Well, we have to trust them to keep their promise...should we...no not really...but what can you do. So we wait and hope. Logic would say they would save them for something big in ME3, but we've seen logic ignored before.

Was that the reason given? Or is that what people assumed when ME1 characters were cameo'd in 2?

Casey said something like they wanted to save Ash/Kai/Liara for ME3 to conclude their story and they are too important to possibly have die in ME2.  This could be a bunch of B.S., but I hope it isn't.

Liara is without a doubt going to play a bigger role in ME3, I think the whole Shadow Broker deal is going to be sorted out in that game, instead of a DLC.
The Virmire Survivor is harder to say, many different circumstances could pop up with them.

They've already stated that there will be some DLC after the comics. If the whole situation is resolved in said DLC, we won't see any real issues with that in ME3.

Ahh good to know. I had heard about it before, but nobody gave a name as to who said it. This gives me more hope that some of this ME2 fiasco can be cleaned up.

It's really funny how Ash's Bday is way more celebrated than Commander Shepards.

Shep has two Bdays now.

I agree there but I also think ash will if you think about her religious beliefs and her reaction to you being back form the dead if bioware play on that I think she could play a big role in the next game kadian I am not sure on as his reaction on horizon was a bit out of character

Casey Hudson has said on multiple occasions that he wanted to make sure the ME1 love interests survived ME2, and the only way to do that was to have them not be recruitable.  Apparently, there are "important" things that these characters have to do in ME3.  But "important" could mean "30 second cameo."  Casey Hudson loves to exaggerate at the expense of our hearts.

Yeah I hear you on the exaggerated part. Lots of developers these days do that. The one that stands out in my mind that's the worst about it is that Fable developer. Always claiming "this is revolutionary stuff". I enjoyed Fable, but it was hardly revolutionary. I hope Casey can live up to his words.

Blah. Sorry, I haven't seen that yet. I'm not really sure how DLC will have an effect in the next game, like Kasumi and that "devstating to the alliance information" her lover had, since everybody isn't going to get it.

Yeah, that discovery was definitely interesting, but then you nailed it. It's not something everyone will download so how big of an impact can it really have? DLC is a double edged sword and the gaming industry is headed that way.

The pessimist in me says that Kasumi was the DLC "after" the comic, since technically is did come slightly after...and the DLC for Dragon Age with Leliana in April was the "April Fools" one, with the gifts and pranks, which had a couple new lines in them.

The reuinion with both of them, whether you romanced them or not was awkward. Shepard had some pretty lame responses to them too, but I understand why it was written that way for the story.

I don't think you need the DLC to be privy to the information in ME3, if it's that important they will work it in, or maybe it's just a red herring.

That's likely, but didn't they say the DLC was supposed to be on the Liara/SB story arc? If they were vague about that, you may be right.

dont get me wrong all 3 reunion were like that but I just feel the one that is more understandable and real is the ash one because of her beliefs

It seems noteworthy that he phrases it; "the potential love interests, the most popular characters"

I guess you could consider Liara  a popular character, they did make a whole comic series about her.

That's almost the same as my emotions during the reunion. Just the beginning is different which was like
Look there's my Liara *party-time* - a kiss *love* - *life is good* - and then the WTF moments as our conversions progressed - you know the rest :-)

Back on the old forums, Liara was the most popular character in a lot of polls that I saw. A lot of people love her, even if they don't say publicly. And on non-BioWare forums, Liara is popular. There is also a ton more Liara/Asari fanart out there, then for the other characters, if you know where to look. The more shady and underground parts of the internet...

When I got on Illium and was greeted by the Asari that told me Liara was looking forward to meeting me, and she paid my docking fee, I was like...Awww.

So I skipped along happy as can be, singing to myself, omg, I get to see Liara! ^_^

Another chat with her aid about Liara, and I'm still happy...so I go into her office. =]
