I played ME1 so much you can see through the disc ME2 not so much, I wonder why?
The absence of a certain asari's beautiful, heartwarming, loveable, sweet, cute and adorable face and smile, I'm guessing? ;-)

I think you're in the majority around these parts. I'm replaying ME1 as we speak, years after it's release. I'm about done with ME2, except this final ME1 character I want to import so she'll be available for ME3.

If I remember correctly, the implants were used to try and balance out the fact that the protheans were becoming more and more stupid because of the indoctrination. The implants certainly make it easier to control them, but it's never said that it's required.Noxis6 wrote...

Probably because of theirwhole ability to sort of interface with other species' minds. I guess it could make an asari's mind easier to "control," in theory.Noxis6 wrote...
Why exactly would it be easier to take control of an Asari, because of the biotics?
Hm I dont know as said above its not really how the whole "assuming control" thing seems to work the reapers seem only be able to control persons that are implanted with their tech, which again opens the question should shepard really be implanted with reaper tech why didnt Harbinger take over,of course there may be other requirements like the degree of implimentation or indoctrination.
I think this is a case of Not Enough Available Information.

Same here. I played ME1 so many times, I can probably recite the whole game. Want me to try? OK....Cartims wrote...

"Well, what about Shepard?"
Just kidding..... but I probably could. I can't even get through a 2nd playthrough of ME2.

Leliana is cute, but Liara is in a whole other realm of cuteness where the only occupant is herself.
(Also, I miss Jennifer Hale's voice when playing DA, lol)
I actually just finished every side quest before the main story planets and pretty much all of the side quests on the Citadel (with the Lovely Liara at my side of course), so I can focus on the main story with Liara!
Whenever I play ME2, the game feels completely empty without a certain Beautiful Blue Goddess.
I will love when that Liara DLC comes out ME2 will be so much better (hell, I will completely forget about the main story. Liara is the main story for me)! Liara needs comforting.

Had a thought last night. What if Harbinger "assumes control" of Liara for a final boss fight in ME3? Something tells me it would be easier to do with an asari than another species. And it would certainly fall into the Bioware style of drama.
*sigh* Why can't I think of any positive possible scenarios for Liara in Mass 3? Seriously, it's like my head is stuck in the "bad outcome" state of predictions. Need, Something. Positive....
Liara would have had to be implanted with Reaper "Tech" as Mordin explains to Shepard about the Protheans, Liara hasn't been on or near any Reapers, dead or alive as far the story goes, it took time for Benezia to become indoctrinated, weeks or months as Rana Thanoptis explains.
Okay yeah, I forgot about that conversation.

There are files, but nothing has been confirmed by BW so it's just wishful thinking at this point.

Yeah it's already been done in Kotor 2--Goto the robot
That thing was the most useless partymember I've ever had just as a sidenote
On the SB,that doesnt prevent him from being an AI that uses robots as avatars, also I'm not sure if Bioware wants to do this there are enough hostile AIs already.
A Thorian like thing would be interesting,as for the races we have well, human is definitly out of the race,Asari would fit because of the lifespan,Salarian would work with a bit construction,as I see it females basicly rule salarian society,so the SB could be one all her offspring get imprinted to her giving her loyal followers for protection, the problem with the short lifespan isnt really one if the head female passes it on as a title and Salarian minds work fast so they would be up to the task, the only real flaw here Bioware was so far too lazy to make female models for several races so I doubt they would make one for a potential DLC.
For the other races Thurian would work although would depend on how long the SB is around exactly and Krogan is pretty much a no go.
just to throw a few more stuff out in the open
Ok I'm back............Noxis6 you are very right! that damn robot was the useless thing I have ever seen

It has not been offically announced, but there are a lot of indicators towards it.Cartims wrote...

Even the reunion scene itself is one big indicator, BioWare put a lot of work into Liara's emotions, but why does Shepard sit there with a dumb look on her face?
Well, marketing probably told the devs to hold off on any emotions until DLC, as to create interest (even though we Liara lovers are always interested). That is most likely why you can feel that Shepard is supposed to say something to her love, but she never does.
If marketing comes up with something they think is a great idea to increase revenue, they are pretty much gods.
But yeah, the dialogue was cut out of the game and will never be used, like Kasumi's dialogue, so that is another indicator to BioWare thinking about Liara.
There is definitely going to some substantial, emotional DLC with all of these indicators, we will probably hear something about it in Redemption #4 or just after.

I can't agree more. So many of the party members in that game were throwaway characters. Too many droids. And too much The Disciple.

I can't for the life of me remember what she's saying when she smiles like that, though! I think it might be when you first express attraction to her, and Liara happily says "I knew it! And I knew you felt the same way about me!"
I love the romance dialogue with Liara. She's just adorable!
No, I think it's in response to Shepard's "All children rebel against their parents at some point. It's a natural part of growing up." When she says "You share the wisdom of the Matriarchs, Shepard." But I'm not sure.
Yeah, I really liked the romance dialogue with Liara. It could've stood for there to have been more, but there's enough. I can't decide which is my favorite, though. But probably my favorite aspect of those conversations is the fact that Liara's facial expressions seem to have been given the most work between the ME1 LIs. The other LIs, from what I've seen, have very little change in their expression aside from the basics. Whereas Liara has a broad range of visible facial reactions, from apprehension and uncertainty to happiness and embarassment. That really really helped connect me to the relationship between my Shepard and Liara.
Her facial animations are still top-notch in ME2, but that treatment had by then been given to almost the entire cast of characters. People have recently been talking a lot about how the lighting in Liara's office is a little funky and most of the time proceed to disparage Bioware for it. It's entirely possible that they just messed up in that particular locale but to me,it's seemed to be a bit of symbolism. It's probably just me reaching, but the way her face was almost always half shadowed seemed to be a representation of the place her character is now, how torn she is.

Not long now until Redemption #4, folks!
Can't wait to see more Liara, and find out just what's happening with her in ME2. I absolutely love everything she's doing for Shepard, the sacrifices she's making. It's heartwarming.
Thank you LesEnfantsTerribles! for keeping tabs on this........very much appreciated!!!!

Blue as the main colour, Green as the secondary colour and White as the detail. Now, take a guess who those colours are based off.
