I posted this lastnight, but it needs to be posted again. I say we march on BioWare if they don't fix Liara/Shepard in a DLC sometime soon.
They really need some smileys with guns!

Oh, that's just what we need, a Panzerkampfwagen Mk. IV Ausf. H with spikes tacked on... :PB)
Oh, and Liara is fine. I've got my torch and pitchfork (actually, a lightsaber and Airsoft Thompson) ready.

What is saddening me is that because of the comic's ending, and how it does contradict Liara's displayed motives, emotions and love for Shepard and how much she's hunting the Shadow Broker based on said emotions that people are completely misconstruing the ending, and coming up with all of these worst case scenarios and theories that completely go against Liara's character, her love and emotions for Shep displayed in-game, and disregards her displayed motives in ME2. That's what's upsetting me, that people are taking a comic with extremely poor presentation as gospel, and seemingly ignoring what is displayed in ME2.
To be honest with you, I don't see how anything has changed or that has or hasn't become apparent from before Redemption's release and completion. The status quo has remained exactly the same, but because of how Liara ends in Redemption, which doesn't explore her emotions, guilt, suffering and fear surround her love for Shep and what he/she thinks for her, people are assuming otherwise or flat out disregarding what is presented in ME2. That hurts, and it hurts me quite deeply to see people think this of Liara, all because of poor mis-scripting and poor presentation in the comic book.
I know I probably shouldn't allow myself to get this upset over it, but I just do. I can't help it. Liara is without a doubt my favourite character by far, and I hate to see people make accusations against her or smear her with assertions that I feel are false, and go against everything that's presented about her in both games.

I mean imagine being in her shoes(as LI)...the person you love above all else died and now someone tells you, maybe we can bring him/her back to life. It has such a small chance of success, but you, well at least I, would get my hopes up, but if it doesn't succeed it'd probably destroy me (if I'd recover from the death itself). So I think I'd try to focus on something else...
What do you think, does this make sense? Also would this make sense if she's "merely" your friend and not your LI?

It's just an incredibly contrived way in which they've gone about it, and feels completely artificial and unnatural. That Liara beats herself up over handing Shep's corpse to Cerberus, and worries that Shep will hate her is completely believeable and natural. That Shepard, especially if Liara is your LI, doesn't then try to comfort her and ease Liara's pain and tell her she's loved is not. Which I believe is what will be contained in Liara's DLC.

If she IS your LI however, there could be a long scene after the mission. There are so many that need to be said and this would be the opportunity - and an, imo, easy way to differentiate between LI and non-LI. And then it's just like the whole game and the differences between the genders. I think it could work.

I don't know if someone mentioned this before, but I think it's also possible that Liara went after Feron/the SB to focus on something. She may appreciate the sacrafice, but other than that, she may also want to focus on something so she doesn't get her hopes up.
Yes, this.
Once she gives the body to Cerberus, she can't do anything else to help. In part distraction; but I also believe she feels like she owes Feron for allowing him to essentially sacrifice himself.

Yeah, that's true, that she appreciates Feron's sacrifice for her and Shep. But, like Liara says in ME2, the hunt is also for what the SB did to Shepard, and for whatever he's doing with the Collectors. There's more to her motives than that, and chief amongst them is her love for Shep and what she had to do with Shepard's corpse, and the guilt and self-hating that entails, due to the SB's actions.
Baal, yeah I do think that during Liara's DLC we'll get dialogue alterations if she's your LI to better illustrate that fact. Then, at the end of Liara's DLC mission and on the way back in the Normandy, we'll have a scene exclusive for those who romanced Liara in Shep's cabin. Liara will enter, talk to Shep, open her heart about her suffering, about how guilty she's been for everything that's happened to Shepard, because she couldn't let go, and she's done all of this for her love for Shep. We can then apologise for not being there for her, and tell her she's not hated at all. We've then got a deep, moving and emotional romance reconciliation and rekindling scene. Exactly what I think will happen.
