Liara will be killable or people will whine and call her a 'Mary Sue'.  :innocent:

It will be impossible to avoid pictures of it unless you avoid these forums.

Well theres no problem with Liara being killable in ME3 as long as there is a choice to prevent it

Yep, Liara's death in ME3 will be completely avoidable, and hopefully easily so.

There's no way any possible Liara death will be mandatory.

Marcin, I absolutely love that moment. Liara wakes up, and before sitting up properly she takes a few seconds to gaze lovingly at Shepard. Like ratz said, it's like Liara is saying "Hello beautiful, I love you so much."

The thing that perplexes me is, Why did Liara go hunting for Shepards corpse in the first place? romanced or not, doesn't make much sense unless she caught wind somehow of the Collectors wanting it (Not explained enough, poor writing).

She did nothing or said nothing about what to do with Benezia's corpse (poor writing) would have shown some bases for a ceremonial part of Asari culture for the dead.

I honestly don't think Bioware thought this aspect of the story out very well considering the outpoor of reactions to the romances in general, they wrote themselves into a box and are winging it.

If the don't give the players some sort of positive outcome for the romances they may well shoot themselves in the head or the players will heh.

I think Liara's motivation for seeking out Shepard's corpse was initially to give her lover/friend a proper and dignified sending off, and possibly get the last chance to say goodbye. Once she then hears of the SB's plot, that's when she beginds to do it to save Shepard's life, and stop the body being desecrated in that manner.

Basically, if you want to some up her motivation in a single word, I'd say it would be "love".

I've always wondered this.  Did someone contact her about the body or did she go hunting on her own?  The latter option doesn't make much sense to me...what would motivate her to start looking?  How did she know to travel to Omega?

So she had no love for her Mother? even at the begining of ME1 they give an option for Shepard to say something about the dead Jekins, showing some aspect of our own culture about the dead.

no, i think  it's because  she is shy by nature [and we know that she is] and is just not expressing it ALL-OUT-SHOUTING...

I posted earlier that I think Liara may have made tentative enquiries about Shepard's body, in the desire to give Shepard a dignified burial or whatever and give Liara a chance to say goodbye. TIM, obviously also on the hunt for Shepard's body, probably got wind of Liara looking and tipped her off that someone knows about Shepard's whereabouts on Omega. TIM then sends Feron, and that's how Liara knew to go to Omega.

I think it's different for Liara with Benezia because her body was right there, in front of her. Asari traditions surrounding death may be that the corpse is a vital aspect of saying goodbye. Or, it could be that Liara knew Benezia would have a dignified service when her body was recovered by the authrorities on Noveria, something which Liara would be able to attend.

Bottom line is, I think Liara's initial motive was to recover the body to give her friend/lover a dignified send off, and a last chance to say goodbye.

Well, I hope. I don't think I'd buy the game otherwise. Same if they'd force an ending where Shepard has to die. I'm sure they'll be tempted, as it would be an "elegant" way to avoid making several different endings, but I don't think I'd buy the game in that case either.

What happens if at the end of the game they force you to make a choice between Shepard dying and saving Liara's life, or your Shepard surviving and Liara dying?

For me, I'd save Liara's life every single time. I think my Shep would make the ultimate sacrifice for Liara's life.

I'm a die hard Liara romancer to the end, I'm just having concerns about Biowares handling of the whole storyline actually, the made a great game in ME1 then some bone head decided to chop the hell out of ME2 for what? a stupid comic, some ****** poor DLCs so far (Hammerhead, Alternate Attire for Jack anyway, glad Garrus got a FIXed suit) an Electric gun? whoopie. The Normandy crash site was eh ok, would have ment more if you could take Garrus or Tali or both and even have Kelly mention something about it, but all you get is a thank you from Hackett, yipee!

I HOPE they do a great job with Liara's storyline, but so far I am not impressed with who ever assumed control over at BW and chopped up ME2, someone got greedy I fear.

I would also without hesitation, but that would not make me trust BW to make any other decent games, they'd loose a customer, unless they plan to do the impossible yet again and rebuild Shepard.

I want a happy ending period, I don't want 4 years? of my time wasted on a game to make me sad in the end.

Yeah, a possible ending with Shepard dead and buried and Liara alone again would be awful, a real bittersweet ending. Sure, the Reapers have been stopped and the galaxy has been saved, but Liara would probably wonder what she has gotten in return. Her lover taken away from her again, and her once again been all alone. Sad.

Or Shep is given the choice between saving Liara or saving a colony of hundreds of innocent people.  Or Shep has to make a decision that will ultimately pit Liara against her/him. Or Liara has to sacrifice her life for Shep’s.

All of my Shepards would sacrifice themselves for Liara...even my crazy Renegade (though she's more 'Renegon' I guess).

Obviously, my Shepard would sacrifice her life to save Liara.  No question.  However, I don't think Bioware will let off the hook with such an easy decision.  I wouldn't put it past them to make us choose between saving Liara, and saving an entire colony, or even an entire planet.

You could go to planet A and save Liara, but planet B gets destroyed.  Or vice-versa.

/*i cut-quoted to save page space*/
i would sacrifice Shep for Liara, this would be his last-final act of his unquestionable love for her. obvious for us all i think.
i said like dozen pages earlier [or more] that if Liara would die before him, my Shep would not stand it and killed himself, so for me its either both live
---
or if BW forces otherwise [ i really tell you not to do do that BW or else [looks at Weapons-of Mass-Destruction-Order-Catalogue] {do you,Bioware, would prefer to be nuked or flooded  by a gigantic tsunami wave?} so BETTER DO NOT DO IT]
---
or both die [in forced situation, not natural death]
cos another rapid Shep death would shatter Liara's mind to pieces for ever....

it's pessimistic but that how it goes
natural death is totally different case....
anyway...must stay optimistic from now on again...
