Yeah, I find it odd that they decided to tell us "you will be rewarded for staying faithful", and then hitting the reset button afterwards. It's messed up.

We're not talking about a romance with Feron so much as some rather shoddy decisions, it seems.
Part of me still sees ways they can write themselves out of this hole, but it depends on if they do that or not or if this is merely just a way to "even the playing field" for ME 2 players.

The happy pic is a lie. This is no more happy right now.
I think in ME 3 we will see almost a "re-romance" option for our ME 1 LI's. A getting to know them again sort of thing.

I haven't played DA:O fully yet. I'm
working on it. This Leliana sounds like a parallel. It's like it's the
new BioWare thing to do or something.

The crux of what's upsetting people is that Liara isn't disclosing her full motives for hunting the SB at the end of Redemption. It's misleading.
Look at it logically people. Look at how much she obviously still cares deeply for Shepard in the ME2 reunion. Look at how she doesn't even like Feron throughout Redemption.
It's just an incredibly sh!t way they handled Liara 's compassion, and appreciating Feron's sacrifice. They way they've depicted it means it's been completely misconstrued.
That said, I think I'm just about done with this series. After this current session on here, I may not come back. I don't know, I've had enough.

It will be the ultimate lameness if ME 3 players who never played the first game get to romance Liara with the same outcome as ME 1 players who put up with being treated like a mere acquaintance.

Well, Leliana
doesn't appear in the Awakening Add-On. (like most other former
squaddies). Just one sentence in the epilog. It's just an AddOn so, imo,
its difficult to compare to Liara.
But Lelianan is by far my most
favorite Character in DAO, much like Liara in ME.
And thanks for the happy pic, justin. Just what i needed.

I was curious to know how the Redemption comic would turn out, and it turned out pretty much how I expected it would. I've never read a comic based on a television show or game that was good. Either it has decent writing and a horrible artist. Or it has a decent artist and horrible writing. Or both are horrible.
The problem is that the events of the comic become canon to Liara's character. It'll be referenced in the wikis. People will bring up elements of the comic during debates. I could try to ignore it, but it's out there. Even if I ignored it and continued with my own interpretation of who Liara is, people will keep pointing out why my interpreation is wrong because of what was in the comic.
Such is the danger of asking for more than what the main story gives you. They can give you more, but it's not going to be what you're expecting. Sometimes that's good. This time it's bad.

Willing to bet more liara content will come with the expansion. Seems like an odd thing to do dlc for.

Don't give up folks. It took sloppy writing to get us here and it make take a few logical leaps in ME 3 but I imagine you'll get your happy reunion, though the rewards for being "loyal" may be few and far between it will still be a pay off.
Think of it like this, if Square made ME 2 they would have gotten Liara killed by a bad guy with long hair and a giant sword.

I'm totally pissed though justin. People are abandoning and slagging off Liara's character now because of the sh!t writing in the comic, and because she doesn't fully explain all of her motives at the end.
Need I remind everyone that she even says that she's hunting the SB because of Shepard in ME2?
It's just that the comic has been badly mis-scripted. ME2 shows that Liara still deeply loves Shepard, and only appreciates Feron's sacrifice, not Feron himself.
But because they had Liara say the wrong thing at the end, and didn't script it properly, all of this has happened.
I don't think I'm going to be able to take this forum. There's a good chance I'm gone. I don't know, I'll see how I feel later.
