Liara will most definitely be the protagonist of the next comic series. Who else could it be?

Shepard: Possibly dead, but they don't want to establish a canon either.

Any ME2 Squad mate: Possibly dead

Ashley Williams: Possibly dead

Kaidan Alenko: Possibly dead

Wrex: Possibly dead

I have a strange feeling they're going to skimp the Liara/SB DLC and resolve that plot in the next comic series.

You heard it here first!!

I wouldn't be surprised at all. They look at sales more than these boards. The comics sold like hotcakes. Always selling out before they hit the shelf. That's all they need to know.

While that is one of my fears too,I might add they of course could make comics about I dont know maybe Thane dealing with the murderers of his wife or his earlier mission or something like that,or at best stop trying to slaughter characters we like and invent completely new ones as said the ME universe is big enough for this

You heard correctly!   They will occur after ME2.   I was hoping they'd make prequel comics and focus on some of the backstories of the more interesting ME2 party members (Jack, Thane, Samara).  This won't be the case, though.

They will probably do one about Legion's search for Shepard Commander, won't that be exciting?

Yeah, Id quite like that.

Since the ME2 squad should be cameod in ME3, hopefully the comics will retroactively butcher the ME2 squad to make up for it. Why not feature a load of comics about Talis missions for the quarians, Garrus gathering his squad and attacking mercs, Thanes contracts, Samaras justicar travels etc.etc.

Or the protagonist could be a character completely unrelated to Shepard, but involves an important storyline?

The ME universe is pretty big. I'm sure they've got hundreds of ideas, stories and characters they could use for an ongoing comic series.

Plus, the resolution of the Liara/SB arc will be in the form of DLC or ME3. Shepard's presence is paramount to the conclusion of the story, as so much of it is based on Liara's love for Shepard, and the guilt she's felt for what's happened to Shepard that she blames herself for. You can't have Liara's storyline, with her love and devotion to Shepard centre to it, resolve itself without Shepard present. It'd be poor storytelling.

Let's see we have the 4 redemption comics, that sold well, so really no wonder that there will probably more. Then there is the Dragon Age Comic.
Not to mention the Dragon Age & ME books.
Can't say they don't use the franchise....

Personally i have no problems with those comics and books. I just feart that at some point you need them to understand the whole story of ME. :? (kinda like the architect and that dwarf in Awakening).
I don't want to be forced to read a comic/book to understand a character in a game. Especially Liara (ok, with a bit analysis you can easily understand her feelings in ME but ...)

Poor story telling!  That's all it's been, why should we expect better.

Yesterday was wild and I am sure a few people at Bioware saw the nuclear explosion that hit the thread early in PST when I saw, LIVE, the disappointment of fans, lol.

With that said, I think ME 3 will be a new opportunity to re-romance Liara and, if you were loyal, have more profound scenes than some (idiot) who just buys ME 3 and tries to start from scratch.

I do feel us Liara fans have "endured" the most when it comes to their favorite character! The Tali people were ecstatic, Garrus fans rejoiced, even Ashley and Kaiden folks got nice little emails letting them know there is "still a chance".

As soon as we hit Illium and that door opened, bad vibes started and things went downhill from there. The comic didn't help and even Kasumi rubbed salt into wounds. I'd like to think the Shadow Broker DLC, while not "Fixing" the relationship (thats for ME 3), will at least give us a glimmer of hope. maybe a singular moment where we can say "ahhh, ok thats better".

Bioware wouldn't be so cruel as to make Liara fans wait over a year and a half for ME 3 just to get a small sliver of something to look forward to, right? Right? RIGHT?

The thing is though, there were no shocking revelations in Redemption, no insight into Liara's motives, if anything it simplified them and contradicts them based on what we've been shown in ME2. There's no depiction of the start of Liara's guilt and fear that Shepard will hate her, no showing that handing over Shepard's body was deeply traumatic for her, all of which are clearly shown to have happened in the game. It's just plain pants writing, and poor presentation. What have we learned from this comic series? Absolutely nothing, aside from perhaps the SB is a Reaper when he ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL to the Collector in issue 4.

Bah. What an incredible disappointment.

I hope you're right. The Liara DLC should really have a gem for us who romanced Liara. We've waited long enough and as you said, salt in the wounds wasn't fun at all. If the DLC turns out to be only about the shadow broker, well ME3's the only shot we have left. I still haven't heard substantial proof that they're making an ME2 expac so I'm not expecting one. Anyone have any more concrete evidence about an ME2 xpac or is it all just word of mouth right now?
