And yes cartims, i cant get that song on youtube with all of jacob's romance dialogue out of my head and uve got the thing in ur sig...im getting very tempted to let jacob take a trip through the vents next time i do the suicide mission

Okay, plenty of positive energy in the thread tonight.  I think.

I was going to mention something about ... IndigoWolfe said something about 'we won't get anything that disturbs the status quo' and 'we'll get nothing that steps on the reward for staying faithful in ME3' earlier on, and I think I'll just say what the problem is with that quickly:

a)  Well, what is the so-called status quo?  Kai and Ash ripped Anya and Alyna as badly as if they were romance partners, and that shouldn't even be possible with Ash.  The difference between a Liaramancing Shepard and one that didn't, you need a microscope to find ... and what I constantly point to as our 'letter', the 'couldn't let you go' line, is available to everyone, and too quickly.  Beyond that ... what is it?  Liara's had a bad two years, and Shep's had a bad two weeks, and what's keeping them from keeping in touch and touching bases?

  I think that what we're really expecting, and deserve to expect, is what I've just said we lack -- acknowledgement that the relationship existed -- and wasn't consciously ended.  I think we should have the Liara/SB DLC look not only for the flag that triggers the picture in the cabin, but also the flag that has it facing down for some, and have some interactions based on each.  I know we won't get Liara on board until ME3, so much so that I'll figure out what 'plotzing' is and plotz if les is right and we get her after DLC or the expansion.  But ... just a hug and 'go do what you have to do', like wingedmoggy did in her pic, and I'll believe it.  (Which, if I could only tweak the scene, not change it, is exactly what I'd do.)  We're still a bit shy of that at present.

c)  Oh, and I personally don't want it to be a typical Liara tells us to do stuff thing, or a simple rescue-Liara situation.  Maybe one where we go and find out not only she doesn't need rescuing but she rescues Shepard instead?  Or... something with some substance, LiLi deserves it!

I agree with you entirely about hoping that the DLC isn't just about rescuing Liara. We've already done that once, when we first met in ME1. What I like about Liara is that although she's socially awkward and shy around others, she's very competant and headstrong, and not some weak, submissive little flower like some paint her as. She's a very capable woman. A "Rescue Liara" DLC wouldn't sit right with me for that very reason. We've done it already before, and that's how we met and the love sparked off. I'd much prefer to see Liara next to Shepard's side, devoted, compassionate, loving, competant and headstrong as ever. Plus, the obligatory romance rekindling and Liara opening her heart to Shepard, of course!

Well, we can't have 'rekindling' if we never 'put out the fire', right?  Though for some reason I keep seeing my Shep singing "I'll Be There For You" by Bon Jovi at the karaoke machine in the Citadel... and Liara giggling at how bad it is.  (Though apparently Jennifer Hale is a pretty good singer, if her example track on her website is any indication... she'd have to work at it, I'm sure.)  Still... I'm not too hard to please, I'd like three different 'go on your way' scenes, depending on if her picture doesn't exist, is down, or is still up and our Shep is still staring at it too much more than is healthy.  That'd tide me over, at least until the expansion pack.

I also think that any sort of romance pack for the ME1 LIs ... wouldn't be a standard romance pack.  It'd have to have, some sort of shenanigans happening in all three.  Plus, I think we'd have to have a modified scene available for Liara for non Liarasexuals and for Ash/Kaidan for ... well, us, just because things are icy for both of them between them and Shep regardless.

Well i think what they might do is have some info you might get from the shadow broker be what drives the plot to its next point, whether it be something to convince hte council if shepard forgot to take pictures at teh collector base or something to tell them what they can do to combat the reapers. From what we know right now, the shadow broker's connection to the collectors seems to be the only other lead we can follow to anything tied to the reapers
That would be the tie in to introcuding liara back onto the team, as she is the only person who can help shepard find the sb

Doesn't matter to me. Every story has been told before, it's the "how" that matters. What ME 3 needs above anything else is to reintroduce proper writing. In that scene and everywhere else.

I can picture liara and shep fighting mercs together with liara biotically punching people in the throat..say what you want about redemption's sub-par writing but liara had some pretty badass moves in it

Whoops! Poor choice of words there! Hmm, how about reaffirmation instead? Let Liara know that her love will always be returned, and we'll always be at her side. Plus, I love your idea of Shep singing karaoke to Liara, and Liara giggling and finding it hilarious! I can just picture that!

I just realized, by the way, yet another difference I'd have put into the game if I was anywhere near able to influence such a thing.  (Considering applying to a different division of EA to be a playtester is about six orders of magnitude away from that, right?  But allegedly it pays well.  If you can stop complaining about how badly balanced your favorite team is.  But I digress.)

What they really needed, what would've made the game totally teh awesome, was ... a hidden stat for dancing!  The more times you dance, the better you get!  And make it carry over from the first game to the second, even!  Am I right?

I agree. And of all the squad members (ME1 and 2) who was the best biotic? I think she was. Not only did she have the most amount of powers, but she was the only one who had singularity.
