Might BioWare be setting her up to become a villain?

She is the only sure survivor out of all characters you recruit in both games, she is the only person whose personality really changed and there is a certain irony in Shepard rescuing the innocent daughter of his nemesis' advisor, only to (incidently) lead her down the path of darkness.

That would just solidify my opinion on the writing team being the bigest bunch of boneheads on the planet.

The only way I would support Liara coming back is if I knew for sure she didn't cheat on Shepard with the Drell guy in the comic books (Havn't read them)... Please tell me if she did or not!

If she didn't, then hell yeah bring her back. Favorite character in ME1.

I just realized why I couldn't import my femshep from ME1. I wasn't playing it on Xbox live with my OG screen name so I can't import it..waaahhhh. Oh well, I get to play ME1 all over again. Maybe this time I'll give my Shep a better hair-do. Now I have to play all the way through Me 1 to the end of ME2....Fun fun fun. As soon as I pick up Liara I generally use Liara and Tali so I have a Biotic and a Tech as I'm always a soldier. I think it's a perfect team.

Anyway, does anyone have any links to good Liara sig size pics? Thanks if you do....

The Liara/Tali combo is a killer when you play soldier, I use it every time. There is no situation you can't handle with those two with you :)

I definitely think she is being set up, maybe not as a full on villain, but certainly for something most Liara fans are not going to appreciate.  I think there is a pretty slim chance she will be back as a squad mate and a very good chance the "conclusion" of the "three part" love story is not going to be what people are expecting/wanting it to be.

I remained faithful to her in my ME2 game and if she did I'm gonna dump that b*tch (Out the air-lock too, maybe). She knew Shepard was alive because she was the one who gave his body to Cerberus!

That being said... I would honestly love to see the ending of ME3 be decided by the romances. If you were faithful throughout the entire series to Liara/Ashley then you should get a happy ending, but BioWare doesn't know how to write romances. They're horrible thus far. The only good and in-depth romances were in BG2... The DAO Romances were short, the ME2 romances were decent (Tali's was the best, on par with a BG2 Romance IMO). I really hope BioWare gives us at least a chance of having a happy ending. I'm tired of BioWare thinking that a dark, mature storyline means killing everyone. It does not, at all. ./end-rant

P.S. I love Liara Posted Image Wish she was real, my GF pales in comparison to her!

Sure. We truly don't know yet, but looking at the pace and direction of the story, I don't think we have anything to worry about with Feron, yet any story can take a wild turn, so take what I say with a grain of salt. One thing is for sure, just about everyone she comes across tends to fall for her in some way or another in the comic. Much to their own demise, but Feron does joke about her sitting on his lap...of course she didn't--probably the only time I cringed while reading the comic.

I really hope she didn't, that would ruin the entire romance... Considering from the previews that I've read of the comics it seems that Feron is a snivelling coward.

I do not see a happy ending for Liara lovers.  That is probably being reserved for Talimancers.

Quality > Quantity. People claim the ME 2 romances are longer, but I'd debate even that. Yet even if the ME 1 romances were shorter, they were done and integrated much better. I think that's much more important than counting the amount of sentences spoken by the characters.

PS: My female Shepard can't even talk with Jacob, as the developers saw fit to force that flirting voice and stance upon her even if she has NO interest in him. Another typical example of a lack of oversight, or simply bad story telling and breaking immersion with forced and unrealistic behaviour, just like the inability for Shepard to talk to Liara about the relationship. So she'll never get to know Jacob's story. Good thing the companions always trust you enough to let you do their dirty work anyway.  <_<

ME2 romance don't work nearly as well as those in ME1, they seem less well intergrated in to the story (i.e. no equivalent of the 'lockdown' moment from ME1) and because for most of the potential LIs, once you turn them down they stop talking to you! Ash still talked to me even though I went with Liara in the first game, just because I don't want to jump in the sack with Tali doesn't mean I don't want to have a nice chat.

