I don't think Liara would know if the SB was a reaper during the comics or afterwards, as far as we can tell no one knows that Collectors work for the reapers and that reapers can ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL of said Collectors. I believe from what york has said, there is no explicit statement of ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL by the SB. So it's a bit ambiguous.

Yep, exactly Baal. If Liara is your LI, then how worried is Shepard going to be that she's tackling a Reaper head-on? She wouldn't want Shepard to be worried about her like that, and distracted from a mission in which there's a high chande it'll result in death. She wants Shepard to succeed in the mission, doesn't want him/her to die again. She's doing it out of love and concern for Shepard's wellbeing.

So, like you said, it's gonna be fine!

Considering that the Shadow Broker was opposed by Saren in ME1, if the comics are really trying to imply the SB is a Reaper then they're far dumber than I thought.

Maybe Saren was unaware that the Shadow Broker is a Reaper, and was deliberately kept uninformed to maintain the SB's aura of mystique and it's true identity in the dark. No organic must know this, not even an agent of the Reapers like Saren.

It's makes some sense as to why the SB would have wanted Tali's audio file that proved Saren had gone rogue. The Reapers wanted Saren to still be in league with the Council, as it makes his job of trying to find the Conduit alot easier without him being hunted for having gone rogue.

Aww, Eddie that was beautiful, and I think a brilliant insight as to just what was going through Liara's mind when her and Shepard first reunited again. Beautifully sad, emotional and poignant.

Thanks for sharing, Eddie!

Thanks!

I got a little annoyed yesterday at people bailing on Liara. It was my way of confirming that the love is still very much there

You and me both!

I was getting thoroughly annoyed yesterday too at people accusing Liara of this and that, when all they had to do was look at ME2, listen to what Liara says, analyse her actions and just plain stop being so paranoid then they'd see that these slanderous accusations about her character have no basis in fact at all whatsoever.

Even if Saren was unaware of this Sovereign must have known, unless there is some sort of rivalery among the reapers it doesnt make sense, also what would it matter if Saren knew the thruth he was just a puppet in the end too far gone to do anything with it.

On a sidenote Kasumis line was nice,at least something, also seems to imply Liara employs more then just thugs, seems she is quite busy building her own criminal empire or something,if this is any indication for further developements I guess thats wait and see.
As for Feron that guy is pretty much dead,I doubt the SB has any use for him to keep him alive for two years

What makes you think Liara is building a "criminal empire"?

Hi Marcin, good to see you! Here, have an adorable Liara pic:

Image IPB

Noxis, Kasumi saying that Liara has quite a reputation can just mean that she's renowned and respected as an information broker, something which the concierge says when you first land on Illium. When she says that she's dealt with Liara's people before, that could just as easily have meant she was acquiring information herself and was utilising some of Liara's sources. Remember, Kasumi can't really show her face anywhere. She's not going to be able to just waltz into Liara's office, she needs to be discreet. So, she'll probably acquire information through Liara's sources, people themselves who also need to keep a low profile. It works in that respect, as Kasumi doesn't have to show her face and it's kept quiet and secret.

Well first Liara in ME2 is a criminal, she employs her own thugs I guess for "convincing" people to pay up among other things, she employs her own hitsquad or something, you get to know this if you pick the wrong target in the observer quest,Kasumis line can imply she a lot of things whether it means she went through Liaras sources or worked with agents in Liaras employ is up to interpretation I guess.
Bottom line sounds like a criminal organisation to me,whether Walters kicks her further down that road or they actually hire a monkey to do a better job remains to be seen.

Of course thats what Kasumi is refering to with the reputation part of her line, but overall it changes not really much, sure its a bit vague what Liaras people could mean, but in the end it comes down to the fact that she seems to run her own criminal organisation.
As for the lines of the greeter on Illium I dont give to much about that, the planet is so corrupt you can be a respectable and renowned slave trader if you wanted to I guess.

Noxis, that doesn't mean it's a criminal empire. What that means is that she has hired muscle, probably for strongarming the less savoury people that make up her clients who refuse to pay. That doesn't mean she likes it, has them killed, or even necessarily harms them in any way. It's an awful and unfortunate element to the business that she sees as a necessity in order to accomplish her goals. Like I said before, the fact that she seems to resist violence and bloodshed as much as possible is admirable, particularly working in the seedy and dangerous world of intrigue. Regarding the hit squad, like I said it's likely that she may have only needed to use that for whenever she had to actually kill a Shadow Broker agent for her safety, and the only occasion we know of in which that is certain is with the Observer. That doesn't mean she employs a hit squad and has people killed on a regular basis.

Like J said before, I think it's highly likely that Liara earns virually all of her income from the criminals, thieves and pirates that make up alot of her clients. If a mother who had lost her child came to Liara looking for information, then it's almost a certainity that Liara would provide that information for absolutely free, given her compassionate nature. Look at how she provides Shepard with information about Thane and Samara for absolutely nothing, and doesn't expect anything in return either.

Morning Justin! Yeah, I think everyone has calmed down somewhat now, and thinking a little more rationally. Everyone's love for Liara is still very much present, and Liara certainly loves us all back. People seemed to forget that last night.
