I'd say, any postive commentary about Liara is awesome! What words were put in bw's mouth? They do want to do more with Liara, I mean, they can't possibly leave her like this until ME3, that would be ridiculous. They have to resolve some of this SB business.

I agree with Shavon.  Any coverage of the Liara situation is a good thing, even if it is just blind speculation.  The more people we can get talking about the crap job BW did with Liara in ME2, the better.

JP did it best, he actually created and compiled this little image. Take a look Baal:

I know, but you're the best at digging up old info in the post, and I wasn't sure if Jayla was around :)

Jayla was out and about today, and getting very crappy service on her cellphone, so Jayla gave up keeping up with the thread until she got home Image IPB.

STILL catching up in fact...

Hey guys, just droppin in real quick to tell you to go see Kick-Ass. I just saw it and it was AWESOME!!:o I thought it would just be some goofy hero movie spoof, but it's wayyyy better than I thought it would be. Oh and so none of you can say that I'm posting way off topic:P, I started playing DA:O again and realized that Liliana is Liara's Ferelden/Medieval equivalent. Needless to say, she has received every gift I've come across so far. Lol, if only it were that easy:innocent:

as much as I liked the kasumi one as it was different sort of thing for the game the sneaking about undercover stuff hope they do more of that it was way too short

That's why the 'Liara dlc' should be an expansion!

But, perhaps I am being too optimistic again . . .

It's my theory as to why that Ashley, Kaidan, and Liara were kept alive, is because we are getting that rumored expansion pack for ME2. It'll focus on Shepard getting back into the Alliance to setup for ME3, and will focus on Liara and the Shadow Broker. The reward for those that stayed loyal to their LIs will be that you can access the romance plot, and at the end of the game, you'll have them show up and live in your cabin on the Normandy till ME3 so they are ready to go with you. The old squad will still be there on the ship, but you won't be taking them on your missions, just Ash/Kai/Liara will go with, it will be two person missions...or they might add in a new Alliance person and maybe Feron.

Honestly... I think that there should be three separate expansions -- Liara/SB DLC, Ash/Kai DLC (with separate stories for each if at all possible, they're not the same person, after all), and Romance Pack for the ME2 LIs.

The reasoning is that Liara is more central to the story than the other two LIs, and as much as I like LiLi, this isn't all that right, so they should come up with something that ties the other survivor back into the story.  Still, it'll cost money, and I think that it's only fair to force people to pay for what they want.  Oh... and both of them should have different dialog trees altogether for love interests (with a line or two slightly different for unfaithful types, but overall I'd presume the status quo of 'lovers-apart' should be protected here by the bliss that is ignorance.  Even though I'd like Liara to see Kelly and look suspiciously at her then at Anya, my active-flirter save).

I really like Scmadsen's thinking, the expansion help resolve the issues leftover from ME2. But I also totally agree with Jayla: Ash and Kaidan need to have different lines and roles. It would be awesome to see Feron in game as well, so long as he isn't all over Liara. That might produce a dead drell :(

I love the expansion idea but not sure about putting shepard back in the allince I like the whole lone ranger place we are at the end of me2 if they do and expansion maybe they can do a liara ash and kaidan story get them all back on ship maybe a lead on the sb liara wants are help and joins the crew but we have to go up against the alliance that can be where ash and kaidan come in as they can be the head of the alliance on the planet

You are absoluty correct. Since liara has been forced into this shadow broker story for the comix, And the ball was dropped. I still belive it should have been Samara who saved sheps body. So that way, liara would then not be able to join because she was researching a newly discoverd prothen dig site. Other than going a 360 with her character just to create another revanue streem. Which they could of easly of obtained with DLC.

if you listen to the dlc audio files that they found non of that sounds good it seems like its just another 30 min mission and thats it that would suck more than no liara dlc

I do like the idea of why the collectors wanted you maybe they could bring that in but the rest I am not sure about

Well, they did a better job with Liara than they did with Aria. YIKES!

At least Liara occasionally resembled her in-game self.

Judging from the pictures on the last page, I find Aria looking more like her self in the game than Liara. But seriously, that is all badly drawn. But even if you ignore that, it seems the creator never ever looked at the model.

I honestly couldn't see myself paying for that stuff.

Oh, yeah, she really is. I only romance her as well.

Kinda worried about the implications of the fact that the dialog in KOTOR with Bastila is sometimes remarkably close to Liara's in some cases; that is, if you consider Bastila's part in the plot of KOTOR.

