I have to agree with you Jayla...I can understand what you mean. Of course in my games, I'm always going with Liara, and I never cheat on her. So that's my story, and I don't care about others. But in a world where Shepard and Liara never fall in love...then I want Liara to find something to make her happy, even if it's Feron, who I dislike.
In a world where Shepard cheated on Liara, I want her to dump that loser and not look back. I don't want to see a Liara that's sad and can't live without Shepard, when that Shepard was a jerk to her. She deserves better then that. Shepard should not be able to Paragon/Renegade their way to being with Liara just because, after cheating on her. Shepard needs to be shown what was lost, in a way they regret it, but not be allowed to get that back. I want the cheaters to suffer, but not in the way of a catfight or Liara going mad and killing someone, Shepard or the new LI.
Agreed Completly Speeking as a male lover of the blue booty.

if you listen to the dlc audio files that they found non of that sounds good it seems like its just another 30 min mission and thats it that would suck more than no liara dlc
I do like the idea of why the collectors wanted you maybe they could bring that in but the rest I am not sure about
2 credits time once again kiddies!
I do believe 100% that, The Liara audio files we find in the ME2 client dealing with the SB, were indeed what the Liara part of ME2/Illium was "originally" intended to be. As is with any writing or story development, parts or entire chapters can be changed, rewritten, or even cut completely. I firmly believe this is the case.
Someone will undoubtedly say "But it says DLC in the file names".
Yes, it does. However, that does not mean that it was not planned as a FREE DLC like Zaeed at launch, and then cut at the last minute, like what happens with every game that is late or running over budget. Yes ME2 was late and I am 95% sure it was over budget.
Theres some more to think about! /uploads_user/1070000/1069890/27994.gif
Those files are in fact what the mission that is already in game, was going be...they didn't like it, so they cut it, and changed it, but left in some of the files for later, just in case they might ever reuse them, then they slapped on the DLC lable.
The files will have nothing to do with the story of the DLC, as what have in game already, makes them useless. I don't know why people worry about them, they just junk files now. An easter egg left for us. Perhaps to show us, they wanted to get rid of the...quick and cheap mission idea they had...maybe that shows that they wanted to do better for us.
I sometimes think they make placeholder stories and plan to fill them in later with good ones. Though in Liara's case her placeholder story seems to be the one we got. Still, they've set us up positively with the differences in Kasumi's story that are evident -- they're not going to do the same story that's in the audio files.
(I'm remembering on the SSR thread how someone would always go on about 'BioWare isn't stupid enough to waste disc space like that', truth be told -- odd how he was arguing against the maleShep/Kaidan, femShep/Ash, and femShep/Jack romances as being last-minute cuts most of the time... but yeah, these files seem to me to be a last-minute cut.)

It don't think ME 2 was "late" or "over budget". More like, EA set a release date, and that was that. I guess the developers had some freedom as to where to cut corners to meet that target, though I also firmly believe that they didn't have nearly the long leash that they would have needed to make a game as outstanding as ME 1.
This. I don't need to contribute anymore this person personifys what I have been thinking. As of late.

Well, I do know for fact that ME2 was late, it did not make its original intended release date. Cuts happen when the money men start putting pressure on developers to get something out the door.
Oddly, I remember someone quoting a release date of March at one point. I was too distracted by Dragon Age to notice when it changed.

so i just reached Illium on the vanguard im playing and had to relive meeting liara again. Awkward kiss, sry can't help you save the galaxy or even talk to you about anything, but you can hack some terminals, and then shepard's emotionless "I'll talk to you later, Liara"....sigh
Yea I think bioware did not understand what love meant.

I just don't know if Feron will ever be worthy of Liara's love, or if it's ever going to happen judging by what's presented in the comic. Redemption pretty much rams it down our throats that Liara doesn't like him on a personal level, and that she only appreciates his sacrifice. Hell, she even says that she wanted to kill him during the course of #4. Plus, there's the fact that in ME2 it's shown that Liara's chief motive for hunting down the SB is still because of Shepard, her guilt and pain over what's happened to Shep that's all based around Liara's love for her. When Liara is still thinking about Shepard in that way, it shows how much Feron means to her on a personal level.
Regarding Feron, he seemed way more interested in Shepard than Liara. I hated the fact that, were it not for TIM getting involved and ordering him not to, he was going to string Liara along and then abandon her, saving Shepard himself. How dare he try to stop Liara from saving the person she loves! Also, the fact that he shouts "Go! Save Shepard!" to Liara shows me just where his priorities have been all along. He didn't care one bit for Liara.
So yeah, if Liara is going to fall for someone if rejected by Shepard, then I can't ever see it being Feron, or ever want it to be him in fact. I've always said that my absolute favourite choice would be Kaidan. Liara needs someone who is kind, sensitive, considerate and empathetic, just like she is. The LT suits her perfectly.
Still no substitute for the awesomeness and beauty of Shepard/Liara, though!

They better get their PC-NPC romances right, before even thinking about any NPC-NPC romances.
That's exactly what I was thinking as I typed it.
They need to get the Shepard/Liara romance back on track first, before they focus on anything else.

But, the whole thing is still awesome to see! It's very heartening to see him drawing attention to Liara's handling in ME2. It's fantastic in fact. The fact that the writer shares alot of our concerns, states that Liara is very much in demand, and brings alot of what we speculate and hope to happen to light is brilliant. He's done Liara and her fanbase a great service here, even if he hasn't really reported anything.
Any publicity for Liara is a good thing, particularly if it seems that like this guy it's done with alot of love for Liara at heart. He seems to be quite the Liara fan to me, maybe he reads this thread?
