Ok gang, before I hit the sack, I want to leave a thought with you all to muddle about in your minds. Something
Liara says when she is telling Shepard why she is reserved about the relationship, this is before Virmire or Ilos, has me thinking. I transcribed the whole conversation but will just leave the part that causes me pause.
Liara: A true union goes far beyond an ordinary melding. It is a connection that transcends the physical universe.
Liara: Two become one. Thoughts and senses merge. Identities intertwine. Memories and emotions weave themselves together, becoming entangled in a single, rapturous whole.
Liara: It is unlike any other experience. in some cases, it can be a truely life-changing event.
Shepard: Are you saying....?
Liara: No! Oh, no! Uh, I am not very good at this, am I? I'm sorry, Shepard. I am trying to explain why I have been so.. reserved.
Liara: The union is more then just sex. It is the life-blood of my species, the way we asari evolve and grow as a society.
Liara: That is why I have never... uh, I mean, that is why we must choose our partners with great care.

Why would they (asari) need to choose partners with great care if there wasn't going to be a product of the union?
and the evolve and grow part.
We don't know anything about their reproduction beyond the meld, I mean if a pregnancy is longer or anything

I really need to join the custom-av revolution soon, as well...
And by the way, tonight...? I did Illium with my Adept, Anya Shepard, and I was staring at the screen like you wouldn't believe, reading LiLi's expressions. And I've noticed she looks sadder than she sounds when she says she can't come with Shepard, for one thing... which is an accomplishment.
Also she's totally blue and beautiful on my TV, but only by the window. Which I still think that she should've stayed by the window so us LiLi lovers could've gotten a chance to hug her from behind and whisper in her ear and tell her "I couldn't possibly hate you, Liara"...
*sighs dreamily* ... oh well, maybe that's where and how they'll part ways for the end of the DLC. Unless our utterly wildest dreams come true ...?

Jayla, I'm glad you've also noticed Liara's somewhat different expressions if she's your LI, how she smiles alot more, how there's less frowning, and how she seems almost regretful and apologetic when she tells Shepard that she can't come with her. In a non-LI Liara reunion, she sounds almost irritated and snappy when she says that. You can see what they were going for, trying to alter the tone and feel of the Liara reunion so that she is warmer and more loving towards Shepard if she's your LI, but it's waaay too subtle. I'm very confident that we'll finally be able to comfort and console Liara in her DLC, allow Liara to open her heart to us, and rekindle and reaffirm the romance. I want my Shepard to embrace her fully, and tell her that I could never hate her and that everything is going to be alright. I can't wait, I want more Liara love!

I have yet to see a difference. It must be too sublte for me I guess.
