That's why my shep got toasted.

Wouldn't an option to go talk with Samara about Liara have been really cool? It would've been nice to have Shepard ask for advice about these young asari maidens, and for perhaps Samara to give us some insight into just what Liara is going through.

This is a pretty good story, dunno if you've read it or not, sort of along those lines. Samara and Liara are both very accurately characterized. Kinda short, but still good nonetheless

I dont think you have to worry too much about 360 fail anymore, if u buy the elite model. I replaced my bricked xbox with the elite, but i havent really played it much yet, planning on getting ff13 when ME2 stops being fun to play.
In terms of graphics i think its more about what kind of TV you have, but the elite is supposed to be able to support HD better. One thing that pissed me off was that it didnt come with HD av cables so when i went to hook it up to my good TV for guitar hero i found it lacking them just in time to disappoint at a party

Ahh yes good point. You need the 360 elite for all the good video support. That's what I bought, and HDMI cables make games look awesome.

Is their much of a difference for video quality from the elite and regular 360's?

I have a regular 360 with an HDMI port and use it.

That would have been an awesome thing. Samara would have lots of info if she really remembered her maiden days. She wasn't always a justicar. Having an Asari insider opinion would have really given Shepard an edge in rekindling the romance!

Hmm, well I'm just tired of PC games lately, most them suck these days, and I wanted a change. I kicked the habbit of MMORPGs, they all suck too anyway...I'm waiting for SWTOR now. Been kind of bored without much to do gaming wise.

I've no idea. I've only had my elite and I can vouche that it's actually comparable to the PC graphics. Not sure what it is in comparison to the regular 360. If you've got HDMI I guess it would make no difference, and I was wrong.

My personal taste in consoles comes from the fact that I love sitting on the couch with my bigscreen just relaxing. Sitting at a desk isn't as comfortable. I don't mind using a controller for console gaming. That, and you don't spend a ton of money constantly upgrading a PC. Consoles are just less cost overall. I think of it this way, I can buy a console for $400, or spend that on a new graphics card or processor alone.

I'm running on an Arcade model with HDMI and ME2 looks great, even on a 1080p TV. Wish I had a gaming computer; although I honestly prefer the 360 controls to the PC controls, which was my main reason for not upgrading my computer.

Oooh, MDK writes fanfics about Liara too? The guy never ceases to amaze!

I'll check this out tomorrow morning, when I'm not quite so tired and will be able to read it properly. Liara deserves my full attention.

Thanks for providing me with the link!!

I take back the elite thing, for some reason I thought the other models didn't come with HDMI.

The older models didn't (I think) but mines about 1 and a half years old, so it's the newer version.

Older models didnt. The original core  and early premium 360's did not have an HDMI port.

Yeah, the 360 version looks nearly as good as the PC version (you lose the AA and super high def, though); I'm sure that ME1 runs better on the PC though as the 360 version has terrible framerate issues.

That was terrible. There was only one spot that happened in ME2: Joker during the suicide mission beginning. They finally optimized their engine (pretty well.)

That's true. ME 2 looks better and runs much smoother than ME 1. The technical aspects in my opinion are the only real improvement over ME 1. I think any hardware that runs ME 1 should be able to play ME 2 too, now that the single core bug has been fixed. And given that ME 3 will be made for the same console again, there's actually no reason at all why the game should not still run on the same hardware, if they don't go and create artificial problems again like the mentioned single core bug.

I don't play very many games.  Usually I have a select few games and just play them to death.  Im on pause with ME 2, but I still love the whole "universe" which is why I post here.  Ill probably start up BG 2 again soon.

I've been having problems with ME1 crashing on my PC lately. I think it's Windows 7, since I didn't have this problem before I installed it. Other then ME1 though, Windows 7 is much better for gaming.

I built this PC back when I raiding end game in WoW, used to run everything max settings and have 75fps or so in full raids and pvp. I left WoW for Aion and ran that at like 120fps at max settings in some crazy world pvp. Have been upgrading it once in awhile for the last couple years.

ME2 runs great and it has never crashed on me yet, but ME1 does from time to time. It gets stuck when you're talking to people, the wheel will just freeze up and you have to tab out and close it down.

I don't have a console but I've been thinking about getting one, I'm not sure if I want to now. Does the 360 fail that often? Are the graphics not better or atleast the same?

Almost caught up, but so far the 360 has never failed for me -- then again, for various reasons I've had three 360's.  The first got stolen a bit more than a year ago, the second was a loaner, I discount the one we got next because it was specifically bought with a RROD from someone who'd lost hope in the warranty system just a little too soon -- they extended the warranty on E74's AND some other faults to three years shortly after that -- and the one we got from Microsoft because of that one, has worked pretty well.  So the longest I can attest to it lasting is a year, but if it lasts less than three they'll send you a new one, almost-no-questions-asked and totally-worth-the-phone-wait-times.  (Almost.  Took us eight total hours on hold to get through when they sent us one that didn't work with the power brick we had -- they changed those midway through the production line.  Oh, and it wasn't eight consecutive hours, but two three hour stints and an hour.)

And as for graphics ... goddess-damned Saints Row 2 plays ten times better on the 360 than the PC.  Then again, it's a legitimate Porting Disaster according to PCGamer and Game Informer.  Still, the graphics are often so good that you need to get HD or the VGA cable to fully appreciate them.  (I think they're about 720p usually, good frame rate -- but there are a few five-second pauses in the dialogue.  Not nearly as bad as Bloodlines's intro, and it seems to be in line with quality-of-disc nowadays.  (Not a single lag with my ME2 game, but a couple of them with my ME1 game, and apparently GTA4 was running a few by the end, before it got stolen.  And I'm almost insulted that that got stolen and ME and my Matrix box set didn't. <_<  Do thieves have any taste?  Seriously.)

EDIT -- and no pics still?  Someone post the Happy Liara is Happy pic, before we go pic-less :P)

Ahh... great game still. Those were the days, BioWare were independent and quality came first. My favourite romance in any video game is still the one with Jaheira.
