Right, but one alternative is that Liara's role in the SB DLC will be tiny with absolutely no romance content.  This way, Liara really doesn't get anything extra.

What also needs to be remembered is that any DLC featuring Ash or Kaidan will be alot more complex and intricate, due to it literally being either one of them that features. They have to record double the amount of lines, due to them being two seperate characters. It's alot more work.



Liara's DLC will be about Liara and Liara alone. She doesn't have the problem of being tied to another character, all of her content is her own. There's less work necessary with her DLC and possible romance content, so I see it as being a far greater possibility.

Which I think is not what will happen. The way Liara has been written in Redemption and ME2, with all of her suffering, her guilt surrounding handing Shepard over to Cerberus and her love for Shepard, it would feel completely false, unnatural and artificial if there wasn't deep, emotional content with Liara in the DLC, with extra lines or a scene if she's your LI.

Liara has been written that way in ME2 for a very clear reason, and they can't just ignore it in the DLC when it's supposed to be expanding on it.

I highly doubt that is what BioWare would do, they spent all this time on the emotional development od Liara's character, why would they throw it away?
As long as they know they will make a profit off of it, they don't really care about equality for the LIs.

If they were going to cast Liara off, they would have put no character development into the game for her, she would have been on Ilos or something similar. As much as I would have liked a happy and loving reunion, BioWare tried to make it emotional in a different way.

Time is money for BioWare, they wouldn't waste time on Liara if they weren't going to give us an emotional DLC.

Considering Biowares record on DLC thats certainly possible,even if there is romance content I have my doubts that it will be more then one or two extra lines and maybe a kiss or something if Bioware feels like it,but it will not adressing things like cheating on Liara or something

On a sidenote I wouldnt take this whole romance pack thing thats flying around too serious,to me that whole remark sounded more like some sort of joke

Not really. I'll see if I can find the article, but in an interview they said it's something they're considering. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to mention it.

Like I said, I believe Liara's DLC to be different, in that it has been developed concurrently with the rest of the game, and therefore utilised BW's full time, attention and resources that were used for the rest of the game. Also, what we're going to download will be Liara's full ME2 role, and would have been included with the retail version of the game if not for Redemption's existence, and the reluctance to spoil it.

I'm sorry to say JustinStuff it will more than likely RRoD eventually but still *knocks on wood for you*. I spent $65 in modded fans to prevent the F*ckin RRoD and it still happened to me:pinched:

Wow, a lot of unlucky xbox users besides me and Baal. *knocks on more wood*

@gamer - My xbox sees almost constant attention. If I'm not gaming it serves as my netflix box, whether it's streaming or on the DVD that came in the mail. I guess I'm just a really lucky individual.

@noxis - I know it's just a consideration at this point, but it would really alleviate a ton of tension and angsty posters on this board. It would be a huge hit I bet.

@Indigo - Yeah I realize that, but there's nothing wrong with dreaming about the possibilities :)

I don't know if I want to think that what they did with Liara's character in ME2 was intentional emotional development.  I tend to think they were just being careless, since Liara and her development was not their main focus for the game.

Yes, but so far it hasn't really been worth it. Kasumi is going to be Zaeed 2.0. The Hammerheads controls worked well, but the missions were too easy and there wasn't even a healthbar. Each mission took a whole 10 minutes to beat. I just hope the Prothean relic ties in with Liara in some way.
