You need to prepare for it though, J. As I've said before, I'll be massively surprised if Liara isn't able to die in ME3, along with the rest of the "un-killables" in Joker, Anderson, Udina, TIM etc.



Of course, we're NEVER going to see Liara die!

Of course, there's the possibility that they'll keep Liara alive for any games set after the trilogy. Given her long lifespan, she could be used as a link back to the trilogy, hundreds of years after ME3 ends.



Imagine if we get a ME game set 600+ years after ME3, and we see Matriarch Liara. If she was your LI, she could talk fondly about Shepard and how much she misses her. Would be so sweet!

Oh, I know she's going to be killable in ME3 but I don't care about that as long as it's optional.  I just don't want her killable in ME2 DLC and give them a reason not to have her on the team in ME3.

Yeah, I'm noticing this trend too morrie. There have also been a few articles published recently advocating Liara's DLC, and expressing a desire to see more of her. The demand is there. People want Liara!

Given that one of the possible endings should be to lose somehow, and the reapers winning, she would die there like anyone else. I wouldn't mind the possibility to get her killed either, as long as it isn't mandatory of course, and doesn't take development time away from the romance and conclusion. Of course I would never see it, but I appreciate any freedom a game offers.

I agree that this is a possibility.   She could show up in future novels or comics as well. 

It would be cool to play an ME game set in the future.....will they do this?  Who knows.

Like bjd said though, they should concentrate on giving us Liara romance content and development of Liara's character, with a greater number of scenes and dialogue than worrying about working on her death scene though. Work on the happy Liara romance epilogue first and foremost.

Once thing is for sure, they're going to milk the franchise for all it's worth. What that means for the quality of inevitable future games remains to be seen.

I do think that if the sb is a reaper it solves all the problems liara would have to come back and join the crew because as good as she is I dont see her being able to take one out without shepard

Neither would Joker's, or Anderson's, or TIM's, or Udina's. But as it's the end of the trilogy, it's the opportunity to create some kind of closure for these characters and their story arcs. One type of closure is the character dying.

I don't like the idea of Liara potentially dying, and neither do you. We're never going to see it. But like I said, it'll be there in the game as a possible outcome of your choices or mistakes.

Could we discuss something a little happier? This convo is getting me down! :crying:

I really really really really really REALLY want Liara T'Soni back in Mass Effect 3 as a squadmate and also have the option to romance her! What would be even better? If BioWare released DLC for ME2 involved Liara so we start ME3 with her as our squadmate.
