Been thinking about what I would want to get out of the Liara expansion and what format it should be in.  Originally I thought it should all be post Suicide Mission and allow Liara to join the crew and have a big "take down the SB" plot.

Lately though I've been thinking differently.  I've tried really hard to like ME2, I keep making characters then deleting them trying to find some magic combination that is going to let me enjoy the game.  I finally realized it just isn't going to happen, without Liara in it I just have no compelling reason to play the game.

So I was thinking, the expansion should have a mixture of elements in it that include both adding more content to the main story section of the game as well as post suicide mission content.

My thought is to add 3 to 4 new scenes to the main game.  Short encounters where we get to see Liara on Illium.  The first one should replace the existing "reunion".  This should be a fairly intense reunion starting off much the same way as the current one but quickly escalating into a "fight" between them.  Harsh words are spoken by each side with Shep eventually storming out of the office.  No missions or anything are given at this time.

Shortly after you get an email from Liara asking you to return, apologizing for the fight (not her actions).  You go back and see her and she is a little less volatile, Shep should have dialogue that is softer as well and here you get the hacking missions and take out the observer.  Afterwards there is still some tension but a more "accepting" feeling between both of them of the current situation, with Liara basically leaving you with the impression the relationship is over as she has more important matters now.

A third encounter later in the game Liara has used the information you gained to learn something about the SB and asks for your help.  You come back, do a medium length mission to go retrieve some data, etc. that will help her track the SB's location.  After completing this one is where you can finally break through and get the currently hard to find missing dialogue, only extended with appropriate dialogue from both Shep and Liara.  Liara would at least tell you how she really feels and if you are LI's a chance for both of you to express that.

Then off you go to the suicide mission.

Once you come back from that you get another invitation from Liara to come back and now you get into the meat of the expansion and a long story arc covering taking down the SB, "freeing" Liara from her current emotional troubles, and finally getting some appropriate romance related content and dialogue throughout.

The first three encounters wouldn't need to be long, but enough to work that "troubled second act of the romance" into the game and actually give me a reason to play through the whole game. ;)

Not to be sour, but i see the words Hell and Freezing here.

Yeah I know, grasping at straws.  Just looking for any possible way for BW to salvage this. :(

I see your in the same situation as me, can't find the will and motivation to play ME2 as it is now.
You have some interesting ideas there and I would not mind if they did something like that, that would be the "troubled relationship" they claim is in the game. Well time will tell if the ME2 team have any sense and writing skill to surprise us with.

Thing is BW isn't a bunch of scrubs, this isn't their first time doing this. They have to know that what is currently in the game is just not satisfactory. I find to hard to believe that they are actually happy with the way the "reunion" turned out in game or think that they did a good job with it. An expansion would be the perfect chance for them to fix these glaring type of mistakes and deliver something more along the lines of what I would like to think they intended.

I think it would be pretty cool to see the apartment Shepard won from Ahern in the Pinnacle Station DLC from ME1 make a return in ME3 as some sort of romantic setting for them to catch up and talk about the last 2 years. That would be nice...however unlikely it is haha.

I gave "vital" information about cerberus to the SB in the first game, i wonder when i will get the reward he/she/it/they were talking about back then, hope it destroys Cerberus, while i can destroy SB, and then the rachni i saved can take care of the reapers, happy ending !

They probably know what they did and what some people think of it. I agree a expansion is a great opportunity but the question is if they are willing to spend time and resources to make one? Sure they may lose some fans if they don't, but I think we are kind of expendable. They have a horde with people that will buy anything they make no matter the quality. But I'll keep my fingers crossed, I would love to see something good done so I can say "good work BW"

The one I copied and pasted from the post had the image named liarasigx2.th.jpg. It's supposed to be liarasigx2.jpg.

I'm going to reserve judgement until we see the DLC what's in store for ME3. There's still plenty of time to fix all that's broken.

It was working a minute ago, but it broke again.

Maybe it's just my browser, I'm using google chrome instead of IE or firefox.

How ever it turns out, I don't think we get any info until the comic is done, last issue is released 7th of April if my memory serves me right.

Once again Nozy (and I am a Liara fan)...there is NOTHING to salvage, she was written this way for a very good reason, and there are lots of clues....just because a few people dont like it, does not make it wrong or say it needs salvaging.

This is awesome. It would be perfect to have a scene like the last one you wrote as the reunion in ME3.

I too am really disappointed about how BioWare handled Liara in ME2. You can't come with me to save hundreds of thousands of humans because.....you are tracking down the Shadow Broker? Even though we had a deep and intimate relationship, you are blowing me off now?

I really miss Liara, and I find that Jack and Samara cannot replace her as my biotic babe. Plus, Liara is my favorite romance option out of either game. Sure, I like Tali and Ashley as well, but they don't come close to Liara for me.

I doubt we will get any DLC for Liara, but I really hope that she is back with full force in ME3, as a complete ally and love interest. And for those of us who stayed loyal to her in ME2, there should be some serious rewards like convos, scenes, etc.

Liara is by far the best (a commonly held opinion in this thread haha). But yeah, I can't imagine her being too happy with Shepard in ME3 if he was disloyal in ME2.
