I admit I do this too.  I like to think of the ME2 Shepard/Liara confrontation as a lover's quarrel.  Also, I make believe they got into a fight and are now not talking to each other so the fact that Shepard and Liara can't talk to each other after the hacking missions makes sense from a story perspective.

Plus, arguing with Liara in those scenes is the only way Shepard can display some emotion during the entire encounter (even if it's anger and frustration).  Otherwise Shepard is :mellow: :mellow: :mellow:
