Yesterday was wild and I am sure a few people at Bioware saw the nuclear explosion that hit the thread early in PST when I saw, LIVE, the disappointment of fans, lol.

With that said, I think ME 3 will be a new opportunity to re-romance Liara and, if you were loyal, have more profound scenes than some (idiot) who just buys ME 3 and tries to start from scratch.

I do feel us Liara fans have "endured" the most when it comes to their favorite character! The Tali people were ecstatic, Garrus fans rejoiced, even Ashley and Kaiden folks got nice little emails letting them know there is "still a chance".

As soon as we hit Illium and that door opened, bad vibes started and things went downhill from there. The comic didn't help and even Kasumi rubbed salt into wounds. I'd like to think the Shadow Broker DLC, while not "Fixing" the relationship (thats for ME 3), will at least give us a glimmer of hope. maybe a singular moment where we can say "ahhh, ok thats better".

Bioware wouldn't be so cruel as to make Liara fans wait over a year and a half for ME 3 just to get a small sliver of something to look forward to, right? Right? RIGHT?

Hey, sounds good to me Image IPB

Hey, c'mon Bioware.  All I am asking for is ONE scene.  A wink, a nod, a smile, something here.  My Shepard spent all night alone before the Omega Relay on the Extranet streaming videos of Pandas sneezing...

Hell, even if Liara were to go to your room for two seconds and say "you remembered" when she is aboard ship to get the SB and sees her photo and then you can do a Titanic-like line "I could never let go" and then that's it!  That'll be good enough for me..

I hope you're right. The Liara DLC should really have a gem for us who romanced Liara. We've waited long enough and as you said, salt in the wounds wasn't fun at all. If the DLC turns out to be only about the shadow broker, well ME3's the only shot we have left. I still haven't heard substantial proof that they're making an ME2 expac so I'm not expecting one. Anyone have any more concrete evidence about an ME2 xpac or is it all just word of mouth right now?

EA spilled the beans by saying there would be a far reaching Mass Effect release in early 2011, right around when the DA new release is (so probably Jan-March of next year).  It didn't say it was a FULL release, so its NOT the third game but rather likely a substantial DLC or, more than that, an expansion.

Oh, please don't go or feel I was being confrontational and rude to you, as I assure you that wsn't my intention at all. I'm sorry.

I was just making the point that the whole Liara cheating or having feelings for another angle was one that had no basis in fact, and was an opinion that could have only been formulated if you ignore aspects of Liara's character presented in ME1 and ME2, make a pretty much false assumption regarding her motive for attempting to learn of Feron's fate, ignore alot of what Liara says in ME2 or make false interpretations when reasons for her actions and motives are presented in game, and take the comic, with it's contradictory nature and extremely bad mis-scripting as gospel. The Liara cheating and have feelings for another opinion goes completely against her character, has no basis in fact and is just a wild assertion from frustrated and/or pessimistic people looking for an easy and lazy way to interpret her without looking at the facts and what is presented about Liara across both games. So yes, I viewed it as slanderous to her character.

But please, I wasn't trying to be confrontational or insulting to you on a personal level, just trying to deconstruct what you posted as I believed it was false. If I did hurt your feelings or came across as a bit of a ******, the I genuinely am truly sorry, and apologise wholeheartedly.

Thats fair enough. I suppose I just don't know what Bioware want us to make of it, do we ignore all the contradictions in the comic book and accept what we know in-game as canon? Seems the most plausable at this point, though this was not my mind set after initially reading the comic summary...I tried to piece together an interpretation based on what I knew of  the comic AND the game. Anyhoo, nothing left to do but speculate now until we get our much needed DLC.
Apology accepted, I offer one of my own should it have come across that I was slandering Liara as a character

Ahh gotchya. It's coming from EA too, which means they'll want money. Makes sense. ;)

E3 should be good for Bioware this year.  If Dragon Age 2 is coming in Feb 2011, then we might hear about that (or it could just be a large expansion, but its certainly something important).  Also, I'd like to think we'd hear about an ME expansion or DLC as well as its still probably too early for ME 3 news.  Probably some other stuff about the MMORPG, but honestly that doesn't interest me (never played one, never will).

