Well, we can't really throw stones at Liara being obsessed with Shepard when we spend hours and hours writing about her on a forum, giggle and sigh over screenshots of her, and moon over her in general : )

Oh this is so true *giggles*

She has a right to be as obsessed at our character as we are with her.

Okay, I'll just *sigh* and go "Oh, Stubbs..." and leave it at that.  (Probably JP as well.)  With one last bit -- do you really think Liara would appreciate that?  Hmm? *crosses arms and gives knowing look*  She's not that hardened in ME2...

Well, we need to at least slap Joker across the face at some point, I am pretty sure Liara would approve of that little punishment.
She might not approve of my squadmate sacrificing, but I could never lose The Beautiful Blue Goddess! She means so much to me.

True -- of course Shepard leaves Liara to put everyone in the escape pods because she's probably damn sure she can save Joker and herself.  That's another reason why 'screw Joker' probably doesn't occur to most Shepards.

So.  Not putting Joker over Liara, just making sure Liara gets everyone else off and sure I'll see her again, is my reasoning.

And yes, I approve of a slap , though I'd prefer it to be LiLi doing it.  Hmm, if she comes aboard the Normandy that might be a nice add to the DLC?

I'd love that as an addition to the DLC, Liara slapping Joker across the face. HARD. (Maybe Shep could step on him afterward when walking away with Liara and taking her to her quarters)

Yes, that was definitely Shepard's thoughts before she went to save Joker, she was trying to save her love above all else and told her to evacuate without her.
I actually get very sad every time I play the beginning of ME2 and see Shep floating in space and knowing that Liara was thinking she lost her only love forever.
I am sure the last thoughts in Shepard's mind were that she hoped more than anything her love would be safe and that she loved Liara more than anything. (Which she proved by telling Liara to evacuate without her).

I can't wait for Beautiful Blue Goddess DLC! (With Joker slapping included)<3:wub:

Alright, I've never had the nerve to ask this but...

If you cheat on Liara in ME2, what do you think her reaction will be in ME3?

It's easy to guess that Ash would be incredibly pissed, since she's a hot head. Liara is kinda hard to read now that she's been hardened by the story in the comic.

Just wondering if I should practice dodging singularities now in preparation for the finale.

And yes, I look forward to destroying the Shadow Broker for her. But I doubt that'll get me points for the romance confrontation.

Good night fellow Liara lovers!
I am off to dream about The Beautiful Blue Goddess!<3:wub:

Yeah, we are definitely all Liara fanatics! I am proud to be called one.
I love her!<3:wub:
Liara is always sexy no matter what mood she is in.<3:wub:

Whenever I've started a new game after my first, I almost start crying when I hear Liara say, "Do you think the Alliance will get here in time?" I just have to focus on the fact that they do get there in time for Liara and that she makes it out safely. Even if things don't go exactly as well as they could have for Shepard by a rather large margin. 'Rather large margin' being a euphemism for suffocated, pulped, charred, and frozen.

Honestly, I don't know what her reaction would be.  Like you said, her character is hard to read now..ME1 Liara would probably be sad and disappointed, but would support your choice as long as YOU are happy.  But now we got the "WTF happened" Liara in ME2...I really don't know how she's going to react now.  She still loves you, risked her life for your body, etc.  There's still issue 4 on Redemption and hopefully a Liara DLC, and hopefully with those we can predict her reaction.

If Liara was cheated on, she'd be heartbroken and sad. She'd understand, and wish you happiness. She'd most likely leave you, knowing you weren't the person she thought you were. She'd be strong and get over you in time. She'd enjoy the time you had, but be upset at you for throwing all that away, though she'd never say so. Liara isn't the type to get angry at you or your new lover. I don't think she would fight over you, she'd simply accept it. I don't think you could get her back, she'd be too sad and hurt.

Liara isn't crazy, and she hasn't changed. She's been doing all this for Shepard, and been thru hell. If Shepard was too stupid to see that, or just selfish and wanted a fling, rather then to be faithful...She'd know Shepard wasn't worth it anymore, and she'd move on. Liara loves Shepard more then anything, and will love and care more then anyone else ever could.

I’m reading all of what you guys are saying. And with this being the Liara support thread it’s a pretty good guess that she is the LI for your Sheapard.

But what if we look at it from the other side. If we had gone with Ashley for example. That’s where her reasons starts to fall apart for me. Why would she go this far for Ashley’s LI? The two don’t really get along, Ashley is no fan of Aliens. Why would Liara do all this for… well for Ashley. Unless it’s some ploy for Liara to win Sheapard over, and out of Ashley’s hands. But she had no idea that Cerberus could bring sheapard back from the dead.

Unless she is totally selfless. In that case she is a tool, and it would be a tool of Sheapards. That could be said for anyone on his team really…. What a sick barsted Image IPB. He is no better than TIM.

Liara loves Shepard regardless of who the Commander is with. She will still have a crush on Shepard and care for Shepard even if he or she gets it on with someone else. I <3 Liara, so selfless and caring.

But she is not. If she was totally selfless should would have left with sheapard when he asked her to come and fight the collectors, she didn’t. She has her own agenda. Guess we’ll just have to keep waiting for ME3. She is hard to read now.

Liara loves Shepard, even if it isn't returned. It's a selfless act on her part. That's part of what makes her so beautiful. She's willing to go thru all this for Shepard, just because. It's called true friendship. It doesn't happen often, but people will do heroic and selfless things for someone they care about. I can understand some people not understanding that, when most people today are so selfish and greedy. But go read any good Epic and you'll find a character like Liara. It's sad when love isn't returned, but sometimes, there is that one soul you're supposed to be with, it doesn't always work out. Liara is my Shepard's soulmate, and is happy to have her.

But we don't know exactly why she's like that yet. Maybe she was forced somehow to react that way. Hopefully a lot of that would be explained in the fourth issue of Redemption...hopefully.

Honestly, she doesn't go with Shepard, because the writers didn't want her to. It's out of character for her. It's a plot hole.

But 2 years in an Asari lifetime is like...2 days (exaggerating, but you know what I mean).  It doesn't make sense.  It better make sense sooner or later :crying:

It's not a plot hole. They wanted to expose you to new love interests and having Liara or Ash or Kaidan distant made it easier.

But I agree with Sakhalin. Seeing a creature that takes hundreds of years to mature change personalities in only two years is surprising.

Yes it is a very rare thing in life today. So rare you see it more in stories and games, oh and the news sometimes. But almost everyone does something for some reason, some agenda or some angle they want to work, just ask Aria Image IPB

You could say she is doing it for the greater good of the galaxy, but she is also doing it for herself in some way.

That is fair, She is doing it for herself in a way, because she loves Shepard. Even if that love isn't returned.

Having Liara back would be nice, if just to reel in her more aggresive tendences that have shown up.