And Noz, I sincerely hope you're wrong about BW turning Liara into some sort of villain, but I wouldn't put it past them. I just want her back on the Normandy and in my squad, is that too much to expect in ME3?

You are completely wrong man, that is pessimism 101.

With any rational thinking, we Liara fans will get at the very least the same type of closure as any other LI. As far as optimism goes, we might get a step above is history serves us right, cause Liara is the most canonical of all of the characters, meaning BioWare can spend a ton of time developing her character as she will be in everybody's playthrough. If anything we Liara fans have more going for us than just about any other LI out there.

Maybe, maybe not.  If we want to assume that BW aren't complete screw ups (I'm on the fence with that atm) then they obviously pushed her so far down this dark path and so far into this shadowy underworld for a purpose.  I don' t think they are just going to have you rescue her from the SB and have it all be over.  I think that is only going to push her further into it, having her take some "position" in that vacumn that would be created by his absence.

I think that is the "important" role they have planned for her.  Not all the LI's are going to have super happy endings and I think Liara is the one targetted for that.  I fully expect that the "conclusion" to this romance will have them, at best, parting ways.  At worst turning into enemies and possibly having one kill the other.

They originally planned for Liara to a least come into possession of the SB data and have his remaining agents report to her, I guess it wouldn't take much for her to the 'become' the new SB. Luckily it seems BW got rid of this storyline during development of ME2 (still possible, though unlikely, they might reinstate it in DLC I guess). Honestly, the way Liara is presented in the comic and even in ME2, its clear she deeply cares for/loves Shep. I can't imagine them becoming all out enemies. No way of knowing though.

If the Liara Romance doesn't get a happy ending I will no longer be a fan of BioWare and will no longer purchase any of their games. It's as simple as that. I'm tired of BioWare's sh*tty romance endings, they're lazy. Instead of taking time and writing a believable and happy ending... They either kill the character or make up some bogus reason as to why they have to leave us. They did it in Dragon Age with Morrigan and they're doing it Awakeing (No Romances from the Original carry over and no new Romances... All because this new threat is apparently too important... Like the entire horde of Darkspawn wasn't important? Honestly, that's the epitome of laziness.)

That said... Please BioWare, give us a happy ending... Just for once? Pleaaase! I really like Liara! xD /end-nerd...

I'm gonna go work out and screw two girls at once and drive my Chevy Nova! /end-machocism

P.S. Liara is, without a doubt, they most sexy character BioWare has ever created... Her only challenger is Viconia.

Nozy, mate, I love and share your passion for Liara, but I think you're getting waaaay too paranoid and irrational. Take a deep breath, lie down and try to cheer up. BioWare won't make Liara a villain or discard her. Relax! ;-)

really the only game that comes to mind that has you character square off against your LI is Kotor but even that had a way to redeem the LI. given Bioware's past history I can't really see them doing it to Liara

and i think the  romance plot in ME3 ending will have a frame like this:
depending on your choices:
-betrayed in ME2
a) things go bad, Liara gets evil and killed [renegade]
B) rescued from turning completely villain but her ways with Shepard cross out and completely separate [paragon]
OR
-stayed loyal
a)she turns evil , but shepard comforts her and helps her get bak on 'bright side', but they separate[semi-renegade]
b)she starts to turn evil, but Shepard sees it at very beggining and stops the process [in some drastic way], but Liara is being scared by change that was starting to rise in her and some time later [AFTER REAPERS DEFEATED] she gives Shepard shepard dramatic choice:
-stay in N7 /SPECTRE/stuff like that and we [Shep nad Liara] only stay friends etc.[like we go our separate ways]
--or dump N7/military career/all save galaxy stuff [retired hero as ppl will see him][something like Anderson's status maybe] BUT go into permanent relationship with Liara [marriage equal level of deep life-lasting], settle on some planet and have offspring
____
what do you think about such ending frame?

My Liara would use the SB resources for the greater good, or she would eradicate everything to do with it.
