Seriously, I think much better of this thread and the group that most of us share than what I was seeing on my way home.  (Don't worry, I was walking, I don't browse the 'net while driving.  Or drive.)

And ... this is what upsets me most ...

WHY DO THE FANS OF THE TWO MOST AWESOME CHARACTERS KEEP GETTING AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS?

Tali is almost as much awesomesauce as Liara is, is as preternaturally gifted as Liara (within a margin of error of the survey, so to speak), and was just as screwed over by ME2, in a way, as Liara, and for the same reason, the GD suicide mission.  (We're pissed that we only get Liara in two conversations ... but we know that we're getting her back, Talimancers can't be that sure!)

It's just absolutely insane that a Tali fan would come here and start sniping us, and then some of us started sniping back ... actually, I'm not sure who did the first 'shot'.  It's arguable both ways.  But ... we may not be in the same boat, but both Talimancers and Liarasexuals are in the same type of boat, and both have taken on a hell of a lot of water.  We need to be working WITH them if at all possible... which it probably isn't, but sinking to the level I saw...

Tali got to be squadmate again, Liara didn't. Tali got a romance, Liara got put on hold and cast into a dark place. This is at the heart of the matter. The Tali fans feel good about Tali and that they got the love and Liara and her fans didn't, thus they have a feeling of superiority. On taking a second look however, they notice how truly rich the Liara story is turning out to be, and they know that Tali got her moment in the spotlight, and that she is now effectively dead in regards to the story, and dead in many people's game. Liara is at the bottom now, and has no where to go but up. She is likely to get a DLC or expansion all her own, she got a comic, and she will be in ME3 for sure, and has a big role to play. Fear for Tali being done? Jealous of Liara getting a big role in ME3, or of her getting a comic/DLC/whatever? Take your pick.

Oh, seriously, sc, I'm looking back and not only did you feed the troll .. you were the troll to start!  It was actually civil then you fired the first attacks at Tali in your first post four hours ago.  Who's being insecure?  If you want to make a point, fine, but for crap's sake, from my eyes the thread unraveled when you posted, and I swear to God I think you're better than that.

I know, and I know that was a mistake. I don't blame anyone but myself. I stand by what I said though. Should I have said it, I'll agree I shouldn't have. It's nothing new though, other people have said as much. I did try to be civil however. No excuses though. Want to hate me for it, go ahead. I'm sorry. I will defend myself by saying I've never posted in the Tali thread or groups. And if I ever did, I don't remember, as it would be one line, something like, I like and support Tali.

I tried to break apart the arguments and show how they failed however. I guess I had to "attack" Tali a little...and yes, I'm better then that, and thank you for saying so...I should have gone about it another way.

I do believe that it's alot more complicated than what it appears to be and that TIM has a hand in Liara's suffering and the situation she finds herself in during ME2, and I hope it's explained at the end of #4 with it depicting TIM manipulating Liara some more, and Liara reluctantly agreeing to work with Cerberus in taking down the SB, and her beginning to suffer with the guilt for handing Shepard over and the feat that Shepard will hate her.

I don't really see how the comic is going to answer most of the questions we've raised over the last two months in what they have left (which would be 18 pages if it is the same size as the others, 22 story pages minus 4 for the peon beating scene preview)  I'm definitely hoping that we do get some meaningful answers, but I'm planning on being at least somewhat annoyed regardless. 
It seemed like some dramatic pose and one-liner as an ending was pretty consistent with the storytelling direction of the comics.  I don't want that to happen and I'm certainly not an expert on comics, these Redemption ones were the first I've ever purchased.
At this point I'm pretty much just hoping it gives us something new to talk about, or at least adds another topic to the rotation, until Bioware actually announces some additional Liara related content.

I've been buying comics since they were .25 cents each and I think you are spot on.  I’m not expecting any big reveal at the end nor am I expecting much in the way of any new “important” information. So far, what Redemption has done is it has expounded on what we already know.  It gave us details on the story Liara told us in ME2. We know the name of her friend, we know that the Shadow Broker used Blue Suns and a big ass Salarian to get Shepard’s body; we know these events started on Omega, but as a whole, nothing majorly new has come up. Redemption, for all the hype, is like a decoder ring.  It's fun to have while listening to "Little Orphan Annie." but in the end all that really matters is that you drink your Ovaltine. 

Obviously, I could be completely wrong and that would actually be nice.  I was
wrong about who Twilight was in the Buffy comic, so who knows.

I like seeing all the Liara screenshots. I should play thru ME1 again and grab some of my own, sometime. I've been meaning to go thru as a renegade that makes a few good choices here and there, rather then a pure renegade playthru, which I have done two of. Normally I always play paragon.

I *like* Tali also, her and Liara were the only two my soldier Shepard took out in ME1, but a romance isn't something I even considered in the least for Tali, to me it sort of came out of the blue in ME2, well good on Malesheps I suppose, no interest here for any of my 27 Femsheps, or the 1 Maleshep I managed to get to ME2 with. Liara is the only one that has found her way into my heart from either game.

Like I said above, I think that there's alot more going on with Liara than we're being told in ME2, and that TIM has something to do with it. There's a reason as to why he lies about Liara at the beginning of ME2, and he's obviously deliberately trying to keep them apart whilst Shepard is working for him. If Liara is indeed working for Cerberus, then she'll be privy to alot of sensitive and incriminating information, something that TIM would not want Shepard to know. Hence, he tries to keep them apart.

I agree that TIM and Cerberus are behind what Liara does when we see her again. We are pretty sure she did all this, and is doing all this, for Shepard, thus it's stupid that she doesn't just then go with Shepard, they need a better bigger reason then just, "I have to kill the Shadow Broker because I hate him now." because we know this isn't who Liara is. Besides, who better then Shepard to be with, when trying to do something like that?

If TIM hadn't lied to Shepard at the start of the game, then ok, I can see how we might just be seeing things that aren't there. But I see no other way to explain why he would lie, then clearly trying to keep them apart. Thus it stands to reason that he would lie to Liara also, telling her Shepard is going to hate you now, or forcing it upon her, to not makeup with Shepard.

Does anyone have a better reason, why Liara doesn't drop everything and go with Shepard, is she truely lost to hate and anger now? That might be true, but I hope it isn't that simple. I would hope BioWare is better then that. Now, I know, we have to take into account, that they did this to keep her alive, but the story doesn't know it's just a story, nor does the Mass Effect world, know that it is just game. If you know what I mean.

If Liara couldn't let Sheaprd go, then why let go again, when you got want you wanted back, and it's standing right in front of you?

I should take my asari blue TestShep around to some other areas in ME2 to do some more color testing like I did on the Normandy and Illium. It'd be annoying if there was some global change with the adjustments they made to lighting and color in the engine for ME2. Like if the colors are ok in enclosed areas like the Normandy and the Citadel, but go all grey in areas with "outside" parts like Illium.

I need to know if Liara is going to be all sassy blue running around with us in the future.
