Heh, I've got the big paperback book ordered too. I'll have each individual comic, plus this book. The things I do for Liara! ;-)

J's screenshot collection! She has so many awesome pics of Liara!

Thanks!  I figured it was from J, but didn't see any ME pics on her album ;p

This thread is serious win, guys!  Despite the recent unpleasantries, those were some very good, in-depth posts on hwat everyone sees in Liara.  Very fun read:blush:

I'd be quite annoyed if Redemption ends with Liara vowing revenge, and doesn't give us any insight into her predicament and situation in ME2. Unless that's all revealed in Liara's DLC of course.

I do believe that it's alot more complicated than what it appears to be and that TIM has a hand in Liara's suffering and the situation she finds herself in during ME2, and I hope it's explained at the end of #4 with it depicting TIM manipulating Liara some more, and Liara reluctantly agreeing to work with Cerberus in taking down the SB, and her beginning to suffer with the guilt for handing Shepard over and the feat that Shepard will hate her.

I don't really see how the comic is going to answer most of the questions we've raised over the last two months in what they have left (which would be 18 pages if it is the same size as the others, 22 story pages minus 4 for the peon beating scene preview)  I'm definitely hoping that we do get some meaningful answers, but I'm planning on being at least somewhat annoyed regardless.
It seemed like some dramatic pose and one-liner as an ending was pretty consistent with the storytelling direction of the comics.  I don't want that to happen and I'm certainly not an expert on comics, these Redemption ones were the first I've ever purchased.
At this point I'm pretty much just hoping it gives us something new to talk about, or at least adds another topic to the rotation, until Bioware actually announces some additional Liara related content.

Wait so that thing that comes out in June is actually just one big book with them all in it?

Same here, if it gives us something more to speculate on or discuss, then that will be one good thing to come from the comic ending.

I do live in hope that Redemption is going to answer alot of our questions and provide insight into Liara's situation in ME2. If it does turn out that Feron is working for Cerberus, as I think he is, then I think that will tie into TIM manipulating Liara into working with them, as he'll see her as a useful tool to use and to replace Feron, who is obviously going to be lost. I just think there really is something more to Liara's role and situation in ME2, there has to be a reason TIM flat out lied to Shepard about Liara at the beginning of the game, he obviously wants Shep to distrust Liara and remain distant from her. If he's driving a wedge between the two, it would explain alot, and I can really see it being TIM who planted Liara's worries about Shepard hating her and her doubt over handing the corpse to Cerberus.

Yep, plus I believe you get behind the scenes sketches and stuff. Sort of like special features on a DVD.

I don't expect much from the last comic to be honest. And while they, the comics in general, are about Liara, and give some tiny bits of back story, they are hardly anything special. Atleast not to me, anyway. And while I don't even really like them, but only got them, because of Liara, I'm even going to buy the book with all four of them in it also, just to show BioWare that we fans support anything with Liara, so they don't forget about her. Perhaps that is foolish of me, but sales numbers talk to these people, more then anything we post on the forums. I'm even going to buy the DLC coming soon, if only to help show support, that we are willing to pay for content if we have to, in the hopes they make some dealing with Liara.

Now, that said. I think we can expect a few more pages of fighting, the drell talking with Liara on a page, then the drell getting hurt or whatever on a page or two, Liara getting the body back might be two pages, then being confronted by Cerberus on two pages, who offer to rebuild Shepard on one or two pages, TIM making a deal with Liara about not being able to distract Shepard might take a page or two, then an ending with Liara vowing to kill the Shadow Broker. by my count, they can fit it all in. Will it be "good" maybe not, but I think they can do it.

If they don't handle this well, it will leave more questions then it answers.

... okay, can I safely ignore about the past three hours of posts?  (Not counting the pics, of course...)

Seriously, I think much better of this thread and the group that most of us share than what I was seeing on my way home.  (Don't worry, I was walking, I don't browse the 'net while driving.  Or drive.)

And ... this is what upsets me most ...

WHY DO THE FANS OF THE TWO MOST AWESOME CHARACTERS KEEP GETTING AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS?

Tali is almost as much awesomesauce as Liara is, is as preternaturally gifted as Liara (within a margin of error of the survey, so to speak), and was just as screwed over by ME2, in a way, as Liara, and for the same reason, the GD suicide mission.  (We're pissed that we only get Liara in two conversations ... but we know that we're getting her back, Talimancers can't be that sure!)

It's just absolutely insane that a Tali fan would come here and start sniping us, and then some of us started sniping back ... actually, I'm not sure who did the first 'shot'.  It's arguable both ways.  But ... we may not be in the same boat, but both Talimancers and Liarasexuals are in the same type of boat, and both have taken on a hell of a lot of water.  We need to be working WITH them if at all possible... which it probably isn't, but sinking to the level I saw... :(

Yeah, the problem I see with presenting this story in the comic medium is that it's hard to depict what I interpret Liara's emotions and the resulting effects on her motives convincingly. I've always thought that Liara is probably using the SB as a convenient figure to vent her emotional pain and guilt at, and that she feels that by destroying him it'll make her feel better again. Are we probably going to see that in the last issue of Redemption? I wouldn't have thought so, but I see her emotional pain and her struggle to deal with it as a big part of why Liara is in the situation she finds herself in during ME2.

Tali got to be squadmate again, Liara didn't. Tali got a romance, Liara got put on hold and cast into a dark place. This is at the heart of the matter. The Tali fans feel good about Tali and that they got the love and Liara and her fans didn't, thus they have a feeling of superiority. On taking a second look however, they notice how truly rich the Liara story is turning out to be, and they know that Tali got her moment in the spotlight, and that she is now effectively dead in regards to the story, and dead in many people's game. Liara is at the bottom now, and has no where to go but up. She is likely to get a DLC or expansion all her own, she got a comic, and she will be in ME3 for sure, and has a big role to play. Fear for Tali being done? Jealous of Liara getting a big role in ME3, or of her getting a comic/DLC/whatever? Take your pick.

Bolded for emphasis. It's lame that the heart of the matter is simply jealousy. Tali fans don't write the story, BioWare does, don't get mad at all of them for it. It really sucks we got shafted, hopefully it will get better. *shakes fist at Mac Walters*

Keep reading, I'm not mad at Tali fans, I'm one myself, I like her, but I don't love her. I love Liara, and she's the main focus for me. Unlike the Tali fans. I only dislike the crazy Tali fans that troll and spam, and start flamewars, or bash Liara or other characters for no reason, or without taking a true look.

Oh, seriously, sc, I'm looking back and not only did you feed the troll .. you were the troll to start!  It was actually civil then you fired the first attacks at Tali in your first post four hours ago.  Who's being insecure?  If you want to make a point, fine, but for crap's sake, from my eyes the thread unraveled when you posted, and I swear to God I think you're better than that.
