My Shepard during the suicide mission:

Miranda: Who should we send through the vents?

Shepard: Umm... *worries about the Shadow Broker killing Liara* Garrus can do it!

Garrus: Sure thing, Shepard.

***************

Samara: We could create a biotic field to protect the party from the swarms. I could do this.

Miranda: Pffft...any biotic could do this, actually.

Shepard: *Wonders if Liara is thinking about her* Uh...OK sure. You do it, Miranda.

Miranda: OK. Now pick someone to lead the second team.

Shepard: *Fantasizes about Liara's blue booty* Zaeed! You're a good leader, aren't you?

Zaeed: G**damn right I am!

The new crew sure are "good" friends...you help them with all their problems...and not one of them cares what Shepard is dealing with...

"Hey Shepard...so what was it like being spaced and coming back as a zombie?" - Nope
"Hey Shepard...we all know Joker is why you died, want us to all pray pranks on him?" - Nope
"Hey Shepard...heard about what happened on Illium...I'm sorry, wanna talk about it?" - Nope

Yeah really. Poor Commander Shepard doesn't have a real friend in the universe. Image IPB

Yeah, that has been discussed before. Even if the writers for whatever (stupid) reason want / have to cancel the romance, then it's still simply a matter of course to discuss it in game. It would be a very disappointing and completely unnecessary step, but at least we would know what's going on. Preventing Shepard and Liara from discussing their feelings at all, is just not acceptable from any angle. Same goes for Ashley and Kaidan, you can't discuss with them either. But at least there's some sort of acknowledgement that the romance existed and possibly still exists. I can't believe that the testers never played the first game, they had to notice this oversight. Which together with the complete silence from the developers on the matter, means it's probably deliberate.

It would be nice if the reason is no talk about the romance, is because there is no danger of it being over...Liara and Shepard both still love each other...they might be having a *forced* hard time of saying it right now, but the signs are there that they do.

But then, that would just be wishful thinking, right? BioWare wouldn't do something that would make us happy...that's just crazy and we are weird for wanting that.

"Look at these silly people wanting to get back with Liara, ha!" *ignore*

Kelly really is the only one in the ME2 episode that genuinely shows concern for Shepard and really seems to care. I don't quite care for the way they sort of paint her as someone who is a bit too easy either. Kelly is a charatcer that has HUGE potential in the story, but I don't think they will give her any real credit. Hell, they didn't even list who her VA was, and she had a bigger part in the game than a LOT of the bit part charatcers that did get credited. Slight oversight maybe? /uploads_user/1070000/1069890/27986.gif

You mean "To be continued in Mass effect 2"?

Yeah...

Always thought that was just Mac Walters adding insult to injury.

That's true. Did you know that Kelly can even give Shepard a nice reassuring hug at some point? I think one can miss it by doing the quests in the wrong order. Come to think of it, the Kelly "romance" has more romantic content than all other ME 2 romances. If only we could see that dinner too (hey EA, it's a dinner, nothing more happens!). Too bad they threw it all away by reducing her role to be the priiize!!! in the end.

You have to be lucky to get the hug...you can't be a in a romance, so you have to be faithful to your ME1 LI, and you have to pick the right lines every time you can talk to Kelly, and then you have to do two missions in the right order for it to trigger. If you mess up on one of these, she will blow off the question about asking for a hug. I thought I've seen just offer a hug though...I could be wrong.

Excellent. Getting a lot done at work today, and the thread has managed to come back optimistic as of recent.

Kelly's romance was excellent until the tasteless "conclusion". You can tell a bunch of men wrote the game.

Exactly. But more importantly: With a young male casual gamer audience in mind, because someone said so. The same guys at BioWare already did much better in the past.

Glad to hear that. I had a good day myself. My project at work is going really well. When I got the project they planned the development time to be about 1 year. That was 1 month ago and I'm at about 60% *lol*.

Also - I came up with an ending for my fanfic that would (imo) exelently conclude a Liara DLC (which the fanfic is supposed to be about). It would make it really easy to continue that plot in ME3. Well at least imo :-)
Of course there are still many chapters in between - working on that now :-)
