Im afraid that if there is a Liara DLC released, she wont be in ME3. Let me elaborate; there are many squad members in Mass Effect 2 nd a long list of possible outcomes that could have happnened on the suicide mission. For one player Jack may have died while for another maybe Legion was destroyed. Will BioWare actually give some players Jack in their squad while not giving her to another player? There would be too many possibilites if you could upload a character from Mass Effect 2 and have all those actions follow you into ME3, the gameplay would be way too different if some players got Samara while others did not. What does this mean? Most likely BioWare is going to do something crafty and give us another scenario where something happens that causes the crew to split up again. If Liara is a part of that crew then she wont be in Mass Effect 3. This is just my take on it. Im tired right now so I couldn't really explain well, but if you have questions I can answer them tomorrow.

It doesn't make any sense that they wouldn't have her in ME3. Game designers have to be practical with disk space issues and time/budget constraints so using a character that has to be alive in everyone's game is the only logical way to go. Are they more liekly to put the time/money into a character that might have to be replaced by another if they die in ME2? No.

However, I doubt we'll see her as a squadmate to prevent her from dying in the suicide mission.

Firstly, I gotta say I agree completely with Alpha, Bioware cant possibly expect all the characters in ME2 to fall off the map, you'd lose out on too many 'big choices' oppritunitys which they seem to be really hot for at this point.

Secondly, from the look of the sound files found, it appears that Liara will return to the desk to sort through data (an odd idea in my mind because I have an AI that can do that in a couple hours rather than several years).

Thirdly, HORRAY I found the 'quote' button, for some reason my forums have been switched to polish for some reason and I can't figure out how to make it stop.  Only text replys, thread names and drop down menues are in english.

DAO_Natalie just created a topic: Gossip factory: Liara T'Soni and the Shadow Broker.

Since most of you can't speak German, here the short version:

- There are hidden audio files (which we knew)

- the tehpwnage article about Liara DLC is mentioned

- Christina Normal has fun working on DLC

- Fernando Melo is looking forward to the end of April

What should we make out of that?

I think there's been some confusion here regarding those cut audio files. They aren't contained in any of the files marked with "Liara_DLC" at all. These audio files are trash and unused files contained in the actual conversation and dialogue folders. The "Liara_DLC" files are placeholders, containing very little, and will obviously be utilised when we download the Liara DLC.

I doubt we're ever going to see these audio files used anyway. Liara's current arc has been completely rewritten, expanded and revised. The original intention seems to be that Liara wouldn't have joined the Normandy because she would be looking through the Shadow Broker's data in order to find information on the Collectors in order to help Shepard in the upcoming battle. Since that is obviously no longer the case, and likely because they realised that said intention didn't make any sense for reasons we've already been over, these sound files have been scrapped and are likely to never see the light of day.

Looking at the files names, seems like we'll get a special Illium intro in which we inform Liara of how we can help her, or Shepard and Liara agree to go together to accomplish this mission. Then it seems like we'll get a Normandy intro, possibly showing Liara boarding the Normandy again to travel to this mission. I think this could be quite an emotional moment, showing Liara reliving her past demons, and reminiscing about the time she used to spend on the ship with the person she loves.

I can't wait to hear some more information about this DLC. I'm so excited! I want more Liara!!

OMG, that happened to me too!  My BSN magically turned Polish one day.  I forgot what I did but I turned it back to English, by clicking on random controls until I foudn the word "English".  But my emails from BSN are still in Polish, though...=\\.  If it was German, I would have no problem finding my way around th site but I don't know any Polish at all, I can just recognize it.

I like the dicussion of a Liara DLC.  It seems lie talk about it has blossomed within the past two weeks.  I'm pretty sure Liara will get a DLC, I like to remain optimistic.  Wait and see, I guess.

Yeah, it definitely seems like the hype machine for Liara and her DLC has really started to gain momentum in the past few weeks. From these news articles, Liara's situation and the fact that she is very much in demand is receiving alot of exposure, which can only be a good thing.

I can't wait until we hear something. I need more Liara.

Well you can make a lot out of that, bear in mind that the audio files are cut content,if you look at them you find out the SB was meant to be killed shortly after your first meeting with Liara and after that she "had to read" and you got the chance to do the two quests that are now in the game
Also so far every article is more or less pure speculation build up on the cut files and speculations that are flying around in the forums

As for the devs well they are not specific in Normans case she said she had fun adding new functionallity to the game which could mean everything from a new weapon to a new "type"of quest
And the last one again could mean anything,as far as I know there are no conventions in April,so we can disclose that, but he could also mean another "epic" community event so far the rest of the world hasnt been compensated I guess
All in all I wouldnt get to excited, als I would bet the next DLC will be Appearence Pack 2

It doesn't hurt to speculate, though. The DLC pipeline has all but dried up, and the only other rumoured DLC that we're aware of is the Liara DLC. Couple that with the evidence for Liara's DLC, and you can see why we're getting our hopes up. I firmly believe that Liara's DLC is on the way, we just need news or confirmation of it.

