Alright so I just got and read redemption 4...I read all the angry posts yesterday, but wanted to see for myself. I'm just as disappointed as most of you. The only reason I followed the series was to find out something I didn't already know from the game. Feron is about it. They just gave a name to Liara's "friend". Other than that, any big revelations? NO. Anything that shed some reasonable light on why Liara is after the SB? Nothing we didn't already know. I'm pissed to say the least. I really just hate people behind this ****ty excuse for story-telling more and more as time goes on. <_<

Send a email to Biowaste and tell em.

Haha, you'd think raging all over just about every online medium available for them to see would be enough? Facebook fan page, forums, ign articles relating to it, but I guess not, maybe I'll e-mail tech support and complain about a problem with my copy of the game, you know, that one where I GOT AN UNFINISHED VERSION OF IT!!!!!
...oh wait :? lol

Yeah, post the entire page Detrius.

By the way, is Liara in that ship that's flying away from that space station?

Ummm, they did continue it, Shepard meets Liara, Liara is scared to say much and voila! to be continued in ME3

nothing was really "continued" in me2. jack ****e happened

Oh I agree, but all the LI's from me1 got cameos in me2, just Liara's sucked big time, least the others got a glimmer of hope IE: Email

i suppose liara had it best since we got a chance to help her out (terminal hack mission). i just don't understand why bw would downplay the ME1 LI characters for ME2.

I'm looking at the last page now. I don't think it indicates any Liara DLC. I think it's just indicating to people who have bought the comics, but who haven't played ME2, that the story is continued in the game.

They are trying to reel in the kiddies that read comics.....more money for them, so we get more guns and less romance

i'm not sure if the cameo we got in ME2 warrants a "to be continued in ME2" ending... either we will get a liara dlc or the writer likes to p h u c k  with the fans' minds

Well, the story continues because of Liara.  It's indicating that the story does, indeed, continue, but that Liara has a bit part now.

Its just an advertisement for ME2 basically, in the vain hope that perhaps someone whose never played ME1 or 2 would actually think to buy the comic, and then see that and say "why not buy the game".

Personally I dont know why they bothered. I have a hard time believing if someone hasnt played the game before reading why they would bother afterwards.

I wonder if I'd get banned for posting images of, or links to, scanned pages out of the comic here.

Looks up for any signs of the Hand of God coming to smash him with the Banhammer.

You should take them down now. At the very least if they catch wind of it theyll ask you to remove them.

Oooh, speaking of commissioned pics...

I commissioned this picture, in collaboration with ratzerman, featuring his Shepard Annika and Liara. It's a touching moment, obviously set some time after ME3, of Liara pregnant with Annika's child, and Annika decides to get down on one near, and listen to their child's heartbeat. Both myself and ratz love it.

Check out The Couple by cluedog:

That's amazing. Would be great to see in color, but a great picture nevertheless.

You have to say that looking at those end panels, people really did overreact. She says "I've made a new enemy - I'm afraid we all have" ie, referring to what's happened to Shepard, and showing that a significant part of her motives is still what the SB did to Shepard, the person she loves. Shepard is still very much at the forefront of her mind, and shows how much she cares and loves him/her when she sees a vested interested in Shepard in taking out the SB.

I'm definitely leaning toward "Not a confirmation."

It's just them saying Go buy Mass Effect 2. If it had actually said something about Downloadable Content, it would be confirmation.

No its written from a neutral standpoint LET. Thats why Shepard is simply her "friend" in the comic. Its no use trying to suggest thats what they are saying, because they arent, as it would violate the cannon for some peoples Shepards.

All the comic says is that they were "close friends" etc.

Personally I think she was referring to the Collectors, and its yet another pointless and obvious "play ME2" point that supposedly ties in.

Ultimately though, we need to stop looking at Liaras character as if everything she does is tailored to the benefit of those who romanced her.

Unlike the ME2 squad, Liara still has a character if you refuse to romance her, and Bioware want to uphold that character as much as the romanced one.

I know Dink, it's still romance neutral, but I'm just saying that, like the rest of the comic, it's left ambiguous so as it's easy to interpret the Liara romance into it.

Regardless of romancing Liara though, because of what the SB did to Shepard is still a big reason as to why she's hunting the SB, she says as much in ME2. It's just that it's whats being said at the end there, when people thought otherwise. Liara saying "We all have" indicates that she sees Shepard as a significant part of trying to take down the Shadow Broker, that the SB is Shepard's enemy too, and it's her duty to do it for Shepard, because of what the SB has done to Shepard. That's the point I'm making.

I liked how they handled the player-specific situation in the comics, honestly. They never give away Shepard's gender, they only refer to Shepard as friend or, well, Shepard. Liara obviously is interested enough in Shepard to some degree or she wouldn't be trying to rescue the body. But she isn't fawning all over Shepard to make people who hadn't romanced her uncomfortable.

Honestly, I think they chose Liara specifically because she's... well, accessible to both male and female players int he first game. It can be read as a romantic situation, like we choose to believe, and I'm sure they took that into consideration. But above all that, I think they used Liara in the comics because she was the most convenient.

Too bad they kinda screwed everything up. :P

I dont know, I think if they actually wanted to factor Shepard more into it, they should have stuck to that "I gave you to cerberus because they said they could rebuild you".

Not "Meh, whats your big deal with resurrection, maybe its better to let the dead rest. Excuse me while I most likely contradict myself and start a two year quest to track down a potentially dead ally".
