Feron's "sacrifice" wasn't nearly as sad as Gandalf's "Run...you fools!" Now thats a sacrifice...

It's hard to beat the epicness that is LotR. In any shape or form :P

So...am I permitted to say that I'm still looking forward to Liara's DLC yet?

I think the thread has calmed down with the sobering though we probably won't hear about Liara until at least ME 3 so we can at least hope for some glorious reunion...that is if we CHOOSE to embrace her by then.

everyone should forget the comic existed and go read screwoffreg's fanfics they are much more emotionally satisfying

And I certainly will, because I'm not a jealous pleb you doesn't analyse, read between the lines, doesn't recognise the comic's bad dialogue and how it's mis-scripted, and realises that Liara still cares deeply for my Shepard, and doesn't have romantic feelins for Feron and only wants to save him because of his sacrifice, not Feron himself.

Don't forget that even IF Liara had developed any feelings for this Feron, it would have been while she still thought Shepard was dead. In fact, that would be a viable plot element for the "rocky" relationship they promised. Of course in the end, she recognizes Shepard was always the one and only (if the player wants it to be). There's only the "slight" problem that nothing of it actually happens in ME 2. But it might yet happen in a DLC or expansion. I'm not saying that it will, my own opinion on that matter is clear, but everything is still at least possible.

The whole problem waiting for a DLC, a peep, a squeak about anything coming down the line other then ME3 (since it is a trilogy) is that what happens between now and then if you get run over by a Mac Truck on your way to whatever important real life thing you have going on and you end up as road paint before you find out. very frustrating with those sorts of possiblities hanging over you.

Ya'll are just flattering me. I hope you do enjoy what I write. Someone has to....

With that said, I plan to incorporate this turn of events in my own current creation. I already have a very good way to do it...just have to get past ME 1 events first...

I don't know what to say...I'm a bit disappointed... imho the story has been really bad written...but I believe Liara still loves Shepard...I think we can still hope in a future Liara dlc...

Whelp, the comic really wasn't good. They took 4 issues to explain something that would have been done in one and not lost anything. Not to mention it's pretty obvious the scripter hadn't played ME1 and half of what she says in ME2 isn't consistent with the comic.

Plus it's been two years, Feron is totally dead.

Really, all her actions feel like they were driven by the designers keeping her on Illium than by the actual character and that's very unfortunate.

Im sure she has some friendly, guilt feelings.  Who knows, maybe she did start to fall for him while looking for two years.  Like I said, she had CLOSURE about Shepard's fate thanks to Miranda's words (which were probably intentional to throw her off).  That is what will make for an interesting conversation in ME 3...

You're absoltely right. Their motivation was keeping her on Illium.  Why they couldn't come up with something better than this is beyond me.

Bioware isn't this bad.  They just aren't.  WTF happened?

I have a personal theory that when they switched the writers from Drew to Mac, there was a lot that was lost in translation when the projects were moved. I see this happen all the time at the hospital I work at. Someone starts a project, it gets moved to someone else and somewhere along the lines, communication breaks down and the project starts to fall apart.

I just remembered a song from Eva Cassidy. I had intended to use it in a story but might as well post it here first. I just realized Ms. Cassidy died many years ago too..

I found a picture of your smiling face

Bringing old memories that I had locked away

The burden of anger from a heart filled with pain

Was finally lifted and I smile at you again

Chorus:- If time is a healer

Then all hearts that break

Are put back together again

‘Cause love heals the wound it makes

I spoke such harsh words before goodbye

Well I wanted to hurt you for the tears you made

You made me cry

All my hopes and dreams, well they started vanishing

Those tender hurt feelings became a dangerous thing

Chorus:-

All of those years we spent together

Well they're part of my life forever

I hold the joy with the pain

And the truth is I miss you my friend

Chorus:- Well time is a healer…

Driven, what's confusing alot of people in regards to her motivation for hunting the Shadow Broker is that she doesn't state all of them at the end of Redemption, like she does during ME2. It's why so many people are getting the wrong end of the stick, and assuming the worst in regards to a Feron romance. If they'd analyse Liara in ME2 though, they'd see that it isn't the case, and that alot of her motivation is based on her love for Shepard, her guilt surrounding what she's had to with Shepard's corpse, and her fear that Shepard hates her. All very powerful emotions based around the person she loves.
