Well lets just hope, they write a good scenario/mission for recruiting her in the 3rd installment. I do still think there will be a greater presence of Liara vs The Shadow Broker in ME3. Heck that could end up being the loyalty mission.  If it was said before and I'm repeating, I'm sorry -_-

Really, let's be realistic. The reason the relationship doesn't come up is because the design mandated that the ME1 relationships be rocky and that the characters don't join the crew. If you could ask Liara about it, it would be even MORE unbelievable for her to say she's moved on. So they just sidestep the whole thing and ignore it. It's just very sloppy writing.

It's handled very poorly in ME2 for all 3 characters. It feels like they weren't sure how to handled it, so we ended up with what we got. Maybe they ran out of time. Maybe they really didn't know how to handle it.

It disappoints me greatly because BioWare often talks about how awesome their writing is, and they had a great opportunity to do something very interesting here and did absolutely nothing with it.

They actually talk about it?  Weird, I never thought they did.  I assumed that they presumed everyone knew.  Which was completely true until ME2, and only sporadically true in it.

I'm starting -- only starting -- to feel for Mac and Drew all of a sudden, though... unless one of them came up with the suicide mission concept.  But one or both of them got handed a line (essentially, i.e. "I get it.  They're not available"), and had to make it work for two people that most people wouldn't buy excuses for.  If Casey Hudson forced it?  Then HE gets the rant I was planning.  (Which, again, paraphrases the Nostalgia Critic here towards the end, and includes the immortal line "YOU A** of S***!" in it.)  Because it utterly Borked the story for two, and by extension three, of the characters everyone likes the most.

I guess it's a good thing she kills Nyxeris or we'd have people wringing their hands over how Liara must be having constant hot sex with her on the desk while Shepard is away.

I'm surprised these people didn't get nervous playing ME1 when they had to leave Liara alone in the med bay with Dr Chakwas.

I was nervous, Chakwas drinks too much.

My sister is very sweet. On my way home from work, we were going to stop by Newbury Comics on the way home, but she bought it for me earlier in the day and surprised me with it when she came to pick me up. Sorry, I know this is not quite Liara-related, but it's a bit of happiness, which we all seem to need.

The real reason why Chakwas doesn't talk about Liara now comes out.

We're grasping at straws here, because what we got today was total crap. We've all been reaching at anything that could somehow explain what's going on. You can't fairly assess a situation without looking at the whole picture and spectrum of possibilities. This includes both the hyper negative and positive.

... okay, this is true.  ISH.  I stand by what I said, it still plays into a genuinely realistic interpretation of things.  (Especially if one is a recovering Catholic like myself.)

But the problem with the hyper-negative and the hyper-positive is that some people can't fit both of them in their perspective.  Les, you can't see the worst, and sc, you don't seem to be able to see the best, at least today.  (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

And I think I've found myself chastising the Paul McCartney and John Lennon of the group again.  (Can't decide who that makes me.)

On March 13, 2010 at the Emerald City Comicon, Senior Editor Scott Allie announced that Dark Horse has greenlit a second Mass Effect comic series. As yet unnamed, it will feature another original story developed by Mac Walters and John Jackson Miller, this time set after the events of Mass Effect 2. Unlike Redemption's four-issue run, the new series has no set length and will be produced on an ongoing basis.

Which I would understand, IF there was any merit or evidence for these baseless accusations. There isn't, so I refute these slanderous claims against Liara's character. You don't be hyper positive or hyper negative for the sake of it, you find justification or evidence for these views. There aren't any.

Sadly, Bioware, you have fallen; I'm rooting for Valve now. You screwed it up, as I worried that you would. No ME3 preorder from me, no DA:O2 preorder, no Kasumi purchase, no Awakening purchase. I have lost faith in this "corporation."

I'm going to go play some Modern Warfare 2 now, goodbye.

Awwwww.... that made me smile, Shavon.  Thanks.  You two seem to get along really well, except when you want to play xbox at the same time.

This probably means the Liara/SB plot will be handled in this comic series instead of DLC :crying:

They didn't have to make the romances turn dark for ME2. You can easily explain why they can't come with you in ME2 with happy reasons.

Liara could be raising a daughter now, or could have gone back to Ilos for the non-romanced. She's found something really important about the Reapers and needs to study it because it might help understand how to stop them. Putting both together, give extra reason. After ME1, romanced Liara stays with Shepard and they have a daughter, but after Shepard dies, she goes back to Ilos with her daughter to raise her and study like she wanted to.

For Ashley and Kaidan, they were made a Specter after Shepard died, and thus are under orders to do some mission dealing with finding out more about the Reapers...little more then a token from the Council, but enough for them to say they have to do this, but they could of been happy to see Shepard and wished her/him luck in fighting the Collectors.

They needed a dramatic way to do it and as I said before I could see the idea they were getting and even though I am not JRR Tolkien or Isaac Asimov over here I can honestly say they could have written it better.  The idea was good...the execution....

Same here. It will apparently run forever if people continue to buy it! What garbage!
