"I gave you to them, Shepard. Because they said they could rebuild you."
Now, that says to me, especially the bolded part, that the sole reason Liara terfed the corpse over to Cerberus really was to get Shepard back, bring him/her back to life. That's the only reason she's given the body up to Cerberus, to get Shepard back to life again and rebuilt.
"When I gave you to Cerberus, I told myself I was doing it for you, for a chance to bring you back."
Here we have Liara lying to herself, telling herself that she's doing it in Shepard's interests, and not her own selfish desire to see Shepard rebuilt and revived, and brought back to her. She's trying to soothe her own guilty conscience, by pretending that she's only doing it for Shepard alone, and not for herself.
"But I knew Cerberus would use you for their own interests, and I let that happen, because I couldn't let you go. I'm sorry."
Here we see Liara admitting to herself that it was her own selfish desire to see Shepard rebuilt, and revealing her guilt for what she's done. She says "I couldn't let you go" because she really did want Shepard back and rebuilt, and didn't move on from Shepard at all. She wasn't looking for closure, but she wanted Shepard restored back to life, because she couldn't bare to face Shep's death. She hasn't moved on from Shepard as scmadsen feared yesterday, far from it. She's been hating herself for two years over handing her lover's body over to th enemy for her own selfish desire to see him/her rebuilt, and because she couldn't let Shep go. She's been haunted by her guilt, and living in fear that when Shep does come back he/she will hate her. She's had all of these emotions eating away at her, due to her love for Shep.
What's incredibly frustrating is due to the phrasing and scripting in the comic, it's so easy to misconstrue if you ignore what is said in-game, which I've just broken down here. So many people are going to misread Liara, make assumptions about her, smear her with baseless accusations because of a colossal fcuk up with the scripting in the comic. I hate it, and can only hope that the DLC or something rectifys this.
