I didn't even know they posted in those threads recently, I haven't payed attention to them, I was just thinking they have some people that browse the forums and take notes. I could be wrong, I don't really know. Some of you guys have been around here a lot longer than I have.

Stanley Woo, Jarrett Lee, and Patrick Weekes used to post in the old forum regularly.  They'd actually read the threads and commented on things.  They usually stayed out of the love threads, though.  Jarrett is in marketing, so he probably doesn't care about what we think anymore, now that the game has shipped.

It's just a damn shame that they've put us in this position.... forced to analyze every last line of dialogue, looking for meaning and motivation.  We're pulling our hair out here, trying to make sense of this mess, and nobody has heard one word from Bioware.  Somebody in Edmonton has to still give a crap about us.  Would it kill him/her to give us a hint?  The only hint Woo ever gave was "Read Redemption" and we all know how that turned out.

Sorry for venting.....

Well the whole Liara story has so much wasted potential you could build a reaper with it

As for the devs reading this I doubt it maybe a few peaks here and there at best, also we could try baseless praise that seems to lure them out from time to time:P

And enough holes to make a colander. :P

I do think that the devs do skin this thread once in a while to get a general idea. As I've said before, though, the general feeling of confusion, frustration, puzzlement, disappointment and anger at the execution of Liara's character development in ME2 and Redemption is not just confined to this thread. #4 got bad reviews, people are complaining about the execution and presentation of Liara's character all over the web. I'm sure to almost certainty that they're aware that people aren't happy, and want answers and content regarding Liara.

I don't know what it would be worth. I remember one of the developers actually trying to defend planet scanning, of all things. In another thread a customer was basically told that it's too bad he wasn't satisfied, but so what. They do see us as acceptable losses, of that I have little doubt, but to say it openly? On the other hand, it's honest at least.

No need to apologize here Ratz, this is what we're all going through, and this is the place to discuss it. After reading yours and J's posts I wonder why they stopped posting. They used to frequent the forums but now all of a sudden they go quiet? Blizz did the same thing back when WoW released. Now you hardly hear from them anymore and now they're charging $25 for a stupid in game mount. It's disturbing to say the least... I don't like it...

That's good news honestly, even though I hate to say it.

I imagine the devs will be more active when ME3 is officially announced. They have to sell us on the new product after all.

No, i doubt the devs are actually reading through these things. They may glimpse by but I doubt they actually take any time to read through a whole conversation.

In all honesty, do you know how long it would take to go through the LI threads? Each one is over 700 pages long and there's plenty of them. I don't blame them for that. I wish they'd comment in other Liara related threads though.

Yeah. I'm seeing people getting puzzled and complaining all over the place. As I said before, I don't have a problem with this direction at all. It has the potential to be very interesting, and could make the romance stronger than ever. It's just the execution is utter toilet.

I have to say guys, if there's one thing I learnt and realised whilst I was away for these 5 days, it's that I really am spending too much time thinking about and analysing what could ultimately turn out to be what it appears to be with Liara in ME2: that of an extremely poorly written throwaway cameo appearance. Whilst I was away, due to being deprived of any real Liara discussion, I was thinking about her so much. Thining about different lines, different facial expressions. Motives, thoughts, emotions, whatever. Thinking way too hard about what Liara does here could mean. It got to a point when I did realise that I really shouldn't have to dig this deep in order to understand a character, to create understandable reasons and conclusions. I was just thinking way to hard.

I really do hope my theories and analysis turns out to be true, and I really do think that it will as there's so much evidence for it, but the execution is so poor, and I've been burned so badly by the Redemption fiasco, that I'm not sure what to think anymore.

Thinking about Liara shouldn't result in me getting a headache. It should make me feel happy.

The one hope I cling to is that they have some kind of analytics program that scans the forum automatically.  We might not have the page count that the Tali and Miranda threads do, but we have to be CRUSHING them in words per page.  Maybe all of our discussions hit some kind of notification threshold, and we were flagged for a closer look.  I know that's very, very unlikely.  But it's better than assuming we're just being completely ignored.

That's exactly what it was.  Now you see where most of us pessimists are coming from, no?

Oh, absolutely.

"We have acknowledged that some players were unhappy with some of the changes in the last game. We're sorry if some expectations couldn't be met. Rest assured, we did read all your constructive posts and have improved on the things that we thought needed improvement.

Oh, and please buy the game before you read any forum posts. Trust me!"

... hey, maybe they should hire me to write that stuff for them. <_<

J I understand and always have understood where you pessimists are coming from. It's just that I disagree with it.

I still think there is something in Liara's ME2 scenes, and that there really is something big coming with Liara's DLC when we get her full ME2 role and interaction. There is something there to analyse in Liara's ME2 scenes and what she says, IMO.

I already work in marketing, so the doublespeak comes natural, haha.

If there's one thing that ME2 can never change about Liara, it's ME1. Seriously, it's awesome to go back and be with her again. My beautiful, lovely Liara.

1. Isn't that kind of off-topic?

2. Isn't that kind of redundant? I mean, appearance-wise the main difference is one's CGI and black-haired while the other is real and blond.
