One thing I'd like to mention, if you go to groups and sort by most viewed, we're right on the tail of the Tali fanclub, which is amazing considering we have 1/3 of their numbers. I joined when we had less than 100 members. Now we're over 450 in just 2 weeks. We'll get there, so keep fighting the good fight. I hope to see more fan art from you if you get the inspiration. The fanclub needs things like that

The artist has got some other great pieces of Liara artwork, too.

Well I prefer her without a wig so she can stop that research, but yes that artist is very talented.

Oh yeah, I have another idea floating around in this gigantor head of mine. When I get some time, I'll do it. I'll be around for a while.

That however brings up a litany of reasons as to why she is acting as she is. Granted Bioware really screwed the ppoch when they didn't acknowledge their romance in the least... but I have thought about this a lot. One avenue is that this "friend" could very well be a daughter she had while Shepard was gone. The SB kidnapped her after she was born in retaliation for taking Shepard's body. Knowing he was going on this Collector mission she obviously would not tell him about the child for fear he would not return or he would drop everything to go after his daughter and ruin all the work she had done so far in discovering where the SB was keeping her.
Far fetched I know... but it's plausible. Looking back and examining her dialogue I have come to the conclusion she is protecting someone or something, I can't see her as the revenge type. Not telling Shepard gives her time to discover what she needs to find out before she does tell him. TIM could have warned or threatened her in some way to keep her silence, perhaps he is actually the one holding something over her head and she just doesn;t realize it.
Whatever the reason... she is not telling Shepard something and it's not because she doesn't love him. She as much admits that in the dialogue if you catch the inflection in her voice. This leads me to believe that we will get a DLC or expansion to close this loop hole before ME3. We can't have Liara on the team in ME3 unless whatever past she is struggling with is resolved.
I just might write a story about it myself... try and squeeze it in between chapters of my other novel.
We'll see. Here's hoping Bioware doesn't stick it too us and leave this situation without any closure. That would really suck and it would cause me to never buy another Bioware game again.

If there isn't that connection to a character then it just becomes one more game I finish and forget about. ME1 was special for me because after a certain point finishing off Saren and Sovereign stopped being an end and became a means. In ME2 the first thing I did after coming back through the Omega-4 relay was make a dash to Illium. I didn't even talk to my crew, just hit that galaxy map and took off.

Because of Liara did anyone else get kind of misty-eyed when Mordin talks about his nephew? I know I did. Saving the galaxy is obviously a good thing, but it is hard to personalize. Mordin had his nephew that was worth preserving and gave him a personal reason to not only accomplish the mission but to come back alive. He had his nephew and I had Liara. I enjoy having characters you can care about as a personal motivation beyond the "save the galaxy" trope.

Indeed. I haven't tried this myself, at least the part where I tried actually continuing the game, because I feared npcs would -all- relate to me exactly as they did before. I wouldn't really expect something like Morrowind where everyone knows that you saved them since it was kindof an undercover mission, but one would expect at least more informed people to aknowledge at the very least that you had done something impossible by going through and returning from the Omega-4 relay.
Especially Liara.

i did just the same!!! but after not notice any change in Liara's dialogue except "how's your work?" still there, in sorrow i ran trough galaxy, scanned every little planet, done every little N7 mission, and then exhausted returned to Ilium, still no change so i put my shep to capitain's cabin to stare at Liara pic and wait for DLC [game sitting in the drawer] ...JPfanner wrote...

You know... I was just replaying the scene with Liara on a playthrough and I remember someone said she didn't know Cerberus was going to bring you back. That is not correct at all.. She states very plainly that she knew Cerberus was going to bring you back to life. Don't know why it took me so long to catch that...

I can't hide that i would very much like that Liara reveals she got pregnat and she didn't want to endanger her and Shepard's daughter. But the thing is, this will only work if Shepard was her lover in ME1. If Shep was not her lover, there can be no child right? Unless then it would be with someone else, but that won't make much sense that after her first true love turned her down, she quickly chose someone else and concived a child.
But the idea that she is protecting something or someone important from Shepard is nevertheless promising, and despite my scepticism, i would so LOVE if it turns out that Liara only hides her daughter from you *heartwarming Liara thoughts*.
Though i don't know if she would risk her daughter and let the father go on a suicide mission.

I've said it before, but wouldn't that be rather ackward for Shep's that romanced Ash/Kaidan?
