ME2 was a hard slap to the face for ME1 fans...they basically told us we don't matter.
I can't really agree with this. There are plenty of ME1 fans who enjoyed ME2 - myself included. Now, granted, the treatment of characters from ME1 may have left a little more to be desired, particularly in the case of Liara and her sudden personality shift, but I don't believe for a minute BioWare was intentionally antagonizing old fans.
Entire problem whit ME 1 and ME 2 is that EA/Bioware wanted to catch two birds whit one hand.
Basic idea for ME 2 was not to scared possible game newcomers what was idiotic from the very beginning and actually killed whole series.
Second thing was entire Shepard death...
I known that Bioware needed to find a way how to allow changes in face because of upgraded graphic engine... but honestly there was thousand different ways (even creating false character transfer error so player would have options to chose from the beginning some basic informations about transfered character and recustomize face).
Then absolute unlogical ascension of Cerberus from villans in ME 1 to almost single galaxy saviors in ME 2 what was really hard to accept for me who done all cerberus related ME 1 sidequests and fact that Walters did chose to throw out of the window especially paragon ME 1 end where Council CONFIRM!!! Reapers threat to justify reasons of forcing Shepard to work whit terrorist group was plainly ridiculous.
And perhaps one of the importants questions.
Why ME 2 default start is pure renegade?(aka Council dead, Udina as New Council Chariman and Citadel completely take over by humas).
Then next issue... ME 1 love interests... here Mr walters show his true face.
I am sorry but i find all attempts to explain why they were reduced to meaningless cameos as illogical bull**** especially considering fact that Shepard WAS KILLABLE during C-Base mission.
Come ON Bioware... how your explanations (to keep them alive for unexplaiable thngs in ME 3) can be logical if MAIN IMPORTED CHARACTER of the game can be killed and because of that untransferable to ME 3.
IF i was able to pull out from that base even unloyal characters then i wouldn't be able to keep Lili alive too?... give me a break.
*sigh...* Honestly i really start to have very bad fellings about ME 3 and i think this complete restet of romances idea is more real that we could even imagine and furthermore... maybe i am too dark pessymists but we should prepare ourselfs that in ME 3 we will have Zaaed/Kasumi type sqadmates.
I think EA/Bioware by turning ME 2 in wanabeRPG/Shooter tryed to lure shooter fans but they went overboard by lisstening to ONLY ONE side(shooter fans) and screwed up RPG fans and that's agani very bad sign for ME 3 UNLESS Bioware will somehow prove that my thesis are wrong...
