I wish Shepard had a greybox with lots of Liara memories.
Always thought the picture in your cabin should have been clickable to trigger such memories, but...

"You asked dammit! I didn't come begging for favors not even when..[she pauses] I'm sorry. You're right. Do what you have to do, Shepard. I'll help you however you can."
This surprised the crap out of me! I've never gone with that option because let's face it, I doubt any of us can deny her.

Just visited Liara on Illium. After I ask her if she would come with me on my mission she then goes on about how she can't because of her commitments. After she asks me if I want to hack for her, I decided to go with the renegade option and tell her I didn't have time for hacking. She then says this as she slams her hand on the desk:

OMG she does that? I don't ever want to see her to do that! Yeah I can't deny her either. Even my super Renegade Shep didn't choose that option (plus we get Renegade points for hacking for her anyway?). The only Renegade option I chose was "You did this to me!" when she said she gave my body to Cerberus. She doesn't get angry, just "I had to make a choice, it was either Cerberus, or the Collectors. I'm sorry, I had to make the right choice."

Did you romance her with this character in ME1?

Yeah, it really makes me all sad that they put in options like that to hurt her but none to comfort or support her. She does everything for you and the most you can do for her in return is sit there like a freaking toad.
true that. <_<

Yep, that's my main Shep. I just did it out of curiosity and then reloaded cause I felt so bad.

I was wondering that as well. It doesn't really make any sense to bring it up unless Shepard would be the one she would be coming to. But Shepard was dead and lying around on a slab for two years. I know some time passes between waking up on that base and getting on the Normandy, but I don't think it is a lot.Unata wrote...

Maybe she's referring to when she first hears that you're alive again, like how it travels ahead of you when you go to Omega. You definitely owe her, but she never tries to get anything out of you for that. She might just be getting mad and starting to saying something like most people would have hunted you down right away and tried to get something out of you for doing even a fraction of what she did.
She's willing to help you find Thane and Samara right away, no questions asked. Then when you ask her if there is anything you can do for her and she tells you what she needs help with, then you turn around and moan about it, that probably just (rightly) gets on her nerves what a jerk you're being. But she is good person, and a better person than that jerk Shepard sitting in front of her, so she reins in her temper and still tries to help Shepard.

I've always thought that Liara's anger when Shep acts a jerk to her, and ridicules and belittles her hunt for the Shadow Broker out of her own ignorance, is more frustration at herself for not feeling able to reveal to Shepard just what has happened with Cerberus, the Collectors and Shepard's corpse. She probably knows that she appears obsessed with a petty vendetta, and truly wants to tell the person that she loves most about what happened so that Shepard understands her, but she's just too afraid that Shep will hate her, and she's too guilty. So when Shepard chastises her for her hunt for the Shadow Broker out of her own ignorance of Liara's situation, Liara gets frustrated with herself that she can't properly tell the person shes loves just what has happened due to her guilt.
Bottom line is, at no point do I ever see Liara get genuinely angry or irritated at Shepard. It's frustration at herself.

Hmm, could it possibly be that Liara is about to refer to her saving Shepard's body from the Collectors, and handing the corpse over to Cerberus? "I didn't come begging for favours, not even when I saved your life". But she obviously stops herself as she doesn't want Shepard to know, because as we all know Liara is afraid Shepard will hate her. Could you imagine how Liara's heart would have almost been in her mouth when she realises just what she was about to say? It's why her anger at Shep being a jerk to her dissipates so quickly. It's fear.

Really though, once her apology is out in the open there needs to be a more conversation options with her where you can actually TALK about what she did. It feels really artificial to exclude that - it's way too obvious they are trying to hold it back and keep the player in the dark (or have stuff to talk about in DLC or ME3).
It makes the conversation feel completely unnatural though.

Ok, maybe that's it, I suppose there would have been alot of time from getting first 4 squaddies and the next group where Ilium pops up on the map, but dang, these two REALLY need a heart to heart, to much crap being assumed and second guessed.

I don't think she's angry at Shepard, she's angry at not being able to say anything. Afraid of what will happen if she does, etc.

Totally agree here, bring your bat, cue stick, broom stick, whatever and let's go to BW and beat it outa them.

It would of been nice, I agree, maybe if you could click on the photo in your cabin, and remember things, like you do at the Normandy crash site.
That would have been so great... *dream*

Driven what I've always thought is that they deliberately prevent Shepard from properly comforting Liara, or bringing up the relationship at all because they want to maintain the status quo for the benefit of the Liara DLC. They need for Liara to still be emotionally tormented, guilty and sorrowful for her DLC mission because that's where they want Shep to finally have the ability to comfort and console Liara, and help ease her pain. They also want to have the proper romantic reconciliation and rekindling happen in the DLC mission too. Due to this, they have to maintain the status quo of "Liara is haunted by her guilt and is emotionally tormented from what happened, and Shepard is unsure of their relationship". It's an incredibly contrived way of doing it, and smacks of ****** poor writing, but that's what they've had to do in order to avoid spoiling Redemption and to maintain the status quo for the DLC.
They threw in the scene where Liara opens up to Shepard to make it obvious that Liara still cares for, is devoted to and loves Shepard deeply, and they articificially stop you from comforting her because they want that to happen in the Liara DLC.
