Oh, he was disloyal to Liara on one of his playthroughs of Mass Effect 2, so I make sure to smax him down with the Disloyalty Banhammer every so often.

A bit hard on Kaidan, I think. Obviously I don't pursue his romance, and unfortunately he always has to stay on Virmire, but he was a level-headed guy, and a hero. I think he was a good romance option for female Shepards who aren't interested in Liara. The romances in ME 2 all suffer from the same problems: Not enough dialogue, little depth, mostly superficial and shallow writing. Plus some LIs are too exotic for their own good. Either because they were fan service, while in fact the characters just aren't cut out as romances for human counterparts. Or because the writers thought exotic equals interesting, equals a good romance. Which is not true, especially when the writing just isn't up to it.
