Liara is worried about Shepard hating her, but not about Cerberus, it's about Feron.
What we see as grief, sadness, worry, fear, loneliness, could just as easily be about Feron, and not Shepard.
Liara could be worried about Feron, she doesn't give up everything to be with Shepard again, when he/she walks back into her life. She has nothing keeping her on Illium but herself and this need to find Feron.
Liara doesn't want Shepard's help when it is offered, because she doesn't want Shepard to learn about Feron, because she fears Shepard will hate her for it. With good reason.
She basically lies to us, and makes us think it was all about Shepard, but now we know, Shepard was an afterthought at this point.
No. She even says in-game that she was afraid Shepard would hate her, because she handed the corpse over to Cerberus. She frigging says it.
The only reason you are thinking this is because she doesn't state her full motives at the end of Redemption, motives which she discloses in ME2. It's just plain sh!t writing that all she says is about Feron at the end of Redemption.
Plus, it's not like she's actually liked him throughout Redemption either, is it? She appreciates his sacrifice for her. That's all.
If there's one thing Liara has never been good at, it's lying. Remember ME1? How Ashley was prepared to tease Liara because she never lies?
The guilt, sadness, sorrow, lonliness and everything is over Shepard.
Do not let Redemptions crap writing colour your opinion of Liara.

Once again, I urge everyone to go out and buy #4 for themselves. There's a lot of meaning to be found in the formatting of the text and in body language and facial expressions, and, as we all know, there's a reason Mass Effect: Redemption is called "Reaction Images: The Comic" by some.
I'll quote you again. Please don't think that the people here in this thread are angry with you in any way.

Guess it's time for me to be the voice of optimism for once, though? Don't forget that someone from BioWare explicitly stated that you would be able to continue the romance in ME 3.
Incorrect, if I remember correctly. They said there would be a conclusion to the romances in ME3. Having a side mission to save Feron and watch him and Liara ride off into the sunset or having her turn into Darth Shadow Broker and try to kill you would certainly be a conclusion to the romance

I have a feeling we are going to see a potential for Liara to become "dark side", but I think a lot of that will depend on how you interact with her. If you give up, maybe she does become Darth T'Soni.
Also, Bioware, as I said, has never really given crappy endings...I don't know why they would start now.

no Liara bashing, we all still clearly love her, that's why there's so much anger as to how she's been handled
Guaranteed in a couple of weeks we see an interview with Casey or Mac about the comic and they gush about how great the fan reception was to the comic and how much people loved the direction the characters took.

I f*cking hate those posts...
Back to topic:
I get the feeling most people how really are upset take the comics too seriously. It is "just" the story how Sheps body was saved by our Liara, right?
I wouldn't interpredt too much in a comic, because we still see her (hidden) feelings in ME2. And imo, that is what should be important.
Just my thought ^^

I'm suddenly seeing the whole kiss/headshake moment in her office in a whole new light, and I'm really hoping I'm wrong. It was lame when she couldn't show affection because she was being spied upon, but if she pulls away because Shep isn't the one with lizard lips, I will be very, very angry.
If we encounter Feron at any point in the future, I hope there's a Renegade option, as my Shep will happily push him out a window. And she's a Paragon.
Why would she worry about being spied on?? She's going off about wanting to kill the SB non-stop, what's the problem with one little kiss?
About Feron: I have no desire to harm him as none of this is his fault. He should be commended for helping Liara. He was just doing his thing. The blame for the Liara/Shepard thing going to hell lies with one of them since it's their relationship (more realistically, it lies with Mac Walters).
1st Point: You know that, and I know that, but apparently the writers do not. I said it was lame.
2nd point: It would still be satisfying. As for helping Liara, he's a triple agent, he has many masters. Whether he actually got an attack of conscience at the end remains to be seen. Maybe he faked his death to avoid backlash from his other two employers, maybe he got captured, maybe he did the heroic thing. Dunno, but I think he's a sneaky dude who will always look out for no. 1 first.<_<
In summary: Argh! Come back to us, Drew!

I just read the comic...slowly. There is no Feron romance. tops she is guilty that she misjudged feron, but hell he triple crossed her. He did sacrifice himself for Shep and Liara though. She feels guilty for losing Feron, but more she feels she has , indeed, lost Shephard. She thinks he is gone...gone...gone...dead or as good as dead.Cartims wrote...

Stop knee jerking everyone. Please.
There is no romance with Feron. Just calm the fcuk down.
But there's no
romance with shep so WTF
When he re-enters her life 2 years later, well, I'm sure she didn't know what to feel.
I'm sure loving and losing someone is worse than just losing them. She loves Shep, but damn, she can't adjust her emotions or accept them when they see each other again. She tries the kiss, but the guilt of Feron comes up, the guilt of her wanting to let his body die.
Liara is a bundle of guilt and loss. liara is a truly decent person--one of the only ones in ME so far. She is troubled , so let her have her time to deal with her emotions. the comic isn't that bad and it doesn't contadict anything that we all hoped for anyway.

Solid theory. Maybe to get at Cerberus?screwoffreg wrote...
One thing about Feron is why would there be ANY hope of him being alive? What possible reason would there be for the SB not to kill him?
