Shadow Broker: NOW I have her! Ha ha! I found out something the entire GALAXY knows about!
I find myself wondering how Kasumi heard of this 'item' that was Shepard and Liara? Was Liara bragging about it? Doubt that. Shepard? Nah. Did a tabloid sneak a pic of them kissing in public back before Shepard died?
It was blatantly Joker, he can't keep his mouth shut.

That's a good point. Kasum is good at finding out rumors and it couldn't have been that secretive to guess Liara and Shepard "were" an item. I doubt Liara would just go around announcing it. Though the way Kasumi says it is kind of like if one of your buds were to say:
"Man its rough you saw your ex. Must be sad to see her after the breakup? "Duh."

Joker released the footage of shep and Liara's lovemaking, making it an extranet hit, THATS why everyone knows Shep and want her to endorse their products, not because she saved the galaxy NOOO!...Sex sells!
I think it's more a case of that you have Commander Shepard, hero of the Battle of the Citadel and saviour of the galaxy. What's going to happen? The tabloids and gutter media are going to want to dig up as much dirt as possible about Shepard. Shepard's past, Shepard's personality, where he/she lives. At the very top of those is going to be Shepard's love life, as that's the sort of information the gutter media love.
GALACTIC EXCLUSIVE!
IS COMMANDER SHEPARD DATING ASARI DR. LIARA T'SONI, DAUGHTER OF RENOWNED MATRIARCH BENEZIA? INFORMATION INSIDE!
Why didn't the Westerlund News girl ask, that would've been another chance to rub Shepard's face in crap though.
"So, Commander Shepard, tell us what it was like to be broken up with by an asari who you saved off the volcano world of Therum? How does that make yo..."
Thats fair enough. I suppose I just don't know what Bioware want us to make of it, do we ignore all the contradictions in the comic book and accept what we know in-game as canon? Seems the most plausable at this point, though this was not my mind set after initially reading the comic summary...I tried to piece together an interpretation based on what I knew of the comic AND the game. Anyhoo, nothing left to do but speculate now until we get our much needed DLC. Apology accepted, I offer one of my own should it have come across that I was slandering Liara as a character
Hey, don't worry about it, it's fine now.
Through means that I won't disclose, I have actually seen the scenes in question that everyone was wringing their hands over, where Liara says "Words aren't the only things that speak the truth" etc. Believe me, it's an absolute storm in a teacup, there is 100% nothing to worry about. You have to read the line in it's context, and basically Liara is telling Feon that his actions speak louder than words, when he's trying to tell Liara that he genuinely wanted to help Shepard. From the artwork, there is no hint of intimacy at all, whatsoever. Liara is just being reassuring placing her hand on his shoulder, as Feron is quite angry and frustrated with himself at this point. It's just another sign of Liara's compassionate nature. Believe me, there is absolutely nothing to worry about, you'll laugh at yourself when you actually read the comic. You just have to read it in it's context.
Bottom line is: STOP PANICKING OVER A BADLY WRITTEN, BADLY SCRIPTED AND CONTRADICTARY COMIC BOOK!!!
While I agree w/ you 100%, please don't let that spoil you or anyone else for Comics. There are some good ones out there. Sandman, Love and Rockets, Starstruck, Bone, Watchmen ,,, just to name a few.
A year ago the main writer said they want to integrate the comic with a DLC that deals just with the issues brought up by the story there.
That could be good or bad though, considering how well we ALL received the comic. I think we'll see DLC within the next few months for Liara, I just hope they don't take the obviously tempting chance to slap us around again.

THANKS BIOWARE WRITERS!!!!!!!
We would bring the heavens down on BioWare's HQ if they did that. XD
If there is DLC (and I certainly want to believe there will be), we'll probably hear about it in the coming months. I was hoping we'd get some info immediately after the comic but I knew in the back of my mind that wouldn't happen.
I realized that both Liara and Aria occupy similar roles in ME2 and have some things in common. Both are your information source for a major 'hub' area. Both inform you were you can find two squad mates for your mission. They also both have 'people' and send one to greet you when you first arrive. Some these people are also untrustworthy and are involved in other dealings behind Liara's/Aria's back. They also give you a quest you have to complete in order to gain their trust enough to open up a bit more dialog.
They are also both extremely powerful and gained that power through sheer will of personality. Liara with her intelligence and determination, Aria with her charisma and 'charms'. Everyone around them respects/fears them and they're not afraid to show they're not a woman to be messed with ('Don't f**k with Aria', 'I'll flay you alive ,with my mind!').
Oh, and they're BOTH ASARI! What does this all mean? Probably nothing.

That would've made my Paragon punch her and she's so far never punched her.

Someone posted the quote from Redemption's writer earlier in the thread. During an interview in July 09, he said that DLC would likely come out later next year (which is THIS year). I am hoping in a few months then as Bioware needs something to keep us chugging through the summer months...
I WOULD laugh if Liara announced she had met a very lovely gentleman...named Conrad Verner on Illium. I wouldn't even be mad, I'd just laugh and laugh.

Oh no, not at all Jamie! Watchmen is a bloody amazing piece of literature, and I won't let Redemption colour my opinion of comic books one iota. Don't worry. ;-)
Anyway, I'm still fully expecting Liara DLC, and that it will be alot more satisfying and substantial for us Liara lovers. We'll at last see Liara open her heart over handing Shepard over to Cerberus, her guilt and suffering based around her love for Shep, and she'll admit how she feels guilty for everything she's done and how she's been terrified Shepard will hate her. We'll at last get a proper romance reconciliation and rekindling.

Oh no. It's... MASS EFFECT TAKES PLACE IN SHEPARD'S MIND! Everything is a LIE! Aria and Liara are the same person! All you need to do is rearrange Aria's name and add an L, and it's LIARA!
NOOOOOOOOOO.
Nah, I'm kidding. If they did pull something like that, I'd cry and lose all faith in storytelling.

Are you subtly hinting that Aria may be Liara's "father"?

No...when is this last chapter coming?
I know, J.... just messing with you. It'll be done as soon as I feel good about the Shep/Liara romance again..... so probably not for awhile.
Honestly I'm not worried if she's a squadie so much, just so long as at the end of ME3, she's by my side. That works out well. I have no idea what they have planned for ME3 squadmates, and I'm not getting my hopes up on all my favorites. I really hope they don't introduce new people though. There's enough already.
