Morning everyone! I'd like to start the day with a beautiful picture of Liara looking all sweet and demure when asked about her other parent:

Image IPB

:wub::wub:

What JP said earlier about the crew gossiping about asari sexual prowess once Liara is on board got me thinking. It really is quite sad how Liara isolates herself in her little room. She knows that the crew view her with suspicion due to her being Benezia's daughter, so I can imagine that plays on her mind. She probably likes the solitude, and prefers to be alone in her little room out of everyone's way.

Hi, Liara fans. I hope I'm not disturbing you or anything, but the March Mayhem on Escapist is currently going, and it's BioWare vs. Blizzard in the current round. Since I'd love to see Bio winning, I thought I'd post a link to the poll here, since this thread is one of the bigger ones.

BioWare vs. Blizzard

BioWare is currently leading, but Blizzard has been quickly catching up in the last hour.

Just to be at least a little bit on-topic - I liked Liara. She wasn't my number 1, but I certainly will like to see her again in ME3.

It is sad that Liara shuts herself away from everyone, she knows they don't trust her, and then they go talking about her behind her back. Poor Liara, just hanging out in the back of med-bay. It's ok though, she gets to move into the captains cabin before Ilos, and she and Shepard get to make everyone jealous with cries of passion that echo thruout the ship. Let them gossip about that. I could see Liara enjoying some PDoAs with Shepard to further make everyone jealous and gossip.

Morning LET. Always nice to come here when you already started the day xD

on the isolation - she said it herself, she is not a people person. She would constantly think about how she doesn't want to seem awkward and trying to fit in - which would result in her being awkward^^ But that would also make her umcomfortable so I think it would have been nice for Shepard to slowly make her more comfortable around people.
Personally, I'd like to have the opportunity to share with everyone that I'm with Liara - I mean openly...I think that would have greatly increased her confidence - even around people.

Imagine Shepard saying they were together in a live-interview with her standing next to him/her - how she would blush :wub::wub:

I don't care about Blizzard and their games, but I don't have much good will left for BioWare/EA either.

Hmm? What has BioWare done wrong lately? If this is about Liara's role in ME2 - I wouldn't judge them too harshly before ME3 comes out. Supposedly, Liara will play a rather big role in that one.

I would have loved to have heard Dr Chakwas talk about Liara at some point. I'm sure they would have spoken to and interacted with each other on a fairly regular basis, so it would've been good to hear her talk about Liara in some fashion.

But yeah, it is quite sad that Liara isolates herself. Maybe she likes it that way though. She is very reclusive, and probably enjoys the solitude, and not having to deal with and speak to many people.

Don't even get me started on Blizzard...and BioWare needs to redeem themselves, I'm waiting to see how they handle the last comic and the Liara DLC or lack there of. At this point, I'm not sure if I'm getting ME3...if Liara isn't there, or is sidelined again/more, I won't be.

Let's just say I'm generally not very happy with ME 2, not in comparison to what I hoped for after ME 1. The details are not for this thread, but indeed the way they treated the ME 1 LIs (especially Liara), and how they treated and treat the fans, is one major reason.

Oh, and Awakening didn't exactly do much to improve my view of BioWare/EA either.

It has been pretty much confirmed that Liara only played a minor role in ME2 to make sure she would be alive in everyone's game in ME3, so she can play a big role there, from what I've heard, so you shouldn't worry too much.

I think it shows how she feels about Shepard that she can so openly talk to him/her whereas she isolates herself from the rest of the crew.

I would have liked to see Chakwas stop Shepard one time when going in to talk with Liara, or atleast have that dialogue show up when you are romancing Liara, and make some comment about it. Kind of like Wynne in DA:O. Chakwas could ask what's going on, and if it's what she thinks...Shepard could then tell Chakwas to mind her own business or talk about being in love with/falling for Liara.

It's more then  just Liara though...ME2 in general, and then take into account Awakening. BioWare seems to be forgetting about its fans, and trying to make "action" games now. We want RPGs, that's why we buy from them. There are much better shooters or squad type combat games out there.

Yep, it shows how much she trusts and loves Shepard that she speaks openly to her. Even though she doesn't like speaking to people, and prefers to be alone, she'll slowly open up and talk to Shepard as her trust and love deepens. It's very sweet!

The Chakwas scene in ME 2 is in my opinion one of the few really good moments that game has. But, of course, once again the ME 1 LIs are totally ignored in a situation where it would be a simple matter of course to allow Shepard to bring them up.

You would think of anyone that would talk to you about Liara, it would be Chakwas, but no...nothing...totally forgotten...but we get to talk about Joker, that bastard that got Shepard killed.

Hmm, I have to admit that I liked most of the changes they made with ME2. I seriously love the new combat system. Granted, the levelup system may seem to have less depth now, but the dialogue etc. is still top-notch, and I personally would still consider it an amazing RPG.
But now I'll let this thread get back on-topic. Have a nice day, Liara fans! And hopefully at least a few of you feel like  voting for BioWare on the MM.

Forgive my off-topic rant. I haven't lost all faith in BioWare, or I wouldn't be hanging out on these forums and looking forward to SWTOR.

The drinking with Chakwas was a very nice moment, indeed.
And by not mentioning the former LIs the game wastes some potential. Just one or two sentences would have been enough, imo. And there have been many situations where it could have been mentioned, like Chakwas, Joker talking about the good ol'd time,...
When are the old Love mentioned? Ash/Kaidan: Cameo appearence and an e-mail. (is that all?)
Liara: Kiss on Illium (the rest is the same for LI and nonLI, or?)

Ashley and Kaidan, are both talked about to Shepard by Joker and Kelly, plus the email. No one talks about Liara to Shepard.

Hello Derumiel ;-)
No it's not all the same. She talks to you a bit different. Not the words but how she speaks to you. She gives you smile or a look that she doesn't give you when you haven't romanced her.

It's so very subtle though, that it might as well not be there. I barely noticed it.

Yeah BioWare could've done way better than that :-/

Nothing to forgive, no harm done!
