What look i reeeally liked is that one what she gives you after Shepard jokes on her during their second conversation in ME 1.

Well, okay, I'll take a little time on my magic explanation.  Except to say that one or two people criticizing the comics earlier seemed to be quoting yorkj86's summary verbatim, when -- so sorry to say this, for someone doing us all a favor -- I think york muffed the description of a key scene, judging from the quote.

York said: "Liara says how she doesn't understand the human obsession with resurrection..."

York later direct-quoted the following line:

Liara: "Then I don't see the point, Miranda. Maybe I don't know what
human traditions are -- But I really think you should let the dead rest.
This isn't what I brought Shepard back for. This is almost like --
Like --"


I think this is a very key difference.  Dink quoted the former in rage, les has gone on about how this has to be a lie, and how there isn't any sign of guilt at all in the comic... I disagree.  If someone had sacrificed themself to save someone who -- sorry, I can't remember the direct Miranda quote except that it's about 50 pages back -- apparently might not be able to be saved anyway, and Liara didn't go back to save that person just because of the chance to save Shepard?  That's your guilt, people.

I'm envisioning writing a mini-fic to expound on this, despite the fact that I've never posted a single fic on my ff.net account ... ever.  Then I'm envisioning posting the link, yanking out the USB connector on my keyboard like a guitarist finishing a solo, and strutting off stage... so to speak :P.  But that may be my capacious ego talking.

@ Justin, hey, it's a start!



Seriously, though, I have more than one Shepard, more than one romance, and like with Thane, another fave, once I start playing with Liara it's hard not to romance her. She's so adorable! In some of my Kaidan romance runs, I had to rescue Liara last, because I hate the confrontation scene (even though it can be fun, sometimes!)

That's all very good Jayla, but I'm talking about Liara's guilt for handing Shepard's body over to Cerberus in the first place, the fact that Liara beats herself up over viewing herself as doing it for selfish reasons, because she "couldn't let you go." That's the guilt I'm talking about, and the reason why Liara is afraid Shepard will hate her, because she handed the body over to the enemy.

She's the father obviously, and since the kid would be Asari it's not strange in any way really, "When an asari and a father love eachother very much they embrace eternity and that's how you were made"

Yep, I'm a FemShep convert now. I still like my original DudeShep, and will definitely import him into ME3, but from now on it's FemShep all the way!

And Liara agrees and approves. ^_^
