Well it could be a Salarian dynastie running the whole thing,the salarian females seem to have a thing for the whole intrigue and information dealing stuff,plus even if they are not as hyperactive as Mordin their minds are quite fast so they are capable,of course the flaws her are there is no salarian female model in the game and its a safe bet that Bioware is too lazy to create one

Yeah, but what asari in either game hasn't been discussed as being Benezia's partner at some point?  Before ME2 was released the pool of candidates was smaller, but not the amount of speculation.  I feel bad for the asari Councilor, she's been getting like no speculatory love since the bartender and Shadow Broker came on the scene.  Personally, there are several hundred trillion asari that could have been Benezia's partner so I just don't worry about it.

When the asari bartender on Illium said she had a child with an asari but never saw them again I thought maybe she could have been Liara's "father".

Hey... Shepard needs to express her love to Liara, she apparently can't do it in the reunion with words, so she needs to do it through song, lol.

Or through the power of interpretive dance. But seeing as Shepard can't dance, s/he probably can't sing very well either...

Maybe s/he could shoot somebody full o' holes in the shape of a heart, and present the corpse to Liara. Shepard's good at shooting, right?

I agree, it means something somewhere down the line. I think it's Matriach Aethyta.

If I had to put a team together to save Liara it would be Aethyta, Grunt and my Shepard hehe

I agree with that Aria is really too much in the view of the public besides,if shepard would not have come around to recruit Garrus she had a good chance of becoming the newest corpse on Omega,but Shepard basicly killed off the competition.