Me too...that's all I want.  ONE BLEEPIN' LINE!!!!  A look maybe....something!!

However, if they're going to ultimately 'reset' the Liara relationship in ME3 I doubt there will be much romantic content in ME2 DLC.

I think the relationship is pretty well reset in ME 2 as is.  The only thing that remains is a single trigger deep in the data file that says probably LiaraRomanceActive or checks if you cheated to decide if the photo is up or down.  Based on that they could at least give us some reward for being loyal.  Hell, send me an email Liara! Stop hating!!!!

Does anyone know for sure if that Kasumi line about Liara comes up only if you romanced her in ME1?:?

Like I said, reading Fornax and wondering how Hanar "even do that" while everyone else aboard the Normandy was probably making out makes my Shepard glad with anything she can get...

Hey, don't worry about it, it's fine now.

Through means that I won't disclose, I have actually seen the scenes in question that everyone was wringing their hands over, where Liara says "Words aren't the only things that speak the truth" etc. Believe me, it's an absolute storm in a teacup, there is 100% nothing to worry about. You have to read the line in it's context, and basically Liara is telling Feon that his actions speak louder than words, when he's trying to tell Liara that he genuinely wanted to help Shepard. From the artwork, there is no hint of intimacy at all, whatsoever. Liara is just being reassuring placing her hand on his shoulder, as Feron is quite angry and frustrated with himself at this point. It's just another sign of Liara's compassionate nature. Believe me, there is absolutely nothing to worry about, you'll laugh at yourself when you actually read the comic. You just have to read it in it's context.

Bottom line is: STOP PANICKING OVER A BADLY WRITTEN, BADLY SCRIPTED AND CONTRADICTARY COMIC BOOK!!! :P

Yeah, I thought that was odd she didn't email us.  Even Ashley said she was praying for me...

I don't think the Shadow Broker, in the scheme of things, really cares about a single unencrypted message:

Liara:  Be safe, Shepard.  Come home.

Shadow Broker: NOW I have her!  Ha ha! I found out something the entire GALAXY knows about!

I'd draw the line at anything resembling Titanic lines. XD

An email from Liara would be nice though, I agree with that.

That is my nature, though.

I don't know, a little freakining out and panicking is a good thing...it shows people care about Liara.   No one was threatening to dump Liara for Miranda or Tali or the new hawtness Kasumi.  That woul've been too much, IMO.

Is the Tali vs. Kasumi drama still going on in the Tali thread, by chance?

lol, nice one!
But would the SB do? Kill Shepard? We already had that. ^^

But yes, just a small mail, just a few lines, just...... *dreams away*

The ultimate lack of any real kind of romantic content with Liara in ME2 in such an egregious way leads me to believe that it will be tackled and featured prominently in Liara's DLC. Like I said, I believe they want to keep the status quo of Liara's emotional pain, torment and guilt over what happened to Shepard, and the pair of them being unsure over their relationship active as it's going to be handled in Liara's DLC mission. It's an incredibly contrived way to do so, though, but really they couldn't do it any other way. If they need Liara to still be emotionally in pain and unsure whether Shepard truly hates and distrusts her for the DLC, they'll find a way to do that no matter what. We'll then finally be able to ease Liara's pain and guilt, she will open her heart to us about all of her suffering, and we'll finally get the proper romance reconciliation and rekindling.

Why would there even be fighting?  Kasumi is in love with Jacob and is unlikely to be anything but a cameo in ME 3, like Zaeed.

Since Bioware supposedly develops their games based on user feedback, I'd like to think they will insert a little something in the next big DLC for us.

That, or they'll be evil and throw in one more curveball to rile us up just so they can test the REAL Liara fans...that would suck thoughImage IPB

I find myself wondering how Kasumi heard of this 'item' that was Shepard and Liara?  Was Liara bragging about it? Doubt that.  Shepard?  Nah.  Did a tabloid sneak a pic of them kissing in public back before Shepard died?

Well of course XD

The ONLY seen I would allow from the Titanic would be to have Liara stark naked on a couch saying "Draw me like one of your french girls."

Because it would be kind of hilarious in a weird way.