It was going to be Legion that found Shepard and gave the body to Liara...that sounded like a cool story to me. I want to know more about the Geth and why Legion is wearing that armor. It seems like a weird kind of stalker/worship thing going on. The Reapers were Gods to the Geth, and Shepard killed one...what does that make Shepard to them. A more powerful God, a Devil...who knows what they think.

Those dlc files can (should) be replaced or not used. If they make an expansion, new lines will be recorded. I don;t want Kaidan/Ash to have their own dlc. It would be better to patch up Shepard's relationship with the Alliance, at whatever capacity along with Liara's SB stuff. BW could pull it off.

Okay, I'm going to be controversial here -- I would not mind Liara eventually being with Feron if she is not with Shepard, I have no problem with her feelings being a Shrodinger's Gun.  (I have no clue if I'm spelling that right anymore.)  But I have no problem with her blowing off a jerk Shepard who cheated on her with someone who noble-sacrificed for her ... it's just that it would be about as realistically presented as Eowyn ending up with ... Faramir? ... in Return of the King if that was all there was to it.  Still, I fully understand that I'm in the minority, and I just kind of want Liara to be happy in every game, even the ones where Shepard is a jerk to her.

But yeah, ever since I saw Kaidan wielding a weapon he wasn't trained for in the first game, at Horizon, I was thinking that they need totally different situations.  Ashley is the one you can call out on how racist she sounds when the rachni queen is brought up, and Kaidan is the one who pretty much has to be standing next to Liara in order to be forced to mention 'um, there's acid tanks up there, if you wanted to -- not if you don't!  -- you could, y'know, drop them...?"  You can almost hear him going "Damnit, I don't want the Renegade dialogue, isn't it your turn Liara?"  To which LiLi probably goes, "Too bad, Carth, I called it.   Image IPB "

For my SHepard's that do not romance Liara, this would be a good thing, you know, for Liara to find love, I'm just not sure Feron is worthy of her, but he could prove himself in ME3, I guess (imo)  I was an Feron/Liara shipper until the fourth comic.  Idk, he just irritated me with his double-act.

Image IPB "

I totally agree.  Kaidan weilding an AR and wearing Ash's Phoenix armor pisses me off . . . but this could be a discussion better suited for the Kaidan Thread.  I hope they don;t mess Ash and Kaidan up again in ME.  THey need to make this up to us in an expansion, like they need to make Liara up to us.  Imo.;)

I have to agree with you Jayla...I can understand what you mean. Of course in my games, I'm always going with Liara, and I never cheat on her. So that's my story, and I don't care about others. But in a world where Shepard and Liara never fall in love...then I want Liara to find something to make her happy, even if it's Feron, who I dislike.

In a world where Shepard cheated on Liara, I want her to dump that loser and not look back. I don't want to see a Liara that's sad and can't live without Shepard, when that Shepard was a jerk to her. She deserves better then that. Shepard should not be able to Paragon/Renegade their way to being with Liara just because, after cheating on her. Shepard needs to be shown what was lost, in a way they regret it, but not be allowed to get that back. I want the cheaters to suffer, but not in the way of a catfight or Liara going mad and killing someone, Shepard or the new LI.

I do believe 100% that, The Liara audio files we find in the ME2 client dealing with the SB, were indeed what the Liara part of ME2/Illium was "originally" intended to be. As is with any writing or story development, parts or entire chapters can be changed, rewritten, or even cut completely.  I firmly believe this is the case.
Someone will undoubtedly say "But it says DLC in the file names".
Yes, it does. However, that does not mean that it was not planned as a FREE DLC like Zaeed at launch, and then cut at the last minute, like what happens with every game that is late or running over budget. Yes ME2 was late and I am 95% sure it was over budget.

I would not buy liara feron because she even says I could not let you which say very much she is in love with you if they do that I want at least one chance to shot him first

for me the sb is a reaper but what if feron is the broker now that would be a nice twist

Those files are in fact what the mission that is already in game, was going be...they didn't like it, so they cut it, and changed it, but left in some of the files for later, just in case they might ever reuse them, then they slapped on the DLC lable.

The files will have nothing to do with the story of the DLC, as what have in game already, makes them useless. I don't know why people worry about them, they just junk files now. An easter egg left for us. Perhaps to show us, they wanted to get rid of the...quick and cheap mission idea they had...maybe that shows that they wanted to do better for us.