This page needs a pic of Liara's beautiful smile!

Frankly there are enough people to gun down in the galaxy to make a DLC aside from the SB,if you look at Zaeeds DLC there we got the chance to kill the real leader of the Blue suns so if we go with that pattern I could see us gunning down the leaders of the other merc bands too,because......ehr it involves shooting I guess.
As for Liara DLC speculation I dont know,as far as I see it there are many ways to do it right as there are ways to do it wrong, also I'm not a fan of having the SB getting casually gunned down in a DLC,so I speculate he might not appear at all maybe his base is a trap, the Salarian enforcer is also still running around so we would get a bossfight in that case.
As for Feron, well I think Liara is just hunting another corpse,at least if Bioware would go by logic there is no reason to keep the Drell alive, the SB has no use for him same goes for the Collectors

Yeah, I've always suspected that Tazzik will be a boss fight in Liara's DLC. I think the DLC will not be taking out the SB, but rather weaking one of his key bases of operation. The SB could be the first major goal of ME3, and dealing with him will obviously get Liara back on the Normandy fairly early. Likewise, appeasing the Alliance and smoothing over relations with them will be an early goal too, and that way we'll get Ash and Kaidan back on the squad early on too.

Regarding Feron, I've always thought that, unless the ending of Redemption #4 presents a clear reason as to why the SB would keep him alive, then he's worm food. The fact that it looked like Tazzik was going to beat him to death there and then, and that the SB hired Wrex to kill Fist for a much smaller scale betrayal, tells me that Feron karked it long ago.

What I really want to see explored and explained is this data cache that Liara is now in possession of. Liara knows the full extent of the SB's dealings with the Collectors and the Reapers, and we may need to give her more credit than we have previously regarding the bigger picture in terms of the Reaper plot. Liara may know that the SB is aiding the Reapers, and has realised what a useful tool he is for them and that he has to be stopped.

We just need answers, dammit!

Bioware's writers are doing their best to get themselves out of the hole they dug themselves in during ME 2. They have to find a way to redeem a character they purposefully and rather heavy handedly made unattractive to most people....

God, Conrad Verner was more loving and accepting than Liara came off.  Actually, sadly enough, he was more excited than most everyone else in the entire GAME at Shepard's return...

Yeah they need to get them selves a really long ladder for that.

Wrex and Conrad was the only ones that was happy to see Shep again, Wrex almost brought a tear to my eye.

The thing is though, it's not just limited to Liara in terms of making it appear that the characters are apathetic in terms of Shepard's current mission. I've seen people say about how friendly and open Wrex is, but aside from the initial "Shepard! My friend!" and the handshake, it's straight down the business with him. Wrex brushes you off, doesn't ask about the wellbeing of his former comrade or the status of the mission, and just talks endlessly about the current krogan situation. Likewise with Anderson. Why wouldn't he ask his protege about his/her wellbeing? About Shepard's chances for survival? All three of these characters should show concern for Shepard's wellbeing, as they obviously do still care. It's just an awful oversight on the writer's part.

Like you said, screw, it's why I think there will be deep, intimate and emotional interaction with Liara in her DLC, with additional content if she's your LI. They went way overboard with this "dark second chapter" IMO. Hell, exclusive romanctic content with Liara was all but absent in ME2. It'll be rectified and tackled in her DLC.

Seeing Wrex again was awesome. I always liked him and the way he just shoved the other guys aside and went to greet Shepard was just...amazing. That's what should happen when friends see eachother again under the circumstances. Not just an "uh...yeah, hi" like we got from most of the others...

I get the dark second chapter thing.  Look at Lord of the Rings.  Light and fluffy beginning, starts getting rough...the second act has a lot of darkness as well but it ends on a hopeful note (Sam's Speech? Best speech ever).  Even the romance between Arwen and Aragorn is repeatedly reinforced as a hopeful, though seemingly doomed one.  The last movie was darker, but hey good guys win yay!

ME 2 was just...darkness for darkness sake and then the word is ME 3 is supposed to be even darker.  It just seems too contrived...

The fact we are getting excited over the tame Wrex and Verner reunion scenes go to show how flat and limp the other character's scenes were.

bjd, that's absolutely spot on. Like we've said before, Liara shows enough emotion and care for Shepard once you break through her shell. It's Shepard that's acting completely out of character, and like an emotionless moron. That's reflected in your emoticons, where it's only Shepard that's different and Liara is still exactly the same.

LD, I'm glad we don't have to kill each other! We need to unite for Liara!

Yeah they tried a little to hard to make it dark, edgy and rocky and it just turned out flat and boring. I think they tried to do to much and ended up with nothing.
