I hope Bioware has no sympathy for those who lost crew members and forces them to just have a smaller pool of people to choose from. C'mon folks, its soooo easy to not lose anyone. I laugh when I see the threads about "I chose Legion as my biotic, why did everyone die" lol!

Some of my favorites:

Choose Samara as fire team lead - Let's see, she's worked alone for 400 years before joining your team. /ponder

Choose Zaeed as fire team lead - Let's see, he's a gun for hire that doesn't care about his crew.

Choose Jacob for the vents - He volunteers but isn't even a tech.

I remember that I worried right before the mission if I'd be able to keep them all alive.

After the mission I though almost exactly this: "WTF? That was it...how can anyone call this a suicide mission? Or am I just that good...hehe"

I got the achievement on my first try, no internet research on what to do or who to use, just went in blind, and everyone lived. Then I see people posting having like six people dead and asking what they did wrong...It is in fact harder to figure out how to kill off people you want to die, leaving those you want you alive left. That seems backwards when they made a big deal out of the last mission.

The only thing I can think of is you rush the game and do the Reaper IFF too early, triggering the end game.  I had a sense, based on previous games and ME 1, there would be a certain "point of no return".  I chose to build my team and then saved and look online.  I was right, the Reaper IFF turned out to be a big "lol uh oh game is ending".  If you didn't do everyones loyalty quest first, you probably could get screwed in the last mission.  Even so, as I said earlier, the game hammers it into your head that building your team is the MOST important thing you can do.

I laugh at the Zaeed one most.  Dude tells you a story about how he killed a whole bunch of people on a solo vendetta without regard for anyone else.  Sounds look a great leader!

Also Tali in any leadership role is a joke as well.  She gets two of her squads murdered.

ME2 and the suicide mission: It's almost like BW was saying, 'Here's a new squad! Oh, if you don't like any of them just kill them!'

The game virtually takes your hand and tells you who to choose. On the selection screen, the best character has the longest description. It doesn't get more obvious. That's another reason why the concept of the suicide mission was wrong: Game developers and especially publishers like EA want happy customers, they don't dare to challenge the players, and they don't trust them to think much (often with reason it seems). So it was always clear that the mission would have to be created in a way that makes it hard to fail, rendering the concept useless from the beginning.

There's many ways to just kill one person.  Missing one ship upgrade is the easiest.

Yeah that would work.  The person in the shaft always dies if the first fireteam leader is no good too.

My only complaint with the suicide mission is that Mordin dies way too easily.  Not having a working tech lab in the post game pretty much ensures you're going to go read a walkthrough so you don't have to replay an hour long mission over and over.

@sc- before you go, about your pessimism that Kasumi is the DLC that happens after the comic?

Kasumi's release date was Tuesday. Redemption #4's was Wednesday. Your pessimism is now warping space-time ;P.

Just don't upgrade the Normandy's armor.  This is Jacob's upgrade he offers, btw.  She will definitely die right when you enter the Omega 4 relay.    Play the remainder of the mission as you normally would.

But it shipped to be in stores by Tuesday to be on sale for Wednesday, thus it was released before Kasumi. Yea...I know...but that's just how my mind works. I love to warp space-time! It's fun, and explains my headaches.=]

If mysterious holes in time and space erupt in my office and sprinkle twinkie wrappers everywhere, then I'll agree to your time-warp pessimism. :)

I don't like twinkies though, so why would I do that?

if casey did say that about the me1 people not being recruitable so they can believe for the 3rd game what does that say about the 2nd game people that they don't count as they can all die at one point in the game does that mean they are not coming back because they don't know who lived and who did not

him saying that does not make sense

Many of us are waiting for the slightest hint of any ME2 crew member returning in ME3 so we can scream "Hyprocrite" at Hudson and BioWare.
