if she isn't your LI. I envision a broken Shepard shouting "I love you Liara, fight it for me!" and she snaps out of it.

If unable to save her. Could we bring Liara back to life? Would Shepard be allowed to commit suicide over it? Killing the Reaper with a nuke and going out in a blaze of glory, broken hearted.

I would hate BioWare forever, if they killed off Liara for no reason other than to just make it painful on us.

When I did that test, TestShep never looked even remotely blue anywhere on Illium like she does on the Normandy. It was always either the outside grey or the office grey.

That shot on the Normandy is right there at the galactic map, but TestShep is just as blue up in the captain's cabin. So hopefully that means Liara will be able to properly adorn those white sheets with her properly blue self at some point : )

Sometimes they look purple on Illium but mostly they are dull gray. The bottom is ME1 blue!!

I don't think they'll go down the "Liara indoctrinated" route. For one, if they tossed that in during ME3 it'll feel completely forced and out of left field. What would be it's purpose? Plus, seeing as I believe Liara will be a squadmate in ME3 and therefore in close proximity to Shepard at all times, if Liara gets indoctrinated then Shepard and the rest of the squad all get indoctrinated too.

Besides, there are no active Reapers left in the galaxy at the end of ME2. By the time the Reapers reach the galaxy again in ME3, they're going to be more concerned with beginning the new harvest of organic life then indoctrinating one asari.

J, I love looking at Liara's eyes! As ratz says, the bottom frame is beautiful! The locker scene is one of my most favourite in the whole Liara romance, just the way Liara reinvigorates Shepard. Beautiful scene.

The Reaper on the Collector ship was never really there, it was only a hologram(?) of one, one of those Reapers is still active enough to control the Prothean General, as it said "We will find another way" at the end.

Locker scene is one of mine also.
