I can't really agree with this. There are plenty of ME1 fans who enjoyed ME2 - myself included. Now, granted, the treatment of characters from ME1 may have left a little more to be desired, particularly in the case of Liara and her sudden personality shift, but I don't believe for a minute BioWare was intentionally antagonizing old fans.
That is kind of funny because I didn't get that message and am a ME1 romance fan.
Not Biowares fault your so thick that you can't understand anything. Nor were they doing their best to antagonize people. They just obviously didn't realise there is a bunch of socially inept idiots whose first ever love was a bunch of pixels depicting a blue alien who have never experienced anything in life to realise why the characters reacted the way they did.
If there message to ME1 romances was what your dimwitted mind thinks then I am quite sure they wouldn't have bothered with the scene of Shep looking at the picture of their LI if they remained faithful. Course that would be the truest definition of "We don't care.", the fact they did include that shows that they do care and as said, those of us that do understand why they did it are happy with it and are looking forward to seeing the ME1 LIs return in ME3
While I agree with what you're saying in broad terms (hence my original post) I have to agree with the others that the personal attacks are uncalled for. My intention wasn't to antagonize anyone here but to simply state my opinion. Like you, I'm a fan of the ME1 romances (though I did end up romancing Tali in my first ME2 playthrough) and I think both Liara and Ashley were well-written characters (Kaidan too, but I never ended up romancing him, even with my heterosexual fem!Shepard - I don't think their personalities meshed well) who deserve a larger part in ME3. And, like you, I think BioWare does care and that they were trying to be fair to both newcomers and fans of the old romances. But I have to cut short of agreeing you entirely, given your choice of words.
